Chapter 961: Finding the cubs

The next morning,

Jeremy Night woke up early. He exited the tree hole and began to observe the surroundings.

He used his eye power and verified that there were no Corrupted beasts in the area.

Next, he used "Feather Steps" for movement. He swiftly went through the small gaps between the vegetation.

It didn’t take long for him to come across a beast. This time, he spotted the beasts early, but he chose to advance.

Because this path went straight toward the habitat of the royal lion. If he took a detour at this moment, it would be a waste of time.

In a flash, he appeared in front of the beasts.

The beasts were none other than four-legged Corrupted beasts.

Blood flowed out from the wound. In the blink of an eye, he took down the other beasts. All five of them were dead and laying across the ground.

Jeremy Night then resumed his journey.

Not long after, two Beast Taming Teams arrived at the place. They came here by following the tracks of Jeremy Night.

Next, they saw the scene on the ground. The four-legged beasts were dead. They were all Tier-5 beasts, but their bodies had blade cuts.

They looked at each other’s faces. They understood that it could be the work of Jeremy Night because the beasts all had blade wounds on their bodies.

"They were easily killed. There doesn’t seem to be much of a struggle," one of them said.

"We are Tier-5 Beast Tamers as well. What if we come across him?" a female Beast Tamer said.

Hearing that, the others had solemn expressions on their faces because they started feeling powerless.

If their Lifeline beasts faced similar injuries, then they would become crippled. They couldn’t let anything happen to their Lifeline beasts.

The 12 people held another discussion. They had decided to defeat Jeremy Night and cause him serious injuries.

But for that, they had to defeat him first. Here, their resolve started to waver. They doubted their Lifeline beasts could defeat Jeremy Night and his lifeline beast.

No one spoke a word. Everyone stayed silent, looking at the corpses of the beasts.

At this time, one of them stepped forward and said, "We are worrying for nothing. Why don’t we first find him and verify his strength?"

"If he is truly that strong, we can leave the place anytime," he added.

Hearing that, the others collected their thoughts. They agreed to find Jeremy Night first.

The group next resumed their journey. It didn’t take long for them to encounter another beast group.

Next, a fight took place. The two teams engaged in a fight.

Jeremy Night reached his destination. It was a plain field filled with green weeds. His gaze then swept across the place.

He came across a series of rocky beds. He thought the royal lion could be inside one of the crevices.

He used his second eye power. The eye power scanned the place. He saw some living things.

But he was looking for the outline of the four-legged beast. Since the beast was a Tier-7 Royal Lion, the size of the beast had to be huge.

He scanned the place. Finally, he saw a massive beast body lying on the ground inside one of the crevices.

He then went toward the place. He didn’t make any noise along the way because it could alert beasts in other crevices.

Soon, he came to the entrance. He then saw the footprints of the beast. The footprints matched a lion’s paw.

Jeremy took a deep breath before going inside.

He walked inside the passage. He used his eye power while moving, taking each step slowly.

10 minutes later,

He reached the deepest part. He could hear the sounds of lion cubs. He was sure that it was the cry of lion cubs.

He took a deep breath before going into the area. Soon, he saw a massive beast over 5 meters long lying dead on the ground.

The lion cubs were making sounds next to the body.

Jeremy saw that the strength of the lion cubs was Tier-1. These beasts were not corrupted beasts; they were regular beasts with a bloodline limit of Tier-7.

They could become contract beasts for new Beast Tamers. Jeremy then acted. He took out six glass containers. The glass containers were specially built for keeping cubs.

He took each cub and placed it inside the containers one by one. The bed inside each container was comfortable and soothing.

The lion cubs quickly fell asleep. He then placed the glass containers inside his storage ring. Finally, his gaze turned toward the massive corpse.

He recalled there was no mention of what to do with the beast corpse in the mission description.

Jeremy Night decided to collect the corpse for his own use. He did just that. The massive corpse disappeared from the spot.

Now it was resting inside his storage ring. He didn’t leave right away. The hideout was located deep inside the cave structure, so he decided to spend the night here.

He looked around; only a small amount of light came from the cracks above. He then looked at the bed where the lion had slept. He stepped inside and lay on the ground.

He was not afraid of threats here. If any beasts tried to enter, he could spot them using his eye power. So, he closed his eyes to rest.
