Jeremy Night was going through the mission list. He hadn’t found any beast hunting missions so far, which was surprising to him.

Usually, he would find one or two beast hunting missions easily. But this time, he didn’t find any. He then continued to go through the list.

On the other hand, the people in the administration building were observing Jeremy Night.

Some were already sharing information with others.

Jeremy Night ignored them. He was paying attention to the mission descriptions.

Whereas Elder Smith was different; he was keeping an eye on the surroundings. He, too, saw the behavior of others.

He understood. He knew many students were dissatisfied with the performance of Jeremy Night.

They might cause trouble soon.

Jeremy Night read the mission description. He found that the mission was interesting. He decided to take the mission.

He just had to escort back the lion cubs. He didn’t have to fight against the royal lion.

He then gave the device to Elder Smith.

Elder Smith read the mission and nodded his head. He thought the mission didn’t pose much of a threat.

He then selected the mission and registered it for Jeremy Night.

After completing the process, Jeremy Night decided to go to the wilderness. He then bid goodbye to Elder Smith before leaving.

The people who were talking grew quiet. They informed the concerned Beast Tamers that Jeremy Night had left for the mission.

Jeremy Night texted Elder John. Then, he entered the wilderness. He used the map to check his direction.

After finding the habitat of the royal lion on the map, he started walking.

Meanwhile,

The first-year students had learned that Jeremy Night had selected a mission again. They didn’t know the mission details because of Elder Smith.

But they knew the mission must have huge rewards. They decided to cause problems for Jeremy Night.

Yet, they didn’t leave right away. Doing so would expose them. So, they waited for 15 minutes. Then, they left the special base.

They left the base as a team. Right now, two teams had formed, with six members in each.

A total of 12 of them were in the teams. All of them had their names on the leaderboard rankings.

They were Tier-5 Beast Tamers. Yet, their ranks had been dethroned by Jeremy Night. They decided to injure Jeremy Night in the wilderness.

Their goal was to make him bedridden. They couldn’t afford to kill Jeremy Night. If they did, the elders would find out easily.

They heard Elder John had recruited Jeremy Night to the base. So, they didn’t dare think of killing Jeremy Night.

But if they injured Jeremy Night in a fight, no one could accuse them. The two teams entered the wilderness.

They used their lifeline beasts to track Jeremy Night. A few of the lifeline beasts caught the scent of Jeremy Night.

They started following the traces with the help of their lifeline beasts. However, both teams decided not to confront Jeremy Night too soon.

They would wait for the right opportunity. Their goal was to injure Jeremy Night.

Time passed.

Jeremy Night was going towards the destination. There was no time limit for the mission, but he didn’t know whether the royal lion was dead or not.

He needed to reach the habitat to verify the news.

His eyes spotted many beasts using his eye power. He avoided confronting them and took a small detour. He then resumed his journey.

Nighttime came.

He used a blade to carve out a hole in a huge tree trunk. Then, he hid inside the tree hole and covered the entrance with twigs and tree leaves.

Surprisingly, he didn’t engage in combat. He avoided confronting the beasts. He thought the habitat of the royal lion was dangerous.

It was wise for him to save his strength. He then took out the beast repellent powder and poured it on the entrance.

After completing the safety checks, he closed his eyes to sleep.

As time passed, the corrupted beasts started appearing during the nighttime. It was the ideal time for them to hunt for other beasts.

Meanwhile,

The two Beast Taming teams found themselves in trouble as well. They didn’t know the mission details of Jeremy Night.

They had left before collecting the details. It was not like they hadn’t tried to find out.

But Elder Smith saw through their plans. He didn’t leave the mission desk. Because of it, the other elders weren’t able to get the information.

Right now, they could only rely on their lifeline beasts. Their lifeline beasts never lost the track of Jeremy Night.

When it was nighttime, they had to stop. They couldn’t afford to fight during the night.

The 12 members set up a small camp. They didn’t summon their lifeline beasts outside.

Doing so would draw attention from the corrupted beasts in the wilderness.

They were just Tier-5 Beast Tamers with Tier-5 lifeline beasts.

As time passed, they spent the night in the tent. Many corrupted beasts continued to roam the wilderness.

Somewhere nearby, a fight took place between beasts.

On the other hand, Jeremy Night was not having a peaceful time inside the tree hole. He was continuously hearing the sounds of the beasts.

He was concealing his strength. He didn’t want to leak a tiny bit of natural energy. Right now, he had a black and purple armor suit.

If any fight occurred, he could survive. So, he was not afraid of the higher-tier beasts. He could still escape from their attacks.

He then continued to stay awake. The beast’s sounds continued to echo.

Even the corrupted beasts walked past very close to his location. If a beast had been any closer, it would have found the human Beast Tamer hiding in the tree hole.

Jeremy Night calmed his heart. He didn’t react much. He quietly waited for the morning time to come.
