Chapter 952: New information

Market

Jeremy Night continued to read the book. He was obtaining new information. He was right; each zone was different. The 4th zone was surrounded by a vast wilderness.

It was home to different types of corrupted beasts, but they were found deep within. Some of them existed in small numbers.

The stall owner saw that the young man was reading the book. He didn’t know whether the young man was going to buy the book or not.

On the other hand, Jeremy Night’s memory was good. He needed only a single glance to memorize the information.

He quickly flipped the pages one after another. There was some information about the top three zones as well. There, he read about the Colossal Beasts.

Not many people had the chance to witness a Colossal Beast. But he had that rare chance. He had seen one such beast back in the 10th Zone.

A single attack from that beast had half-destroyed the city. He still remembered that scene, where the towering buildings were covered in spider webs.

Jeremy then collected his thoughts and continued to read the book.

"Young man, are you going to buy this book?" the old man asked.

Hearing that, Jeremy felt guilty. He decided to buy the book. There were still pages left to cover.

"How much is it?" he asked.

"Ten credit points," the old man said.

Jeremy Night frowned. It was not as if such information was a secret. He could ask around the members at the base to get it.

But he found that this book seemed to be the personal notes of a Beast Tamer. He then paid the ten credit points before placing the book inside his storage ring.

He would resume reading it during the flight. The old man smiled. He didn’t mind if the kid read a few other books.

Time passed.

Jeremy didn’t find any other interesting books. He nodded to the old man before moving on to other stalls.

As time passed, he saw some interesting things, but he didn’t spend credit points to buy anything. He then decided to return to the hotel.

He used the same way on his return. After leaving the marketplace, he used the alley to get to the main road.

He then found a cab driver. He told him the destination. He entered the cab and sat down in the back seat.

Swoosh!

The car departed from the place. It didn’t take long for the cab to reach the hotel. The driver landed the car in front of the hotel.

Jeremy Night stepped outside. He paid the fare to the driver. When the car drove away from the place, the Beast Taming Store came into view.

He didn’t know whether the manager was there. He shook his head before going into the hotel.

After returning to his room, he entered the bathroom to take a shower. The shower lasted for 20 minutes.

Then he walked out and changed into comfortable clothes.

He sat on the sofa before taking out the book. He resumed reading it. He had wanted to read it on the flight earlier, but he had changed his mind.

Time passed.

He realized that it was the personally written notes of a higher-tier beast tamer. The person had experienced the vast area of the wilderness during a mission.

He and his companion had survived several disasters. Most of the mutated beasts lived near abandoned chemical plants and other research facilities.

It reminded him of the place in the 10th Zone. He had encountered a black lake there. The lake had terrifying crocodile beasts back then.

He didn’t dare to go there again. He thought his current strength was not enough to face that kind of beast again.

When it was late at night, he put away the book inside his storage bracelet. He then went to bed to sleep.

Meanwhile,

A few troublemakers were searching for someone in the market. It was the same man who had been attacked by a young man earlier.

The young man was nowhere to be found. The person then went to the book stall. He confronted the old man who ran the stall.

"Old man, did you see that kid?" he asked.

Hearing that, the old man knew he meant the young kid who had purchased the book.

"I don’t know what you are talking about," the old man replied. He feigned ignorance.

Hearing that, the man was pissed off. He could not attack the old man here. He then rejoined his friends.

The man decided to come back tomorrow. If the same young man came here, he would teach him a lesson.

...

Meanwhile,

Inside the Beast Taming Store, Manager Brian received a call from his friend.

"John, why didn’t you call during the daytime?" Brian asked.

"I just got some free time. Tell me, did he come?" John asked.

"Yes. I saw the young man. He received your armor and left the store. But he told me that he would spend a few days here," Brian replied.

Hearing that, John was surprised. He thought Jeremy would return right away. Then he understood that Jeremy Night was not from the 4th zone.

He might have wanted to explore the place.

"What do you think?" John asked. His tone sounded serious.

Brian noticed the tone as well.

"Don’t tell me you are going to recommend him to the forces in the top three zones. If I’m not wrong, you must be thinking of using the Beast Taming Store channel," Brian said with a smile.

"Yes, the kid is a powerful Beast Tamer. He can fight across Tiers. He has participated in numerous beast tides. He helped the special base by fighting against the Tier-5 Corrupted Beasts."

"He was able to kill some of them," John explained.

But Brian was left speechless. He didn’t know whether his friend was joking with him or not. He had been ready to talk back because of the STRIKER status of the young man.

But he changed his mind right now. He knew his friend wouldn’t make a joke like this.

"Are you there?" John asked.

"I’m here. Tell me, you’re not making this up, are you?" he asked back.

"If you don’t believe me, you can verify it through your sources," John said.
