Chapter 939: Part 2: Fight against the Unknown bird beast

Boom!

The coercion from the unknown beast was trying to crush him. His lifeline beast came to the rescue.

All of a sudden, his internal organs and other vital parts were protected by special layers.

Right then, he felt the pressure being alleviated slightly. Yet it was only slight. The coercion was still affecting him. He had underestimated the coercion of the almost Tier-7 Beast.

The special layer from the lifeline beast was giving him some breathing room so that he could move around, but not with full speed and flexibility.

Jeremy Night still decided to fight against the beast. He once again raised his left hand.

Bang! Bang!

He fired continuous shots again. The starlight bullets cut through the air. They went across in a straight line again. But this time, he noticed something different.

The speed of the starlight bullets had slowed down. The coercion from the beast was slowing them down. His heart set off storms.

He then turned towards the unknown bird beast. The gaze of the unknown bird beast seemed to be mocking.

Seeing that, he felt a chill down his spine. The beast seemed to be highly intelligent.

The starlight bullets couldn’t reach the target. They dropped to the ground before targeting the head.

The bullets rolled over the ground.

Seeing that, he made a decision not to use the handgun for now. He could only use it as a surprise attack. He put the gun back in its case.

He then held the blade in both of his hands. He took a step forward, but it was not smooth. He faced some difficulty.

If this went on, he wouldn’t be able to evade and launch a surprise attack. He was stuck in a difficult situation. Only the lifeline beast’s special layer was giving him some internal protection.

He had thought about fighting earlier, but now it seemed like a bad idea.

The unknown bird beast was done playing. It moved fast to attack. Its powerful, sharp beak was ready to shred the human body to pieces.

Jeremy Night felt the sense of death. This time, it was real. He brought the blade forward to block it in defense. At the same time, he shifted his body weight to avoid the attack.

He was able to move his body away. Still, the edge of the sharp beak collided with the flat side of the blade.

The next second, he felt a terrifying impact force. His body flew backward before hitting the slope’s edge near the cave passage.

The sand came down like a landslide from the impact. He felt a terrible pain assaulting his body. At the same time, he broke free from the coercion.

Jeremy Night’s brain was active. He knew it was an important chance. He tried to move away from the sand and rubble.

After coming out, he immediately used his movement method to escape from the place. He ran towards the foot of the mountain.

Once he reached the flat land, he could protect himself. The tall trees would be hindrances to the bird beast. It wouldn’t be able to catch him on the ground.

But before that, he needed to reach the bottom of the mountain first.

The unknown bird beast didn’t care. The eyes of the bird beast were locked on the target. It immediately increased its speed, closing in on capturing the target.

Its massive claws could easily pick up the target.

On the other hand, Jeremy Night’s senses were heightened under the crisis. He could feel the massive wind force coming from behind.

He slightly turned around and saw a massive shadow above his head. Suddenly, he found that the movement of the beast and the wind around him became slow.

His mind immediately looked for the claws. Then, he saw the claws were right above him.

Right then, he made a sudden turn to the left side.

Swoosh!

The claws once again missed the target. The claws caught nothing but empty air. The bird beast made a sound before flying high into the sky.

Screech!

Jeremy Night was glad that he had trained his body. The training of his close combat technique came in handy now.

Because of it, he was able to control his body without losing his balance. If it had been earlier, he would have lost his balance on the slope.

He didn’t have time to relax. He saw there were a few more slopes to cover. He resumed running. The bird beast could come back at any time.

Screech!

The cry of the bird beast was clearly heard.

The unknown bird beast circled in the air, its gaze locked onto the target. It noticed the target was going to the base of the mountain.

The foot of the mountain and the lands below were covered in trees. The beast was enraged again. Its red eyes turned bloodshot.

It didn’t want the human prey to escape from its grasp. It had already fought against the Mountain Wolf; it would be embarrassing if a human escaped from its grasp.

Swoosh!

The massive beast dived down again. Its wings became straight as it cut through the air. Those eyes once again caught the target.

This time, it planned to use its sharp beak. If the human target tried to move, it would use the beak again to attack.

Jeremy Night kept going towards the foot of the mountain.

Swoosh!

Once again, he felt a sense of crisis. He raised his head and saw the massive bird beast coming towards him.

His eyes turned cold. He then looked around and saw the trees nearby. He decided to take cover now.
