Chapter 940: Part 1: Escaping from the unknown bird beast

Wilderness

Jeremy Night reached the nearby tree and lay flat on the ground. He was afraid that the bird beast’s claw would reach him.

Just one contact was enough to shred his body.

Swoosh!

The next second, he heard a terrific sound from above. He didn’t dare to lift his head.

A massive bird claw hit the empty air. It failed to capture him again. The unknown bird beast flew upward again.

It was totally enraged. A weak human Beast Tamer was fooling the higher-tier beast. The beast took it personally. It was highly intelligent.

On the other hand, Jeremy Night’s back was drenched in sweat. He didn’t dare to waste any time. He knew the bird beast must be at a high altitude right now.

He stood up and started going downward to the foot of the mountain. He didn’t hesitate to use his movement method.

Boom!

He was going faster down. One mishap would make him take an awful fall. But he had exceptional control over his body and feet.

He was running fast, but he was taking each and every step firmly. His eyes caught the minute details and sent them to his brain.

Before he could take his next step, he knew which one was the solid ground and which was not. If he took a wrong step on the weak ground, a landslide would occur.

In the blink of an eye, he covered more distance. Yet the bird beast was still circling in the air. The beast was calculating. It found out that the weak human was able to escape at the last moment.

This time, it came with another plan. It wouldn’t fly up again after missing the target. This time, it would slow down its speed. If the prey changed direction, then it would do so as well.

Swoosh!

After making the decision, the unknown bird beast dived down again. The wind force generated from its speed swept away the nearby vegetation.

Jeremy Night saw that only three slopes were in between. But before he could cross them, he felt the sense of crisis again.

But he didn’t stop running. He slightly turned his head to locate the beast. It was coming at him from the sky. He looked around and saw that there were no nearby trees.

He was exposed. He unsheathed his blade and held it in his hand. A terrible idea came to his mind. But if the idea succeeded, then he would reach the base safely.

He paused his footsteps and turned around to face the beast.

Swoosh!

The unknown bird beast was surprised. It didn’t expect the human Beast Tamer to stop all of a sudden. The unknown bird beast saw that there were no trees this time for cover.

It increased its speed again. In the blink of an eye, it reached the target. It was a couple of seconds away from the sharp beak shredding the body of the human Beast Tamer.

At the same time, Jeremy Night did something unusual. He covered the whole blade in his starlight power instead of doing it just for the blade’s edge.

The white threads wrapped around the whole blade. When the beast reached him, he gripped it tightly and raised the blade to block.

But only the flat side of the blade was facing the attack. He looked at the massive bird beast with determination.

Boom!

The sharp beak collided into the flat side of the blade. The blade was covered in the starlight power, so it withstood the direct attack. But the impact force was felt by Jeremy Night.

The force struck him and rocketed his body backward. Because of it, he fell from the slope, making it easier for him to reach the foot of the mountain.

Jeremy Night used his eye ability. While he was falling down, his body passed through the tree branches. He got hit by them one by one.

Before his body could take a hard hit, he used the starlight thread to cover the trunk of one of the trees. He did it on a whim.

But when the starlight threads wrapped around the trunk of the tree, it slowed down his momentum. He was able to control his own body and avoided a bad fall.

Thud!

He then landed on the ground without injury. He didn’t stop and continued to run forward. His eyes scanned the route and found the route he had come from.

He immediately sped towards the place.

On the other hand, the bird beast was shocked. It didn’t know how many times the human Beast Tamer had fooled it.

Now the human Beast Tamer had done it again. It felt a slight discomfort in its sharp beak, as if a small injury had occurred. But it was a superficial injury because of the starlight power.

Swoosh!

The unknown bird beast rose above the clouds. It didn’t know what to do next. If it followed the human brat, then it might encounter other Beast Tamers.

It knew that it was not a genuine Tier-7 Beast. The beast was closer to a breakthrough. It didn’t want to come across trouble. But there was some unwillingness.

Seeing that the human Beast Tamer was escaping from the place, it decided to give itself one more chance.

Swoosh!

It dived down from the sky again. Its massive body was getting closer to the ground. When it got closer to the ground, the wind force struck the tall trees and broke them instantly.

Boom!

It was razing down everything on its way.

Meanwhile,

Jeremy Night felt the sense of crisis again. He looked back and saw that the unknown bird beast was coming from behind, destroying the obstacles on the way.

But he was more confident on the ground than on the slope. He decided to take an abrupt turn. His gaze fell on the blade, which was covered in the starlight power.

When the beast got closer towards him, he turned around. He felt the incoming coercion, and his movements were restricted.

But his talent power kicked in. His senses were heightened. The movement of the beast appeared slow under his eyes.

He saw that the eyes of the beast never left him. Those eyes were completely locked onto him.
