Chapter 929: Smooth Mission

4th Zone - Special Base

Jeremy Night looked at the three of them. He was surprised. The next second, he unsheathed the blade and charged at them.

When his body came in contact with the starlight threads, the threads were absorbed into his body.

They didn’t cut his body like the others. This scene was witnessed by the three of them. They were terrified to the core.

Slash!

Before they could think of something else, they were met with the flashing blade. The blade tore through their bodies one by one.

Their mutilated body parts fell to the ground.

In the blink of an eye, he killed the three of them. He then took a deep breath before exhaling.

"It worked," he said, looking at the silk threads.

He didn’t know how to take them back. The next second, something miraculous happened. The starlight threads turned into white mist, then entered his body.

He could feel the starlight power settle inside his mental zone next. Now the place has returned to normal. There were no more four-knot obstacles.

His heart was stirred. He knew it must be because of the unknown beast egg. The beast inside the egg had already developed intelligence.

Otherwise, it didn’t explain the situation right now. The unknown beast egg provided great help. But he knew that the unknown beast egg lacked energy.

That was why it only responded randomly. He then collected his thoughts and left the place. He still had to complete the mission.

Time passed.

The Tier-5 beasts he had come across were cut down by the silk threads. He stopped using them after one or two beasts.

The mission required complete corpses. So, he didn’t want to waste time. He then came across other beasts and used the blade to swiftly end their lives.

He then stored the complete corpses inside the storage ring.

That evening, he was resting under a tree. He had collected enough Tier-5 beast corpses. He had also experimented with the starlight threads.

He was satisfied and decided to return.

The next second, his senses felt a slight tremor. The tremor was coming from underground, but it wasn’t directed at him.

Jeremy Night’s expression changed drastically. He immediately thought of the worm beast. Last time, the Tier-6 worm beast had fled from the place.

He thought the current tremor was related to the worm beast as well. His heart filled with curiosity, but he began to ponder.

It was uncertain whether the beast was the worm beast. Even if it was, he couldn’t tell whether it was a Tier-5 or Tier-6 beast.

But if it turned out to be a higher-tier beast, then it would be troublesome. After hesitating a bit, he decided to rely on his eye power.

He didn’t have to get near. He could watch them from a certain distance. He then followed the tremor to locate the place.

It didn’t take long for him to find the place. He then saw a fight scene between a Twin-Tail Fire Lizard and an Underground Worm Beast.

Both of them were giants, over 6 or 7 meters in size. Their fighting was causing the tremor. Jeremy continued to watch the fight.

He didn’t plan on intervening. He decided to watch first and take action later.

Time passed by.

The Twin Fire Lizard failed to cause any damage to the Worm Beast. The Worm Beast was slippery. Whenever the Lizard spat fire, it hid underground.

Jeremy was surprised by the flame attack of the Lizard. It was rare to come across a beast that could use a fire ability.

Even among the higher-tier beasts, it was a rare thing. His gaze then turned to the worm beast as well. He knew the ability of the worm beast: it could manipulate the ground.

Soon, it happened. The worm beast trapped the Fire Lizard in the wet ground. The Fire Lizard failed to move its body.

Boom!

It spewed blazing flames around it. The flames scorched the ground. The intense heat cracked the ground.

The Fire Lizard was able to move. This time it didn’t fight against the Worm Beast. The Fire Lizard disappeared into the woods.

The Worm Beast then entered the ground and disappeared from the place.

Jeremy Night was stunned. The fight was short, but he understood something.

Higher-tier beasts with abilities were walking disasters. It didn’t have to be a Tier-8 or Tier-9 beast every time to cause an invasion.

A higher-tier beast with an ability could trouble the human zone populace. Fortunately, he hadn’t come across such a beast back in the previous human zones.

The 4th zone was different. He thought that things would be worse at the top three zones. After figuring this out, he left the place and made his way back towards the special base.

He had killed the Beast Taming Team from the second year. He had failed to find the name of the mastermind. At least, he should have interrogated them.

He then shook his head. He had been hasty this time. He was excited to use the starlight threads and forgot about the matter.

Time passed.

Post-midnight, he reached the special base. Only a few hours were left before sunrise. He didn’t see anyone else. He was the only one walking back to the special base.

He reached the entrance and walked along the path. He then walked up to the administration building. After getting inside, he walked straight towards the counter.

Elder Smith was behind the counter, but he was sleeping on the desk. There were a few other elders as well.

He called out to Elder Smith. Upon hearing his name, the elder raised his head. He saw Jeremy Night in front of him and was stunned.

"What are you doing here?" he asked.

"I have come to submit the mission,"Jeremy replied.

Smith was taken aback. Of course, he knew about the mission.

"Why don’t you come the next morning?"he asked.

Jeremy Night simply shook his head and didn’t answer. Smith then decided to complete the process. He took him to the room and collected the Tier-5 beast corpses from him.
