Chapter 928: Part 2: Faction Infighting

4th Zone-Special Base

Luke collected his thoughts and went forward to attack again. This time he used his full strength. He didn’t hold back.

To Jeremy Night, Luke’s movement appeared to be slow. He decided to target the weak point when the fist came towards him.

He spotted the black dots. He moved forward, facing the punch. At the last moment, he moved. He evaded the punch, and his right hand’s fingers touched the black spot on the arm.

Stab!

When the finger came in contact with the black spot, the smile on Luke’s face froze. His arm stopped midway.

The next second, Luke felt a searing pain from his right hand.

Aahahhh!

A blood-curdling scream escaped from his mouth. While clutching his hand, he moved backward. He looked toward Jeremy Night with horror.

He had underestimated the person. A Tier-3 Beast Tamer was able to hurt him. He was not a fool; he had sustained some injuries during the mission.

He thought he had recovered completely, but he realized he had not. Jeremy Night had targeted the hidden injury.

When he looked down, he saw a small black color on his right arm, which was further blackened because of the attack.

Luke felt fear toward Jeremy Night. He finally left the canteen and went to the medical center. His friends followed behind him.

Quiet!

There was a pin-drop silence in the hall. Everyone looked toward Jeremy Night with a new gaze. They had heard of his talent and strength to fight across Tiers.

Now they had witnessed it firsthand. They could tell Jeremy Night had targeted the hidden injury accurately. It had made Luke visit the medical center right away, so the pain must have been severe.

Those who had harbored some ill intentions toward Jeremy Night earlier-they were gone right now. They were not fools.

It was one thing to offend Elder John, but it was another thing to defeat Jeremy Night. If the second was not achieved, they would become a laughing stock.

They could already imagine the condition of Luke in the coming days. People of their own faction might make fun of him.

Jeremy Night went and brought the cleaning utensils himself. He then began to clean the floor.

20 minutes later,

He returned to his room. His mouth curved into an arc. He hadn’t exposed his strength; instead, he had exploited the weakness of Luke.

It was a lesson to others as well. Hereafter, no one would cause trouble unless they were sure of their own strength.

If there was any next step, then it would be from the strong Beast Tamers. Jeremy Night then collected his thoughts. He could tell that the infighting had begun.

He decided to take a mission right away.

One hour later,

He entered the administration building. Elder John was not here; he had gone to City A for some work, so he did not know about the situation here.

But Elder Smith was here. Upon seeing him, he showed a bright smile. Then he gave him the device.

Jeremy Night then browsed the missions. He once again picked a hunting mission. He needed to collect the corpses of enough Tier-5 Beasts.

He wanted to take a Tier-6 beast mission, but the first-years were not allowed. Even if some could fight across Tiers, the elders had changed the rules recently.

They didn’t want the first-year Beast Tamers to take the risk. After selecting the mission, he left the building.

He didn’t forget about the second-year students. He was sure that they would come after him this time as well.

He increased his pace. He quickly entered the wilderness and used the "Feather Steps" to escape the place.

Shortly afterwards,

The second-year students entered the wilderness. They asked around and found the direction where Jeremy Night had left. They gave chase.

Seeing that, the beast tamers there were surprised.

They didn’t know why the Beast Taming Teams were going after a Tier-3 Beast Tamer. It didn’t sit well with them.

Meanwhile,

Jeremy was standing on the branch of a tree. He used his eye power to scan the way back. He used zoomed-in vision to check whether anyone was coming after him.

Then he saw the senior students. His eyes turned cold. He then looked down; he found the current place was quite good.

There were trees growing at the four corners. The next second, he used the starlight threads to tie the four corners of the trees. Hundreds of small starlight threads wrapped the four corners.

It was not visible to the eye. Then he landed on the ground outside the four knots. He took the map out and pretended to view it.

The current place was quite a distance away from the base. He was not expecting everyone to fall into the trap, but he wanted to take down at least 2 among the 6 students.

When they got closer, he turned around and pretended to be exploring the way forward.

Meanwhile,

The 6 Beast Tamers were using the help of their lifeline beasts to trace the target. By following the clues, they finally saw the back of Jeremy Night.

Upon seeing him, the six Beast Tamers looked at each other. They were happy and excited. More than that, they were relieved as well.

Since they had seen him now, the mission could be concluded as successful. The next second, the six of them gave chase.

They didn’t want to summon their lifeline beasts here. If Jeremy Night was alerted, he would flee. Instead, they wanted to close the gap first.

In the blink of an eye, they reached the starlight knot. Upon seeing Jeremy Night closer, three of them charged forward.

Right then, three of their lifeline beasts alerted them. But it was already too late.

Pfff!

They crossed the starlight thread and reached the other end. But their bodies were covered in red line marks.

Three of them felt their vitality going away. Their heartbeats were slowing down. The next second, a torrent of blood gushed forth from their bodies.

From head to toe, three of their bodies fell down to the ground in multiple pieces.

The other three stood on the edge and didn’t take a single step forward at all. They were frozen in fear and extreme shock.
