Chapter 927: Part 1: Faction Infighting

A few days passed by.

Jeremy Night didn’t leave the room. He was fully immersed in his new technique. His starlight could now split into a hundred sharp, thin threads.

He was imagining using the threads in various ways to trap and kill the enemy. The hundred thin, small threads were less visible to the eye.

The Beast Tamers and the Corrupted Beasts would find it hard to evade.

If he could use it however he wanted, then he could sit back and watch the beasts die from the starlight threads cutting their bodies.

And his effort paid off. He did find some practical ways to use the starlight threads. He could use them as a spiderweb to trap. Then, he could use them as wire to wrap around the enemy’s body.

He was clear on the execution. Next, he had to test it on the beasts.

Time passed

He then focused on other techniques as well. Slowly, his blade skills improved.

His blade path in the intermediate stage moved faster. Because of it, the speed of mastering other skills increased as well.

That noon, he left the room after getting refreshed. He went to the canteen. The constant training had drained his body.

The food at the canteen was available all the time, day and night, because the mission timing for everyone was different. For example, certain Beast Taming Teams would return during the midnight.

Then, they would need to consume food to recover. There were others who were repeatedly training each day. They needed food all the time as well.

Jeremy Night was one of them. He came to the counter and began to self-serve. He could feel the unfriendly, cold gazes on his back.

He knew what this was about. The first-year students already belong to some faction. He was among the few who remained neutral.

So they have resorted to this way to intimidate him. After filling his plate, he found a place to sit down. He sat on the chair.

He placed the plate on the table. He was comfortable and began to enjoy the food. There were others who were keeping an eye on Jeremy Night.

Seeing that Jeremy Night was unfazed and minding his own business, they were taken aback. It was because, clearly, some people were bad-talking him right now.

Each of the words could be heard by others. They were loud and rude. Yet Jeremy Night was calm.

Finally, a person couldn’t sit still. He was among those who were making fun of Jeremy Night. He appeared to be in his early twenties.

He was a Tier-5 Beast Tamer with a physical talent. He had a steel body. Both his and his Lifeline beast’s talents were the same.

It had granted him a genius title, and he was able to get here into the special base. He walked up to the table of Jeremy Night.

The other Beast Tamers saw this and were surprised.

"Luke, what are you doing?"

"He is backed by Elder John."

"You will be punished."

Luke’s friends were trying to persuade him. But he was not listening at all. He was determined to teach a lesson to Jeremy Night.

Quiet!

There was a pin-drop silence. Those from other factions watched in silence. Since Jeremy Night was from the neutral faction, they couldn’t stop him.

Those with good hearts sighed inwardly. The faction infighting had officially taken the next step forward.

Some with discerning eyes could tell further. Everyone was aware of Elder John behind Jeremy Night.

Since Luke was taking action, then the Elder behind him must have instructed it. They could only feel pity towards Jeremy Night.

Though there wouldn’t be a life-or-death crisis, a slight injury could be expected.

On the other hand, Jeremy Night, who was dining, heard everything without missing a word. He raised his head and saw the blue-haired young man coming towards him.

His brain worked faster. He was coming up with solutions to tackle this problem. He decided not to use his starlight power.

Instead, he would use his eye power to find the weakness. His body strength could be said to be at Tier-4 Rank. He could handle this person.

Luke appeared before him. He directly slammed the table. The food splattered across the ground. The food plate fell down and broke into pieces.

Seeing that Jeremy Night didn’t react, instead, Luke’s gaze fell on him. Every detail of the person was perceived by Jeremy’s eyes. He used his second eye power and immediately saw through his body.

His skeleton and inner organs were visible to his eyes. What he saw were some black dots in the body of the young man.

Both sides of the arms had black spots as well. When he perceived more details, he found the area a bit swollen. His mind instantly became clear.

They were hidden injuries. He decided to target them.

Gasp!

The Beast Tamers in the canteen gasped in surprise. They didn’t expect Luke to behave this rudely. Not only that, the attitude of Jeremy Night shocked them.

They didn’t expect him to remain calm. They had imagined him being flustered and losing his composure in front of the Tier-5 Beast Tamer.

Yet the Tier-3 Beast Tamer was indifferent to Luke’s action.

Luke was shocked inwardly. He heard the words of others. His face reddened in anger. He was slightly flustered. He wasn’t prepared for this scene.

He had thought Jeremy Night would ask for forgiveness. He decided to teach him a lesson soon.

He punched forward all of a sudden. It was aimed at the jaw. The attack was so sudden that everyone was taken aback.

On the other hand, Jeremy used his leg to push against the floor. The next second, the chair moved backward with force. He evaded the punch in that way.

Swoosh!

The punch hit the empty air.

Gasp!

Once again, it drew an exclamation from the crowd. They were surprised to see Jeremy Night evading the attack from close quarters.

If it were others, they would have failed to react this fast. But Jeremy Night was only a Tier-3 Beast Tamer.

They were shocked and surprised. The person who was most shocked was Luke. He knew he had made a sudden attack. Yet, the person had evaded the attack.
