Chapter 926: Came across the killers

4th Zone - Special Base

Jeremy Night was walking towards the entrance. He felt the curious gazes of people on him. Suddenly, he felt gazes filled with killing intent and a piercing coldness.

His heart stirred. He was sure it was from the killers. He wanted to know the faces of the killers so that he could be prepared.

He casually turned around and used his power to zoom in. Then he saw the faces of the six Tier-6 Beast Tamers. They were looking at him with bad intentions.

Their facial reactions were clear. He then memorized their faces in his mind. He turned around and went toward the administration building.

He came across other Beast Tamers on the way. Some of them, like him, were going to submit a mission. He saw a few of them were injured.

Their arms and legs were covered in bandages. While he was looking at them, those Beast Tamers saw him with shock as well.

They wondered how a Tier-3 Beast Tamer remained unscathed. They were aware of Jeremy Night. They knew Jeremy Night could fight across Tiers.

So, none of them thought Jeremy Night didn’t do the mission. Instead, they believed that Jeremy Night did the mission without getting harmed in return.

Jeremy withdrew his gaze and walked into the administration building. His eyes scanned the place. This time, he found Elder Smith.

After walking up to the counter, he submitted the oral report. He couldn’t take the corpses here. There was another room to review the material.

Elder Smith took him toward the room.

They reached the room and entered inside. Jeremy then took out the corpses one by one. He placed them on the floor.

Elder Smith viewed the ten corpses on the ground. There were different types of corrupted beasts. They were neatly killed with a blade.

A hint of approval flashed in Elder Smith’s eyes. The person who requested the mission would be impressed.

"Your credit points and leaderboard points will be updated," Smith said.

Jeremy Night then thanked him before leaving the room. He exited the administration building and went towards the accommodation.

A 10 minutes later,

Jeremy Night returned to the 5th floor. He then reached his room. After entering the room, he shut the door.

Then he went to the bathroom to take a shower. He needed that cold shower. He spent 20 minutes in the bathroom.

After walking out of the bath, he changed into different clothes. Then he drank cold water.

A wave of tiredness washed over him quickly. While fighting against the corrupted beasts earlier, he had been on the edge.

He then went to the bed to sleep.

Meanwhile,

Elder Carter got the news. He learned that Jeremy Night had returned from the mission. He was pissed off.

He didn’t know what had happened to the Beast Taming Team. He called their Captain and learned what happened.

It made him even more angry. They hadn’t found Jeremy Night in the wilderness. That’s why they had waited at the special base entrance.

In the end, they were helpless. They couldn’t take action in front of the special base.

Elder Carter severely warned them. Next time, they should succeed in the mission.

After scolding them, he ended the call.

The following day,

Jeremy Night woke up early. After getting out of bed, he started doing his morning routine. The morning routine lasted for one hour.

Then he entered the practice room. He shut the door.

He went to the console and turned on the switch.

Natural energy came out from the inlet pipe. The natural energy spread across the room. In the blink of an eye, the natural energy filled the room.

He went to the middle of the room and sat cross-legged on the ground. Then he closed his eyes and started running the breathing method.

The natural energy entered his body. He guided the natural energy according to the route mentioned in the inner breathing method.

The natural energy flowed across his body. The greedy cells were activated. They began to absorb the natural energy.

Buzz!

It didn’t take long for the unknown beast egg to activate. The egg began to absorb the natural energy.

Seeing that, Jeremy Night’s heart stirred. He continued to repeat the process.

A few hours later,

Jeremy Night ended the practice. He walked out of the place. He then began to use his blade to practice the Shadow Slash moves.

He unsheathed the blade fast and swung at the dummy.

The Shadow Slash technique relies on a fast draw. So, he was practicing the fast drawing.

After spending a few hours, he switched to the Blade One move. He then began practicing the Blade One move.

Suddenly, he got a call from Elder John. He stopped practicing. He sheathed the blade before attending the call.

"Jeremy Night, what are you doing?" John asked.

"Elder, I returned from the mission last night. I’m resting right now," Jeremy asked back.

"Did you have any problems?" John asked with a hint of doubt.

Jeremy Night’s heart skipped a beat. He didn’t know the meaning behind the question. He did have a problem.

He and Elder John were not that close to share the information.

"Elder John, what do you mean by that?" he asked back.

John said, "I heard that the members in the base started noticing you. There are different factions here. I wanted to know whether anyone approached you."

"If anyone caused a problem, you can tell me," he added.

"No. I’m fine so far," he replied.

"If anyone asks about a faction, you just say you are neutral. If anyone threatens you, then you can use my name," John said in a serious tone.

"Okay," Jeremy Night replied.

Elder John then ended the call.

Jeremy Night put away the device. He couldn’t help but think about the killers. He knew those Tier-6 Beast Tamers were from the second year.

He had already killed one. He would take care of the team silently in the wilderness. So, he didn’t want Elder John to know about it.

He would handle the problem by himself.
