Chapter 924: More missions

4th Zone - Special Base

A few days later,

Jeremy Night went to the administration building. This time, he came across arrogant young people from the 4th zone.

Oscar Fletcher, Sarah, and others were here. They were the only Tier-4 Beast Tamers among the first-years.

The group glanced at him. Then, they turned toward the elder to select a mission.

On the other hand, Jeremy Night turned toward Elder Smith, who was here as well. He just watched the tension between them.

He didn’t know the story. He didn’t ask. He simply gave the device to Jeremy Night to select a mission.

Jeremy Night accepted the device and began to go through the mission list.

[Mission: Go and collect the corpses of Tier-5 Corrupted Beasts. Quantity: 10. Credit Points: 200. Leaderboard Ranking: 500]

Jeremy Night selected this mission from the list. He thought this mission suited him best.

After selecting the mission, he left the place. He didn’t spare them a glance.

He headed to the wilderness. After stepping inside the wilderness, he didn’t look back and rushed toward the depths of the forest.

He was sure that someone would follow him from behind. The mastermind must have known about the death of Rick.

Yet, he didn’t see any major upheaval in the base. Everyone thought the second-year student had died at the hands of a beast.

No one made an inquiry at all. Jeremy Night was genuinely surprised. Yet, it gave him confidence.

If the mastermind was not that concerned, then he would just send more people to their deaths. He went deeper into the forest.

Suddenly, his gaze spotted a group of hybrid dog beasts. His mouth curved into an arc. He extended his right palm.

Then, he used his starlight power. The starlight threads formed like a spiderweb in his palm. He split the thread into a hundred thin pieces.

He was going to try a new attack technique against the hybrid dog beasts. This time, he deliberately went into their territory.

There was a small open patch of land. The hybrid dog beasts were lying on the ground. His appearance immediately alerted them.

Roar!

The six hybrid dog beasts stood up. One of them charged at him the next second. The beast was over 3 meters in size.

Jeremy Night extended his right hand. His palm pointed at the incoming beast. He imitated a blade slash with the silk threads.

Cut!

A hundred silk threads extended from his palm like thin blades.

As the beast got closer to him, he saw that it couldn’t see the thin threads at all. It collided directly into the starlight threads.

Pfff!

The hundred thin threads cut through the body of the beast like butter. The mutilated parts fell to the ground.

The Tier-5 Hybrid Dog beast died and collapsed to the ground. From beginning to end, he hadn’t made a single large movement.

He had simply extended the threads, yet the beast couldn’t spot them.

Roar!

The other beasts were enraged. They attacked him at the same time. This time, he extended his left hand and executed the same move.

A hundred thin threads extended. Now, both of his hands protruded starlight threads.

Pfff!

One by one, the hybrid beasts collided into the starlight threads. Their bodies were cut into pieces. Their bodies were like paper, easily sliced by the threads.

Blood flowed from the corpses and dyed the ground. In the blink of an eye, all six beasts were dead.

Seeing that, he withdrew the threads. The threads disappeared from his palm. He couldn’t believe this had worked out so well.

He had always wanted to make this work. The breakthrough had brought him huge changes. His starlight power was stronger than before.

A single white thread could be seen by anyone. But if he split the thread into a hundred thin threads, he doubted anyone apart from himself could see it.

Even a Tier-5 Beast with good vision couldn’t spot it. He doubted a Beast Tamer could see it either.

He then resumed his journey, heading toward his destination. The mission was to collect ten corpses of Tier-5 Corrupted Beasts.

Unfortunately, he had completely mutilated these. He needed to find another batch quickly.

A few minutes later,

Jeremy Night found another Tier-5 Beast. It was an armored rhino, but it was already injured. He appeared in front of the beast.

He used his blade to give it a clean death. Once the beast was dead, he collected the corpse of the armored rhino.

He still needed to find the corpses of 9 more beasts.

Time passed.

A Beast Taming Team was looking for Jeremy Night in the wilderness. They had been dispatched by Elder Carter.

Ever since that day, Rick hadn’t come back. So, Elder Carter gave a mission to another team in the second year. This time, he made the benefits clear.

He even gave resources to everyone in advance. He made them owe him so that no one could backtrack from the mission.

Therefore, he was sure that the Beast Taming Team would complete the mission this time.

There was just one drawback: the mission parameters were too general. It would be hard for the Beast Taming Team to locate him.

But he believed that the Beast Taming Team would find Jeremy Night eventually.

Time passed.

It didn’t take long for Jeremy Night to come across another Tier-5 Beast. A Tier-5 long black snake was spotted by him.

The black snake was looking for prey to eat, but he found the beast first. Then, he moved closer toward the snake beast.

When he reached the beast, a fight took place. He used his blade to split open the snake’s scales and flesh.

Pfff!

A torrent of blood spurted from the wound. The snake beast hissed out loud. It tried to escape, but he made a few more slashes to end the beast’s life.

He made sure the death wasn’t too gruesome, then he collected the corpse into his storage bracelet.

He then resumed his journey. He didn’t know where the other Beast Tamers were hiding. He was sure that the mastermind would send a team to kill him.
