Chapter 923: Controlling the new strength

4th Zone - Special Base.

Jeremy Night reached the bone cliff. He saw a person rolling over the ground. He was none other than Captain Rick.

He was bleeding from his orifices. His mental zone was cracked. His Lifeline beast was dead. He was a cripple right now.

Jeremy Night walked up to him. His gaze fell on the person. He had been threatening some time ago. Now he was suffering in pain under his feet.

"Captain Rick. It’s over for you," Jeremy said to him.

Hearing that, Rick raised his head. His eyes were bloodshot red. His eyes were bleeding. Seeing that, Jeremy Night was not afraid.

"How did you do that?" Rick asked.

He was terrified. He was still in disbelief that his lifeline beast was dead. His Tier-6 Wolf had a strong speed ability. No one could do anything if it wanted to escape.

Hearing those questions from Rick, he didn’t bother to answer. He kept silent. Rick raised his head and pointed at him. Clearly, he wanted to be saved.

But he understood that Jeremy Night was going to watch him die. He couldn’t believe he had underestimated the young man. He was a monster. He hadn’t just skipped three tiers before.

He had skipped four tiers to kill his Tier-6 Lifeline beast. The bleeding was heavy. As time passed, the bleeding increased. Rick was losing vitality. He gave up.

Slowly, he lost consciousness and fell to the ground. It didn’t take long for his vitality to end. Jeremy Night watched everything coldly from beginning to end.

He hadn’t wanted to do it. But he couldn’t afford to let him escape. Otherwise, he could be facing a Tier-7 or Tier-8 Beast Tamer in future.

He collected his thoughts. He didn’t remove the storage ring. He spared a glance at the corpse before leaving. The corpse would soon be eaten by the higher-tier beasts.

It was the same case with the corpse of the Tier-6 Wolf.

Now that the work was done, he started the return journey. His walk was more confident than before. He was one step away from the 9th Rank. Soon, he would reach the Tier-4 Stage.

This mission gave him a lesson. He thought the wilderness hid more treasures. It was just waiting for him. He needed to take a rest before going deeper. He decided to do that exact thing in the coming days.

He was not afraid of Tier-6 Beasts anymore. He could kill those beasts. He even had some confidence in escaping from a Tier-7 beast as well.

He was slowly reaching the ranks of the important Beast Tamers. He wouldn’t be considered a lower-tier beast tamer anymore.

Time passed.

He found a small stream of running water. He went to the place to clean himself of the impurities. He used his eye power to scan the area.

There was no danger around him. He spent 20 minutes cleaning off the impurities. After completing his bath, he wore a new set of clothes.

Then he resumed his return journey. While going through the forest, he didn’t use his blade. Instead, he used his senses.

The 8th-rank power brought huge changes. He had skipped 4 ranks. The changes were massive. He could see far better without even using his eye power.

His other senses were improved as well. He could hear better and smell better. If he engaged in close-combat fighting with the current changes, it would be overbearing.

Time passed.

Before evening, he reached the base. He had avoided the corrupted beasts using his eye power on the way.

After stepping inside the base, he went to the administration building. The place was quiet. But he knew there were members inside the building.

He entered the administration building. He swept his gaze across the place. There were members and staff. He didn’t find Elder Smith there.

He then called him. When Elder Smith answered the call, he told him that he had returned. Smith was in another building and said he would be there in 5 minutes.

He waited there. In the meantime, he felt many gazes on him. He could see that Elders and some members were watching him.

He ignored them. Elder Smith entered the building. He saw him from the entrance. Smith then went behind the counter.

He then came to Jeremy Night’s side and asked for the report. Jeremy Night gave an oral report and handed over the materials as well.

Smith collected the bone flowers. His eyes were filled with surprise. He knew that bone cliff was dangerous. There were corrupted beasts there.

He truly wanted to ask about the mission, but he didn’t want to break the rules. There were others watching them as well.

"Your credit points and leaderboard points will be credited shortly," Smith said.

Jeremy thanked him before leaving the place.

Smith watched Jeremy Night’s back as he walked away. Suddenly, he felt Jeremy Night seemed to have changed. He couldn’t quite pin it down.

He then began to collect the bone flowers. They had been requested by an important person.

On the other hand, the other elders behind the desk and a few members watched Jeremy Night. They were shocked to learn that Jeremy Night had completed another tough mission.

A few minutes later,

Jeremy Night returned to his room.

2 days passed by.

Jeremy Night didn’t leave his room. He spent time controlling the new strength in his body. Then he practiced his techniques with his current strength.

In the meantime, he spoke with Elder John twice. Elder John wanted to know about his progress. He didn’t hide anything and told him that he was training.

Elder John was impressed. He was glad that Jeremy Night was not blindly doing missions on a daily basis. Practice and rest needed to be balanced.

Meanwhile,

Elder Carter learned about Jeremy Night. He was pissed off. He wondered what had happened to Rick. He didn’t know how a second-year student could fail to do such a simple task.

He could only seek help from others. He needed to find another candidate. He didn’t care about Rick’s life or death.

Even if Rick came back, he decided he would hand the task to someone else. He had lost faith in Rick. He would find a more greedy person next.
