Chapter 349: Chapter 349: Guard Our Home Obediently
Just as she raised the knife to stab Sebastian Sinclair in the chest.
Suddenly, Sebastian grabbed her wrist and simultaneously kicked her in the abdomen!
Florence Sinclair fell to her knees in pain, while Sebastian stood up, twisted her hand, and stabbed the knife into her chest.
Florence’s eyes widened instantly, and she looked down at the knife hilt buried in her body, her face turning pale.
Wasn’t he supposed to be too weak to stand?
The group who was supposed to assist her saw that the situation was bad and dared not stay to fight. One person rushed in, shoved Sebastian, quickly carried the injured Florence on his back, while the others covered their retreat as they hurriedly escaped.
The room suddenly fell silent, with a lingering scent of blood in the air.
Caleb Sinclair strode into the bedroom, seeing Sebastian standing by the wheelchair without any sign of illness, quickly asked, "Uncle, to pretend we were unprepared and not hit too hard, are you okay?"
Sebastian brushed his slightly wrinkled sleeve, towering as he looked at Mrs. Sinclair standing inside the bedroom, his voice cold.
"This is the daughter you’ve cherished for over a decade. For that ungrateful wretch, you’ve been at odds with your own biological daughter. You poured your heart out to her, and this is the result you get. Madam, have you learned your lesson?"
Mrs. Sinclair looked at the quilt on the bed, which had been pierced several times, trembling, and eventually collapsed to the ground, covering her face with her hands.
...
Late at night, at Sean Paxton’s residence.
The secretary rushed in, whispered a few words to him.
Sean Paxton immediately flew into a rage.
"I didn’t agree, how could you take matters into your hands?"
The secretary’s body trembled, eyes flickered.
"I thought the Second Miss Sinclair cooperated well with you before, so... I really didn’t expect this was Elias Langley’s scheme. If I had known, I definitely wouldn’t have taken Florence Sinclair in."
Sean’s face turned red with anger, staying silent as if in thought.
"Those people were masked, I couldn’t identify them. It was only after receiving Florence Sinclair that I realized Caleb Donovan was following. Sir, what now? Elias Langley has set a trap against you, how do we escape?"
Elias Langley’s scheme is not frightening; what’s frightening is there’s another layer within it.
Sean picked up the phone, found Dylan Paxton’s number, and dialed.
But the other end was "turned off."
Sean suddenly understood everything.
He silently stared at the landscape painting in the study, not making any sound for a long time, the secretary didn’t dare to breathe loudly.
Suddenly, Sean let out a low laugh.
He opened the desk drawer, took out a silenced pistol, and loaded it calmly.
"What to do?" His tone was eerily calm, "Face him head-on, of course. The best place... naturally, international waters."
The secretary immediately expressed concern, "Will that work? Sir, perhaps you should contact the old man again. Explain clearly, even if Elias Langley has evidence, the old man will surely back you up."
Everyone knows his uncle’s temperament; if someone becomes a real threat, he never hesitates to strike.
The evidence Florence Sinclair holds is enough to condemn him.
Clearly, Dylan Paxton already decided he was inefficient, leaving him a fatal flaw, and thus abandoned him.
But at this moment, Sean showed no emotion, simply raising his hand calmly.
"Isn’t that what you’re hoping for, that he abandons me?"
Before the secretary could react, there was a soft noise.
The secretary’s eyes widened in disbelief, slowly falling down.
Sean put down the gun, looking down at his gradually glazing over pupils, chuckled lightly, "Once wasn’t enough to plot against me, had to do it a second time. Since you’re so eager to send me off, why don’t you go first."
He made a phone call, and within five minutes, his trusted aide arrived.
Taking one glance at the dead secretary on the floor, the aide stepped right over the body.
"Sir, Florence Sinclair is severely injured and could die at any moment, how do we handle her?"
Sean had already put on his coat.
"Clean up here, don’t let Madam see. Bring Florence Sinclair onboard; since Elias Langley wants so much to bring me down, I’ll settle it with him on the open sea."
The aide nodded, immediately and quietly beginning the cleanup.
Sean sat alone in the study for a while, then got up to leave.
Walking through the living room, Felicity was coming out of the bedroom wearing a robe.
Her sleepy eyes indicated she just woke up.
"Heading out so late?"
"Mind your own business."
Felicity pouted.
Sean took a few steps, paused, then turned back to look at her.
"Felicity, do you think... couples in arranged marriages aren’t entitled to ’love’?"
Felicity was taken aback, then lowered her eyes, "Affection is about empathy. After all, who would like someone who keeps secrets?"
Sean remained silent for two seconds, came back, and embraced her.
"After tonight, there won’t be any secrets from you."
Felicity felt that Sean was unusual tonight.
"What exactly are you going to do?"
Sean cradled her face, kissed her gently, looking relaxed.
"After I leave, if you’re bored, you can use the computer in my study. The password is your birthday."
With that, he left without waiting for Felicity’s reaction.
Felicity stood there stunned, coming back to her senses only after the sound of an engine faded from the courtyard...
At this moment, Sinclair Manor’s main building was brightly lit.
Juliana Jacobs sat on the sofa, having just eaten a bowl of the sweet glutinous rice balls made by Mrs. Sinclair’s kitchen, feeling a slight warmth in her limbs.
Meanwhile, Elias Langley and Sebastian Sinclair stood by the carved window, talking quietly.
Just then, Raine Kane hurriedly walked in.
"Sir, Sean Paxton took Florence Sinclair to the docks, could he be planning to escape by sea?"
Elias’s gaze sharpened.
After a brief moment of thought, he instructed Raine, "You stay behind."
"But..." Raine knew he wanted to keep her to protect Juliana Jacobs, "Your outing is very dangerous, I’m skilled enough."
Elias gave a faint, faint smile, "Then don’t let down my wife’s teachings."
He picked up the coat draped over the chair and walked straight out.
"Elias Langley!"
Juliana Jacobs rushed in front of him.
"I’m coming with you!"
For some reason, ever since night fell, she felt inexplicably uneasy, and now it was even more so.
Elias gave her a deep look, suddenly reached out to draw her close, leaving a kiss on her lips.
"This is between Sean Paxton and me, it has nothing to do with you. As for Florence Sinclair, she no longer serves any purpose. I’ll bring her back and leave her to you to deal with. What I need from you now is to guard our home and wait for my news."
The hem of Juliana’s clothes in Elias’s light grip gradually slipped away.
"Then you must come back safely."
Elias smiled and nodded, turning to swiftly get in the car and leave.
As soon as he left, Juliana didn’t intend to stay at the Sinclair Manor either.
Instructing Raine to grab her coat, she too headed out.
"Juliana," Mrs. Sinclair called after her, "It’s so late, and you’d be alone if you went back. Why not stay, and we can all wait for news together."
