Chapter 60: Praising him?

That had been his dream all along, to rise to the top along with his sons by his side, and the world would respect the name ’Allistar’.

Teon had envisioned a dynasty of unmatched power, a family of hunters so formidable that even the world would have to bow to their influence.

Since Leon had awakened an F-rank talent, he felt that dream of his shatter. It felt like a personal insult to his S-rank legacy, a flaw that threatened to ruin everything he had spent decades building.

He didn’t waste any time before casting him out, as having a useless player in their midst would bring shame instead of the recognition he wanted.

Teon had always been a man of cold, calculated decisions. To him, weakness was a contagious disease that could tarnish the Roaring Lions’ fierce reputation.

By quickly throwing the boy out like garbage and publicly stripping him of his family name, he had attempted to cut away the rot before it could damage his grand ambitions.

Now though, seeing Leon easily kill two B-rank players, and also clearing a C-rank dungeon on his own proved that he might have judged him too early.

The undeniable proof was playing right in front of his eyes on the television screen.

A level-seven novice simply did not possess the ability to slaughter high-rank veteran players unless they possessed monstrous potential that surpassed everyone’s wildest expectations.

He didn’t even care how Leon might have gotten that powerful, only concerned with bringing him back into the guild.

To an S-rank powerhouse like Teon, the path to strength was irrelevant compared to the actual results.

The only thing that registered in his greedy mind was the immense value the boy now held as a asset for the Roaring Lions.

Any questions he had, would come after Leon was back by his side. There would be plenty of time to interrogate the boy, extract his secrets, and study the source of his mysterious abilities once he was securely locked under the family’s control again.

Right now, the priority was to retrieve the asset and secure his loyalty before other rival S-rank guilds could realize his true value and try to recruit him first.

Yeon stuttered, his voice shaking with a mixture of intense jealousy and sheer disbelief at his father’s extreme casualness.

He took a small step forward, waving his hands as he said, "Aren’t you being a little... unrealistic, dad? You chased him out, used your influence to make sure every other guild rejected him... until he had no choice but to turn to Ran."

He wanted to drag his father back to reality, reminding him of the cruel, systematic torment they had intentionally inflicted on the boy.

Yeon paused for a moment, swallow the lump in his throat as the grim memories of Leon’s treatment at the academy flashed through his mind.

"I don’t think I need to tell you what Ran and his party did to him... one time... I even saw a vid of him almost completely naked dancing over fire and them laughing at him." he continued.

They hadn’t just ignored him; they had actively pushed him into a living hell where he was subjected to the most sickening, humiliating abuse imaginable by Ran and his friends.

Yeon knew that after suffering through such absolute degradation, there was no way Leon would ever willingly return to the family that had served him up to his torturers on a silver platter.

In all honesty, Yeon had also found that video extremely funny, and even had it saved in his phone till today. It was his favorite thing to look at whenever he was having a bad day or feeling stressed by his own demanding schedule.

The pathetic sight of his twin brother being reduced to a laughingstock by low-rank players was the perfect medicine for his fragile ego.

He watched it regularly, reminding himself of how far his former ’rival’ had fallen.

Back when they were children, there was a brief time when he feared Leon might actually surpass him and steal their father’s favor.

Watching that specific video was his daily reassurance that those childhood fears were completely foolish.

Teon placed a hand on his chin, acting like he was pondering for a while as he stared down at the desk.

After a long moment of silence, he looked up and said, "Yeah, that’s a bit bad... it’s good Ran and his party members are dead now, don’t you think?"

Yeon’s eyes widened to their absolute limits, and he muttered, "W-what?"

The casual, almost cheerful way his father dismissed the brutal deaths of their own guild players made his stomach turn.

He stared at the older man in disbelief, his throat tightening as the chilling implications of that statement began to sink deep into his chest.

Ran was an exceptionally promising A-rank talent of their guild, a highly valuable asset that they had spent a lot to groom and support.

Yet, his father was sitting there talking about his death as if it were a positive turn of events. Yeon was completely sure that Teon at this point already knew that Leon was the one that wiped out Ran’s party inside that gate.

The coincidence was just too much for anyone with half a brain to ignore, let alone an S-rank guildmaster who monitored everything.

Leon was the only other person who entered the dungeon along with Ran and his party, and he was the only one who had walked back out alive.

To make things even more obvious, his sudden rise in power made it clear that he had conquered the entire dungeon himself.

That same dungeon was later destroyed in a massive, violent explosion, and Ran and his party were never to be heard of or seen again.

Since Ran was an official player of their guild, Leon was basically a cold-blooded criminal who had killed one of their guild members.

Teon however, was here praising him instead of calling for his head.
