Chapter 289: The End of The Supernaturals (II)

"99% of Human Civilization has been overtaken, with the 1% being what we have here at Humanity Ascension, of course."

"Around 79% of those civilizations have Supernatural and Humans co-existing...and by co-existing, I mean.."

"Don’t bother."

The calm words cut through the first speaker as a total of thirty pairs of eyes turned to look at the singular robed person sitting amongst them.

It was a large golden hall that had every remaining Overlord Power on Earth, including all Galaxy Ranked Members, gathered together to discuss their next path.

"I’ve seen enough of their ’co-existing’ on my way here..."

White completed.

"What I need is the exact location of civilizations where there are no Humans at all. Only Supernaturals."

He continued, and a Galaxy-Ranked member answered.

"That’s only 20% of Earthian Civilization, mostly lower Supernatural races kept away because they’ve been deemed too unintelligent to co-operate with Humans."

"You mean to say they can’t resist their instinct of sinking their claws into the necks of human beings?"

"Yes. That... that summarizes it more clearly."

"Then we start the destruction from there."

White said, rising to his feet.

"Absolutely not!"

The louder voice echoed out, though it was futile in stopping White from standing.

"The forces we have here in Humanity Ascension are for one purpose only. To protect the freedom Humanity still has."

"Even that 20% of Supernaturals can still wipe out over 40% of the only Human forces we have left! This isn’t just a stupid idea. It is one that will doom us all!"

"This evil being from whatever God-forsaken planet he has come from will only— ACKK!"

The words didn’t finish when the old man’s throat was grabbed by a pitch-black hand as White mysteriously appeared before him, having raised him high into the air.

"Let him go!"

Many of the Galaxy-Ranked members growled out, unleashing their auras, and preparing to step in but.

The old man that White had grabbed wasn’t any ordinary member.

He was a man who was just as respected as Ultimate Err himself.

Yet before any of them could move to stop White,

"Halt!"

The voice echoed through the hall as shocked eyes turned to look at the one who had spoken.

It was none other than Ultimate Err himself.

CRAAAACK!

The sharp sound of bones cracking echoed out like lightning, drawing their attention back as they turned to find blood pouring onto the ground.

It spilled from the old man’s ears, eyes, and nose as White continuously squeezed.

"Will you keep hiding it..."

He whispered to the old man, who slowly began to spasm.

"Will you continue to be their slave... even as your pathetic life is being drained from you?"

"You..."

The old man forced out, blood spilling from his lips.

"...are evil."

"They must have promised you rewards beyond your imagination, haven’t they?"

White continued with an evident smile of mockery.

"But here you are. A couple seconds from dying a useless death that will not be avenged..."

"Do you not understand? You’re nothing! Hehehehehehehe!"

A terrifying evil cackle that reeked of mockery echoed through the hall like a hyena’s laugh as White burst into insane laughter, his hand squeezing tighter than ever.

"STOP IT!"

A Galaxy-Ranked member growled, taking a step toward White.

"I said stand down."

The growl echoed in his ear as Ultimate Err appeared behind him grabbing his shoulders tightly.

"But... he’s killing him! He’s killing Ultimate Noran! For what?"

"You’ll see."

In times of war, many currencies lose their meaning, and one thing comes to stand above all else, especially to those on the losing side:

Safety.

That was what had been promised to Noran after he had been captured by them.

They had given him Supernatural power, enough for him to perform ’noble’ actions that allowed him to gain respect equal to that of Ultimate Err himself.

And for the past five years, all he had been tasked with was being a spy, sending information to the Supernaturals about what was happening within Humanity Ascension.

This had allowed him two things.

One was the respect of his Human race that he had betrayed.

The second was safety.

That if the Supernaturals ever came to destroy Humanity Ascension, he would be spared, having secretly been one of them all this time.

All in all, he had been promised, and knew well, that even if everyone else died, he would survive.

Yet here he was.

He, in all of his mightiness, being strangled to death.

Even with all of his Supernatural power, the grip holding him was like death itself, impossible to evade.

And when he looked down and saw that death laughing in mockery as it slowly took away his life,

A nauseating wave of anger and indescribable betrayal struck his heart.

Especially when he looked behind him, expecting those he believed would have his back.

Yet all remained in their seats.

He watched Old Err, one he believed was a friend, holding back a Galaxy-Ranked member who seemed intent on stopping his death.

All of it led to a realization.

"He’ll kill me....and they all will watch me die... pathetically."

Death.

The one thing he had feared so much that he betrayed his own race to avoid it.

And now it was being delivered to him.

This wasn’t what the Supernaturals had promised him.

They had betrayed him. Everyone had betrayed him.

All of that emotion was the key needed for the chain to break.

ROOOOOOAAAAAR!

A roar that sounded nothing like a human’s.

All froze as they watched Ultimate Noran’s mouth suddenly widen, his jaw replaced by a beastly maw from which four abyssal tongues drooping with green poison instantly lunged toward White.

His body tore apart his clothes.

His frame became massive as snake-like scales began covering his skin.

Yet halfway through that transformation,

CLAAAAP!

BOOOOOOOOOOM!

A heavy clap rang out as two more pitch-black arms suddenly emerged from beneath White’s robes and smashed into opposite sides of Ultimate Noran’s head.

It was like a knife through butter, the palms tearing through the skull and meeting at the center.

Brain matter and blood splashed through the air as white slowly withdrew his hands, leaving dark blood gushing repeatedly from the now-headless corpse.

His grip finally loosened, and Ultimate Noran’s body hit the floor, still stuck in a half-Supernatural transformation.

It left most of the Galaxy-Ranked members in two kinds of shock.

The first was that a pillar of Humanity, one respected almost as much as Ultimate Err, now lay dead before them, killed by having his brain clapped apart.

The second was the Supernatural transformation that had appeared right before his death.

Could it be...?

"You know..."

White said, waving his hand and sending the blood and tissue away from him.

"I could have waited until he transformed fully into a Supernatural before killing him. That way it’d be obvious to all of you that he was never on your side."

White noted, grabbing a handkerchief from Noran’s table and wiping away the remaining stains.

"But then I remembered something important."

Throwing the handkerchief away, he turned toward them.

His expression wasn’t serious in the slightest, only amused.

"Most of you here are not worthy of being convinced, as you all are nothing... just like him."

He stated, sending living anger radiating through the room.

"Fools who can’t tell the difference between a Human being and a monster holding their entire race captive and seeking their total destruction.

He mocked with a scoff before calling out.

"Ultimate Err."

The robed man removed his hand from the shoulder of the Galaxy-Ranked member he had restrained and turned toward White.

"You knew Noran was a Supernatural spy, didn’t you? I wonder why you never exposed him."

White asked.

It was something that genuinely puzzled him, but the reply made a gleam of light cross through his eyes.

"I knew he was."

Ultimate Err admitted as the Galaxy-Ranked members turned toward him in shock.

"But he performed actions during the war that won the respect of the majority of Galaxy-Ranked Awakeners."

"If I had ordered his execution while claiming he was a Supernatural, there was a high chance they would’ve believed I was merely jealous that someone else had earned their respect."

"That is something that could have divided the power structure within Humanity Ascension, a chance the Supernaturals could then use to destroy all of us."

"For that reason, I chose to pretend I didn’t know."

The man said, leaving the hall in chilling silence.

"You know it’s just like you said, White..."

"Fools who can’t differentiate between Humanity and the monsters that seek to destroy it."
