Chapter 288: The End of The Supernaturals (I)

There were some Galaxy-Ranked Awakeners whose faces he could recognize.

His gaze moved past them, piercing through a peculiar castle-like building in the distance before settling on a person who immediately stirred from his seat.

"You know, Ultimate Commander Err, a part of me feels like all of this..."

White said, his eyes faintly scanning everything around him.

"...is quite commendable, perhaps worthy of a clap. But judging by the fact that I just saw Supernaturals walking so freely amongst Human Civilization."

"I feel like any applause from me would be wasted instead."

Though his voice was as calm as a gently flowing stream, it pierced through more than ten thousand kilometers, ringing throughout the golden hall where a man sat surrounded by three other humans, all of them Galaxy-Ranked.

"Don’t fall for it, Err. This is undoubtedly his trap!"

One of the Galaxy-Ranked members said to the dark-robed commander whose expression was hidden beneath a cloud-like smoky mask.

Within, Err’s heart was thumping beyond control.

His senses, sharpened to their limits, could perceive nothing at all from the man in the hologram before him.

There were no readings on his energy waves. Heck, there weren’t even any energy waves, yet the system identifier was marking him as a Calamity-Grade Disaster.

One had to know that the last time an Alpha Anomalous Creature stepped into this place, it still wasn’t marked as a Calamity Grade.

And to make it worse, he felt something he couldn’t understand.

A wave of familiarity.

This being, whoever it was, felt incredibly familiar.

And in the next moment, Ultimate Err rose to his feet.

"He’s been surrounded from all sides. Let’s join in."

He called out to the three Galaxy-Ranked members beside him, and a massive vortex opened.

They all stepped in and re-appeared right outside the circle of Galaxy-Ranked Awakeners surrounding the being whose gaze quietly focused on Ultimate Err.

The wave of familiarity within Err increased even further, a blurry image of a figure appearing in his mind, yet he still couldn’t identify him.

"You’re not an enemy..."

Ultimate Err said.

"Reveal your identity."

At those words, there was a moment of silence as they watched the being turn his eyes toward one Galaxy-Ranked member among them before looking back at Ultimate Err.

"The Balance... will be broken."

He said.

And in that moment,

FLICKER!

There was a flash of golden light as the Galaxy-Ranked member White had first looked at lost control of his aura.

"It’s you..."

Galaxy Aletherion called out in disbelief.

"White Sinclaw."

Ultimate Err completed.

Galaxy Aletherion could not forget.

The anomaly that Ultimate Err had left under his supervision, one that he had ultimately lost control of.

The last image of White before he disappeared remained etched into his mind.

Nor could he forget the message White had asked him to relay to Ultimate Err as he walked away with those beings of darkness.

[A/N: This is at Chapter 244, A Battle Beyond.]

"You traitor!"

Galaxy Altherion forced out in anger.

"You left Humanity alone and sided with those beings. No... you’re one of them!"

He claimed.

"I see..."

White mused, nodding slowly.

"The Supernaturals didn’t just defeat you. They also managed to knock out some of your brain cells while they were at it."

"You bas—"

"That’s enough!"

Ultimate Err said, and Galaxy Altherion, who was oozing energy, froze.

"Deactivate the arrays. Everyone stand down."

He continued.

The runic law-domes surrounding White were deactivated, and the majority of the Galaxy-Ranked Awakeners stepped back, though in a way that still formed a wall between him and Ultimate Err.

"Even with all the changes, they still take your orders as absolute. Good to see at least some things didn’t change."

"You left without any warning, White. It’s been twenty years since then."

Ultimate Err called out with a sigh.

"There was neither the time nor the need for a goodbye. You knew I’d be back."

White replied.

"Or do you think twenty years is enough time for me to lose my hatred for Supernaturals? Or enough time for you to lose yours?"

"Watch how you speak—"

A Galaxy-Ranked Awakener did not finish those words before Ultimate Err raised a hand, stopping him.

"Not even death itself will make me lose my hatred for those abominable creatures, White. Though I must say the repeated failures of my methods seem to have dwindled my faith in it all."

"I told you your plans were imperfect. Humanity does not have that much time."

"We came close..."

Ultimate Err refuted.

"But ultimately, it was only what it was... close."

"And now?"

White asked.

"We’re hiding away, guiding the last vestige of freedom Humanity has left while hoping for some miracle from God himself."

"I cannot say for certain that it was God himself who sent me..."

White claimed.

"For by myself, I might just be the purest embodiment of this universe’s darkness."

"And I come with one purpose only."

At that moment, they watched the world suddenly fall into a creeping stillness, as though Time itself had been forced to a halt.

And following that came a sound that sent ripples through even the farthest corners of Earth.

A line cut through the darkened skies of Earth.

And for a second, every object present upon the planet seemed to turn transparent like glass.

Even the Humans and Supernaturals deep underground saw the earth above them become transparent, allowing them to witness the tear in the sky as it widened and widened.

Finally, something emerged from it:

A face massive beyond comprehension, in a color so dark it seemed nonexistent.

Yet every single being upon Earth could feel the horrifying aura emanating from it.

The face had no eyes, no ears, and no mouth.

But it had horns.

Great horns curving upward like branches across the upper part of its head.

Pitch-black hair fell upon the world as millions of runic letters and symbols flashed across its surface.

All eyes turned upward, souls frozen by petrifying horror, all in seeming wait for something and...it came.

A Call:

"Oh, you Supernaturals... transgressors of Mother Nature."

The words echoed throughout Earth.

Not through speakers.

Not through technology.

But through the life force of every intelligent being.

A force that made every being capable of thought hear the words as though they were being spoken directly beside them.

"While your descent upon this world was beyond your own will, for years since the appearance of the Apexial Doom Rift, you have done nothing but cast horror upon this world."

"Every nation...you broke."

"Every Human soul...you devoured as though it had no meaning."

"And every Human being...you forced to kneel before your monstrous selves."

"The power you possessed has done nothing but reveal what you truly are."

"An infestation against the natural order that births nothing but chaos."

"And for that reason, I decree an absolute upon you all:

"The age of your dominion ends today."

"Demon."

"Vampire."

"Werewolf."

"Spirit."

"Shadow Walker."

"Banshee."

"Whatever name you choose to hide behind shall make no difference."

"You will not be given the option to kneel...Only the option of damnation by death."

"Call upon those slumbering monstrous ancestors of yours...Or hide away within dimensions."

"Certain it is that death shall still find you!"

The skies split further apart.

Millions of runes ignited like flames across the face beyond the heavens.

A darkness older than nations began spreading across the atmosphere.

And down within the cities populated by Supernaturals, something began to spread.

A wave of energy beyond explanation.

Fear.

Not the fear born from uncertainty, not the fear that came from facing a stronger opponent.

It was a fear that seemed woven into the very fabric of existence, like a declaration from reality that something was fundamentally wrong.

The feeling swept through every corner of Earth, through cities ruled by Supernaturals, hidden kingdoms concealed beneath mountains, vast underground domains and isolated dimensions connected to the world through Spatial gates mostly crafted by Supernaturals.

No wall could stop it, not any formation or power block it.

It simply arrived, ad when it did, countless Supernaturals found themselves frozen where they stood.

"For every Human being upon this world, you shall witness the skies above you turn into a sea of blood-red."

"And bones rise higher than the civilizations you have built."

"Evil as these signs may be, do not fear them."

"This is the salvation the billions who now rest beneath this Earth have waited for."

"Hope has come for the Human Species."

"Not from Light..."

"But from the deepest depths of Darkness itself."
