Chapter 950: Chapter 930: Inducing Labor to Give Birth

Liang Anya stepped into the examination room for her prenatal check-up. As soon as she closed the door, a tall and athletic figure crossed the threshold and gently locked it behind.

She was startled. Upon seeing the young man standing in front of her, her voice rose in an emotional pitch, "Brother! What are you doing here—"

The young man before her was none other than Liang Jue, who had just returned to the country from Italy.

The doctor in charge of Liang Anya’s prenatal check-up had evidently been bribed by Liang Jue beforehand and whispered, "Hurry up, both of you."

Liang Jue’s eyes darkened as he glanced at her prominent belly. Ignoring her question, he pulled her to a corner of the room and demanded, "How could you keep something this important from me and dad?!"

The excitement in Liang Anya’s heart quickly faded. She instantly realized that her brother already knew everything—and not only that, he must have a clear grasp of how strictly she was being monitored. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have resorted to meeting her in secret. Lowering her voice, she murmured, "Brother, how did you find out?"

"Last week, we heard about Xiaoyi’s car accident and how he fell into a coma in America. Something didn’t add up. For such a serious incident, you didn’t inform me or dad? Adding to that, it’s been two or three months since you’ve called either one of us! It felt even more suspicious, so I contacted Huo Shao. That’s when I pieced the story together. You’ve kept us in the dark so thoroughly, Anya. Dad is livid! If I hadn’t held him back and coaxed him into letting me meet with you secretly first to figure things out, he would’ve stormed over by now and dragged you back home with him!"

Liang Anya quickly grabbed Liang Jue’s arm. "Don’t let Dad look for them. You know exactly who they are—they’re members of Beiming Hall in A Country. These people are capable of anything!"

"Not look for them? Your due date is near! This child will definitely be born, but are you really willing to hand over your child to him? What are you, a breeding machine?" Liang Jue’s veins bulged with anger.

Hand the child over to him...

Liang Anya clenched her fist. Raising her head, she firmly declared, "No. I don’t want to give the child to him."

Liang Jue revealed his plan: "Anya, I know Si Yuheng isn’t in town these few days. This is our chance. In two days, find an excuse—say that your belly is hurting. They’ll definitely bring you to the hospital for a check-up. When that happens, Dad and I will figure out a way to sneak you out. We can move to any city to lie low for a while. No matter how powerful these people are, they’re not Chinese. China is so vast—it’s impossible for them to search the whole country, right? Over time, as they fail to locate you, their urgency will naturally fade."

Without hesitation, she shut down his idea: "No, Brother, that won’t work."

What Liang Jue didn’t understand was how deeply obsessive Si Yuheng had become over this child, which could very well be his only offspring. There was no way he’d ever give up on it.

One day, two days without finding the baby—he might look for them for a month, two months, or even a year or two...

Were they supposed to spend their whole lives running and hiding from him?

Liang Jue noticed the hesitation on his sister’s face and frowned. "Then what do we do?"

Liang Anya steadied herself and leaned closer to whisper something into Liang Jue’s ear.

It was an idea that had taken root in her heart yesterday when she learned that Si Yuheng was infertile.

But under the watchful eyes of Kasey and the others, she’d had no way to act on it.

Now that her brother was here, perhaps she could give it a try...

This was the only way to sever Si Yuheng’s unrelenting hold on her completely.

Otherwise, even if she escaped, he would eventually catch her again.

After hearing her plan, Liang Jue paused for a moment but said nothing further. He turned and walked toward the doctor.

"Doctor, I need you to prepare an injection immediately."

The doctor blinked in surprise. "What kind of injection?"

"A labor-inducing injection."

After the check-up, the group returned to the villa.

As soon as Liang Anya entered her room, Kasey slammed the door shut, once again imprisoning her like a criminal.

Staring at the closed door, Liang Anya reached into her pocket and pulled out a syringe and a small vial of medication. Gritting her teeth, she drew the liquid into the syringe, rolled up her sleeve, and exposed her pale, tender skin.

Back in college, she had joined the campus Red Cross and had learned some basic first-aid skills, including simple subcutaneous injections.

Using a hair tie to bind her forearm, she located a vein, aimed the needle, and, despite her nerves, steeled herself to push it in.

If she wanted to escape, she had to induce labor immediately.

She could not afford to wait for that man to come back.

This might be her one and only chance.

Kasey, Beiming Hall, and even Si Yuheng himself—they couldn’t be 100% sure that the child in her womb was his.

Kasey had said before that as soon as the baby was born, they would immediately conduct a DNA test.

Maybe there was an opening she could seize here...

Her only prayer now was that the baby wouldn’t bear any distinct A Country genetic traits and would look entirely Asian...

As the slight sting faded and the last of the medication was injected into her body, the labor-inducing drug began to take effect.

The doctor had warned her: barring any complications, the injection should bring on labor by tonight.

Placing her hand on her belly, she felt the fetus inside kick slightly and instinctively murmured softly, "Baby, I’ll need you to come into this world a little earlier than planned, okay? Don’t worry. The doctor said you’re big enough and healthy enough—this won’t harm you in any way."

As if understanding her words, the baby grew unusually quiet.

*******************************

By late that night, Liang Anya went into labor.

Her due date had been a week away, and everyone in the villa assumed she would wait until the Hall Master returned to Yunling to give birth. No one expected her to go into labor now, catching them all off guard.

Fortunately, a private doctor was on hand. Amidst the chaos, Kasey barked out orders to have Liang Anya carried to a car and rushed to the hospital.

......

During her pregnancy, Liang Anya had pored over countless articles and accounts of labor, mentally preparing herself for the infamous level-nine pain scale of childbirth—but nothing could have prepared her for the reality of it.

On the birthing table, under the harsh light of the operating room, she clenched her eyes shut, feeling as though the baby was tearing her body in two.

And the one responsible for inflicting this agony upon her—from thousands of miles away—was, of course, that man.

In the midst of the excruciating pain, she cursed Si Yuheng’s ancestors back eighteen generations in her heart.

At last, as dawn broke, the obstetrician gave the baby’s bottom a firm pat, and the piercing, loud cry of a newborn filled the room!

Drained of all energy, she heard the doctor and midwife exchange a few words—"It’s a girl, six pounds and two ounces..."—before a sense of relief washed over her. Finally, she succumbed to exhaustion and passed out.

...

Meanwhile, outside the delivery room, several Beiming Hall subordinates who’d been standing guard faintly heard the newborn’s cries. They turned to Kasey and asked, "Do we follow the Hall Master’s instructions now?"

At the sound of the infant’s wails, Kasey’s brows furrowed tightly. So, this Chinese woman had finally given birth—to the Hall Master’s child. Whether boy or girl, this baby could very well be the Hall Master’s only heir and the future leader of Beiming Hall.

And this Liang Anya... What on earth had she done to deserve such a fate?
