Chapter 951: Chapter 931 Testing Newborn DNA
If it weren’t for the Hall Master’s secret illness, which prevented him from having heirs, there’s no way the woman giving birth to Beiming Hall’s future successor would be an ordinary girl from China!
Last night, Liang Anya had gone into labor unexpectedly early, and Kasey immediately called A Country to inform the Hall Master.
Other than instructing her to proceed according to the previous plan, the Hall Master surprisingly added another command: Once the DNA report confirms it’s his child, bring both the mother and the baby back to A Country together.
Kasey was stunned at the time: Bring the mother and the baby back to A Country together?
Si Yuheng’s words finally turned Kasey’s suspicions from the past few days into reality.
The Hall Master not only wanted the child, but the mother as well.
Bring Liang Anya back to A Country? Kasey could barely imagine this happening.
The Hall Master had many women, but none had ever given birth to his heir. If Liang Anya returned to his country, she would inevitably become the most important woman by his side.
Hearing her subordinate’s question, Kasey suppressed her displeasure and finally spoke:
"Alright, bring out the Hall Master’s hair for the doctor immediately to run the DNA test. Once the paternity match is confirmed, take the baby... and Liang Anya back to A Country without delay."
Even though she was entirely unwilling to let Liang Anya go to A Country as well, Kasey had no choice but to follow the Hall Master’s orders.
She didn’t dare cross him—his temper was too explosive.
The Hall Master might not have been physically present, but samples for DNA testing could easily be collected from his personal belongings at any time.
Before sending Liang Anya to the hospital tonight, Kasey had instructed her subordinates to collect a few strands of hair from the Hall Master’s comb.
Upon being told that Liang Anya would also be brought back to the country, the subordinate was momentarily startled but said nothing further and left to carry out the task immediately.
****************
When she woke up, Liang Anya was already out of surgery and lying in the hospital room.
The private room was a high-end single suite—clearly the best one in the entire hospital.
Outside the window, the sky had turned dusky. It was already evening.
A full day had passed since she had given birth.
The pain below still lingered, but her mind suddenly cleared as she called out.
A nanny, who was tidying up in the adjoining bathroom of the hospital room, immediately emerged upon hearing her call, saying, "Miss Liang."
"Where’s the baby?"
"In the nursery downstairs," the nanny quickly replied with a smile. "It’s a little princess—beautiful and healthy. I’ve worked as a nanny for many families, but I’ve never seen such an exquisite little girl."
Upon hearing about the baby’s appearance, Liang Anya’s heart raced, and she quickly lifted her blanket. "I want to see her."
"Miss Liang, you’ve just given birth. Don’t rush. The nurse will bring the baby up for feeding soon."
"No, I want to see her right now."
The nanny, feeling helpless, had no choice but to support her as they went downstairs.
...
At the nursery, Liang Anya approached the large glass window, her heart pounding with anticipation.
Numerous newborns were lying side by side, making it nearly impossible to distinguish which one was hers.
Yet, there seemed to be a natural, almost innate connection between mother and daughter. Her gaze was drawn to the baby lying right in the center.
This little one was far more active than the other babies around her. Though just born, her head was already covered in thick black hair, and her bright, shining eyes were wide open as she sucked on her thumb. She even looked out toward Liang Anya through the glass, as if recognizing her mother. Her tiny, tender legs kicked playfully at the air.
Liang Anya breathed a sigh of relief.
She didn’t care how beautiful the baby was, only that she didn’t resemble him.
Seeing her now, at last, she felt reassured.
The baby seemed to have inherited more of her genes.
Black irises, black hair, and skin with a light wheat-colored tone—she had the appearance of a child with an Asian lineage.
Luckily, she didn’t inherit the man’s piercing blue eyes and skin so pale it was almost transparent.
This would make things much easier.
If this baby had been born looking like him, everything in the future would have been for nothing.
All that remained now was to leave the rest to fate...
A burst of crying from one of the infants pulled Liang Anya back from her thoughts. Looking through the glass at the sea of crying babies agitated by the noise, she noticed hers was the only one unbothered by the commotion. She continued sucking her thumb, looking around curiously, her soft, pink lips turning upward in what seemed like a blissful smile.
Having grandchildren of her own, the nanny was particularly fond of sweet little babies and couldn’t help but smile. "I told you, Miss Liang—your baby is healthy and beautiful! Look, most newborns don’t open their eyes for a few days after birth, but our little princess opened hers in just one day. She’s already looking around and smiling—she’s even livelier than the boys! Ah, mixed-race children really are brilliant."
The words "mixed-race" drained the smile from Liang Anya’s face.
Having served her for so long, the nanny could tell Liang Anya had been forced to stay at the villa by Mr. Si against her will. Perhaps even the pregnancy and childbirth weren’t consensual. Seeing her mood shift, the nanny quickly shut her mouth.
She didn’t want her baby’s first impression of her to be one of sadness.
Her baby loved to smile so much—how could she, as her mother, wear a sullen face?
"I’ll call you Xiaoxiao, alright?" Gathering her strength, she smiled at her daughter, who was as soft and pink as a little ball of cotton candy. "Xiaoxiao, please take care of me from now on."
**************************
Thanks to her youth and the fact that she had given birth naturally, Liang Anya recovered very quickly postpartum.
During her days in the hospital, she keenly noticed that the Beiming Hall staff seemed to treat her with far more attention than before. They surrounded her constantly, ensuring the nanny prepared nourishing soups to replenish her strength everyday.
She had thought that after giving birth, completing her "task," these people might relax and become less attentive, but surprisingly, they were behaving even more deferentially than during her pregnancy—borderline sycophantic, in fact.
Kasey, on the other hand, seemed more sullen and hostile than ever.
She didn’t think too deeply about it. Her mind was preoccupied with a far more pressing matter—
She knew that the moment the baby had been taken out of the delivery room, Kasey had already arranged for someone to collect a sample of blood from the baby’s finger to compare against Si Yuheng’s DNA.
DNA test results typically take seven days to arrive, but since an expedited request had been made, it would take, at most, three days.
What was inevitable was soon to arrive.
...
It was a quiet afternoon.
After feeding Xiaoxiao, Liang Anya played with her for a while.
Eventually, Xiaoxiao grew drowsy. She let out a small yawn, lazily nestled against her mommy’s chest, and drifted off to sleep.
"Little sleepyhead," Liang Anya chuckled as she handed her daughter to the nurse, who carried her back to the nursery downstairs.
The nanny, seeing she’d finished feeding, presented her with a steaming bowl of chicken soup. "Miss Liang, please have some more soup."
The enticing aroma of the soup filled the room. Spoonful by spoonful, Liang Anya sipped it slowly.
No matter how deserving Si Yuheng was of a thousand cuts, the nanny, at least, wasn’t a bad choice.
She was an excellent cook. The postpartum soups she had prepared were nothing short of perfect in taste, aroma, and presentation.
In just a few short days, though she had yet to step on a scale, she could tell she had likely gained quite a bit of weight.
"Miss Liang, have some more. If it’s not enough, there’s more at the villa, and I can fetch it for you. Perhaps tomorrow I’ll make some pork bone and goji berry soup for you?" the nanny offered cheerfully.
Before she could respond, the partially closed door burst open with a bang.
Kasey walked in, holding a document in her hand, her face darker than the stormiest night.
