Chapter 705: Chapter 705: The Trial (Part 6)

Anti-Magic doesn’t work on the Angels, so I have no reason to keep it in reserve!
Jaden’s eyes widened in alarm as I shot towards him and got him within the range of my Anti-Magic field, extending out my claws and swinging them at him as I closed in.
He sprang back and crossed his arms in front of himself, grimacing as I inflicted a couple of shallow scratches across his right forearm, drawing out a few trickles of blood.
Anti-Magic won’t deactivate Spirit Fusion, but he can’t use his Spirit Arts or Telekinesis right now, not to mention the Sound Magic he acquired when we were summoned to the other world.
But he’s still got the physical power boost from Spirit Fusion, not to mention his Personalis Arma is still in play too.
Right on cue, he extended his whips out towards me with immense speed. I ducked down as one of them swung across at my head, severing a few strands of my hair, before I flew up and swooped down towards him, weaving through the air to evade his whips before driving my claws towards him as I closed in.
As I sliced through the top of his right shoulder, my eyes widened in alarm as he swung his tail at me, striking the side of my face and slapping me away. As I hit the ground and skidded across, I quickly scrambled back onto my feet and flew up as his whips came extending towards me, chasing after me as I shot through the air.
I need to stay within twenty-five meters of him, otherwise he’ll be out of the range of my Anti-Magic Field.
I veered through the air as his whips continued to chase after me, before I suddenly zipped straight down towards him. He quickly retracted his whips and raised them in front of himself defensively, before one of them suddenly shot out towards me as I closed in on him.
He inflicted a deep gash across the right side of my head as I quickly tilted my head across, before I drove my fist towards his face. He swung his own fist up simultaneously, our knuckles colliding against each other, before my eyes widened in alarm as he grabbed my ankle with one of his whips and snapped it across powerfully, hurling me away.
I gritted my teeth and spreading out my wings sharply to bring myself to a halt, right as he came charging towards me. He leapt forward as he closed in, his whips zipping in towards me from either side as he drew back his right fist.
"Damn, you’re a slippery one, aren’t you?" He uttered, as I weaved back through the space to evade his whips, before he sprang back as I shot towards him, rushing past his whips and drawing back my right fist.
He crossed his arms defensively as I closed in, his whips converging in on me from behind, before I suddenly shifted my center of gravity, using my wings to leverage my position and move my lower body in front while arching my upper body back.
His eyes widened in alarm as I swung both my feet out, slamming them against his stomach and knocking the wind out of him, eliciting a sharp wheeze from him and I sent him flying back through the air.
His whips shot out and grabbed a pair of nearby lampposts, bringing himself to a halt as he clutched his stomach with a grimace. Damn it, this is taking too long, I need to knock him out quickly and go help Ciel.
Based on the loud explosions ringing out not too far away, she’s still holding her own, but she won’t last forever. Alright, then...I was really hoping to save this, but I don’t have much of a choice.
I took a deep breath and let out a slow exhale to compose myself, focusing and easing my nerves before I rapidly shot towards Jaden, who assumed a defensive stance. Suddenly, as I deactivated my Spirit Fusion, his eyes widened in surprised, a perplexed look on his face.
"<Spirit Fusion, Atomiguana: Nuke>!"
I put on a sharp burst of speed as my power surged again, black scales with glowing blue cracks forming across my entire body, along with a pair of wings and a tail, nuclear energy radiating around me.
"What are you-...?" He began, the air around him shimmering as he put up his telekinetic defense again.
"<Spirit Art: Atomic Surge>!" I roared, the atomic glow surrounding me intensifying sharply as I doubled the boost from my Spirit Fusion.
I triggered a pressurized burst of atomic energy to launch myself straight towards Jaden while drawing back my fist, propelling my arm forward with another atomic burst from behind my elbow, blasting my fist straight towards him.
I broke straight through his defenses, my fist colliding against his chin and launching him back through the air with immense force, the back of his head slamming against the golden barrier. His Spirit Fusion faded as he got knocked out instantly upon impact, his eyes fluttering shut as he slumped against the barrier.
Atomic Surge, a power boost Spirit Art that Atomiguana Spirits use, it doubles their power for two minutes. It takes a while before it can be used with Spirit Fusion, so this is my first time using it in battle.
Alright, focus, I’ve got more important things to worry about. I’m hearing a lot of explosions, so Ciel’s still going strong...but there’s no telling how much longer she can hold on, and I don’t want to waste Atomic Surge.
I glanced at Jaden one more time, to make sure he was unconscious, before I turned in the direction the explosions were ringing out from and sprinted that way as fast as I could. I rushed past several piles of rubble and craters, before coming into sight of-...huh?
I stared in bemusement as I got to the edge of a large crater, to see Ciel at the bottom of it, the Angel pinned down below her as she repeatedly struck him with her Explosion Blade, a wide grin on her face as the crater deepened with every strike, clouds of dust rising up around her.
I, uh...huh. Maybe she doesn’t need my help, after all...
