Chapter 700: Chapter 700: The Trial (Part 1)

This Angel, Matriel, has an insane amount of power, she’s twice as powerful as Baraqiel was. And her appearance, it’s a lot less human than Baraqiel’s appearance.
Her hair was a floating mass of water, her eyes light blue and her complexion pale. She had a slender figure, her body draped in a flowing, shimmering cloak of water.
Ai, don’t suppose there’s any chance that you’ll be able to undo Aria’s brainwashing and return her to her senses?

"Well, this sucks. <Enrage>, <Spirit Fusion, Apostle of Greed: Avaritia>."
"My, what impressive power. I can see how Baraqiel was defeated, considering how limited the power granted to him was," Remarked Matriel, before firing out a piercing beam of water at me.
It wasn’t just that, it was also his lack of skill and experience. A trait I’m really hoping this Angel shares too.
I then swiftly manifested the jaws of Drain and expanded them in front of myself, swallowing up her attack before it could hit me.
"This isn’t going to be easy. <Descent>, <Blaze Ignition: Supernova>!" Exclaimed Aria, flames erupting around her body as her wings, tail and horns manifested, her power surging immensely.
Matriel shot towards me as Aria flew up and swooped down with immense speed, flames swirling around her right fist. I raced across as Matriel unleashed a devastating blast of water at me, narrowly evading it before lifting my gaze as Aria closed in on me.
She drove her fist down with a roar of exertion, grimacing as I snapped the jaws of Drain around her arm, consuming the flames before firing out a rapid, pressurized blast of Negative Energy at her, hitting her stomach and sending her hurtling away with a sharp gasp of pain.
My gaze shifted across as I spotted Matriel rushing in from my right peripheral. I quickly shut my eyes and sprang back as she unleashed a blinding flash of light, swiftly opening my eyes again and swinging Desecrator towards the top of her head as she closed in.
Her left hand shot up and grabbed my forearm, bringing the swing of my blade to an abrupt halt, before she met my gaze with a smirk and fired out a crushing water blast from her right hand.
A sharp crunch rang out as her blast collided against my chest, crushing my ribs and launching me back through the air. As my back slammed onto the side of a nearby building with a jarring impact, I coughed out blood as my chest throbbed with pain, which quickly faded as I healed.
I pulled myself off the side of the building and flew up as a swirling blast of Negative Energy and crimson flames came shooting towards me, crashing onto the building with a devastating impact, the windows shattering as deep cracks spread out across the wall.
I then expanded the jaws of Drain in front of myself as a roaring wave of black flames came shooting towards me, swallowing them up before stiffening as Matriel zipped up and above me, a concentrated, swirling mass of water charged up between her hands.
I quickly unleashed a burst of Negative Energy above my head as she fired the attack, overwhelming my Negative Energy before colliding against the top of my skull, splitting my head open as I got blasted straight back down.
I braced myself as I plummeted at an alarming speed, my legs breaking as I crashed onto the ground with immense force, right as a shredding blast of Negative Energy came shooting towards me.
I triggered a pressurized burst of Negative Energy from my left to launch myself across to the right as a barrage of powerful water blasts came raining down towards me, deafening crashes ringing out as the attacks peppered the ground with crushing force, bits of rubble flying out around the point of impact.
I scrambled back onto my feet as my legs healed, before snapping open my jaws and unleashing a deafening howl as Aria shot towards me. She swiftly flew up and above the attack, avoiding it as a slashing wave of water came shooting towards me.
I sprang back as fast as I could, grimacing as the attack inflicted a deep gash across the front of my body, blood streaming out before the wound closed up. I then crossed my arms in front of myself as Aria launched herself towards me with a burst of Negative Energy, driving her right fist towards me as she chanted...
"<Super Accel Flame Lance>!"
Negative Energy and crimson flames swirled around her flame lance as she drove it towards me, slamming it against my forearms. A sharp sizzle rang out as her lance scorched through my skin and flesh, before a devastating fiery burst exploded and launched me back through the air.
I crashed onto a nearby car with immense force, the windows shattering as the side of the vehicle got deeply dented upon impact, the metal digging into my back, right as a fierce blast of water came shooting down towards me.
"<Obliterate>!" I chanted as I took aim at the Angel, wiping out her incoming attack and erasing the right side of her body before she could react, right as Aria sprang up to my left and swung her foot across.
She slammed her shin against the side of my face, blasting me across to my right as a fiery burst erupted upon impact, my head jerking across painfully as I flew through the air, my head thudding against the ground as I hit the dirt and skidded across.
"Now, kill him!" Exclaimed Matriel as my Spirit Fusion deactivated, Aria rushing in towards me as she charged up another flame lance around her right fist, closing in on me rapidly...
