Chapter 210: The legacy of Fools I
On the way, Aramith and Mozrael saw a lot of students, but the farther they went, the fewer the number of students.
Some glanced at them, but didn’t ask anything.
It wasn’t until they were getting closer that they saw a familiar figure in a group.
Lydan had his head bowed slightly as he stood in front of three other students.
"You’re so useless, yet you have the guts to come in here to cultivate? Such opportunities are wasted on you."
Lydan clenched his fists, not saying anything, but his mind was running wild.
Useless? I wonder if you’ll have the same reaction if you were in my place.
"Quiet, huh? I heard you were a tough guy. Guess it’s just rumors," Another scoffed.
"Tough? He got beaten up by a new student, and made that mad woman injure others."
Lydan didn’t react yet. It wasn’t that he was afraid or incompetent.
On a normal day, dealing with these students would be an easy thing for him, but ever since that encounter with Aramith, he’d lost his confidence.
To be defeated by the weakling you looked down on was a difficult thing to accept. His ego wouldn’t accept it, but the facts spoke for themselves.
The only thing that eased his mind was the fact that Jade wasn’t seriously injured.
Ever since that day, he’d been cultivating with every chance he got, but that wasn’t enough to renew his confidence; these students had been pestering him when they found him.
Time was not going to wait for him, and he needed to cultivate.
He raised his head, letting out a breath.
One student, with his arms crossed over his chest, sneered. "So the dog dares to raise its head?"
Lydan frowned, about to speak, when he noticed two figures walking away. His eyes widened, and his heart dropped slightly.
Why’s he here?
The student smirked, noticing Lydan didn’t dare to look at them.
"He still hasn’t got enough confidence to face us. Good for you to look away. Dogs like you don’t have the right to look us in the eyes."
But Lydan was still in a daze.
The fear from back then flowed into his veins, freezing him.
They continued to mock him, and that was when they noticed his expression wasn’t right.
"What are you looking at? Found a bone?" One of them turned around to find what interesting thing this ’dog’ was so focused on.
He squinted as he looked around, seeing a few students who were either going into the cultivation grounds or leaving.
It took him a few seconds before he noticed two distinct figures.
"Wait, isn’t that..."
His friends turned around as well.
"What’s wrong with you?" One asked.
He pointed. "Am I seeing things? Isn’t that the new student? I’ve seen him before. How is he here?"
Another frowned. "You mean the one who beat Lydan? How does he have permission to come here?" He glanced at Lydan, now understanding the expression that appeared on his face. His expression changed to one of disgust.
"You’re afraid of that kid?"
Lydan didn’t say anything, choosing to ignore them, but his clenched fists didn’t escape their notice.
"Come on, he probably stole someone’s ring."
They turned and headed in Aramith’s direction.
"Hey! Stop moving!"
They rushed towards Aramith and Mozrael, shouting at them.
Their shouts drew the attention of a few students who were passing.
Some recognized the students who were shouting and looked at the targets, not recognizing them.
"Are you deaf or stupid? I said, " Stop!" They moved faster, noticing that Aramith wasn’t stopping.
Frowning, they quickly dashed forward, crossing Aramith and Mozrael’s path.
They stopped and looked at the intruders indifferently, but the students froze.
When they saw Mozrael, they couldn’t help but stare.
There were many beautiful girls in the school, but only a few could move these youngsters’ hearts at a glance.
From that first look, Mozrael had already jumped to the top beauties in their heart.
The one in the lead suddenly forgot about Aramnith and took a step forward, putting on his most flirtatious smile.
"Hey, are you new here? What’s your name?" He asked smilingly.
Mozrael looked at him coldly, refusing to respond, but he was undeterred.
Beautiful flowers love to be worshipped. She won’t give in so easily until I prove myself.
That was when he noticed Aramith as a sinister idea birthed itself in his mind.
"You, aren’t you a new student? What are you doing here?" He frowned at Aramith with a look of justice.
He ignored the fact that Mozrael was also new.
"New students shouldn’t have points to enter this place. Who allowed you in here?"
Aramith didn’t respond, looking at them calmly as he studied them.
The student turned to Mozrael. "Miss, don’t stand with this idiot. Even flowers get tainted if they’re among weeds. He’s just a troublemaker who only knows how to abuse the power of his teacher. Look at his skinny arms. He can’t even fight anyone, but he’s walking into these sacred grounds, which are only reserved for the strong and deserving."
He glanced at Aramith, noticing how quiet he was.
Aramith’s calm nature misdirected him, making him believe the poor boy was just scared.
Hmpf, want to trick this beauty into being with you? Don’t joke!
His ego became inflated, and he continued to put on airs, not seeing the dark expression on Mozrael’s face.
Aramith noticed Mozrael’s displeasure and grabbed her hand.
"Let’s go. Forget what these fools said."
He pulled her gently as they left under shocked eyes.
"Who told you you can leave?" The leader stepped forward.
[History had a habit of repeating itself. Especially when fools insisted on learning lessons already written by other fools.]
Aramith turned "Don’t make a mistake," he warned.
He glared at Aramith, but didn’t focus on his words. Aramith continued, but this guy wasn’t done.
He quickly rushed toward Mozrael, reaching out to grab her hand.
Mozrael noticed the movement and was about to strike, but she was a second too slow.
Aramith flashed like lightning, his leg moving like a whip as it was instantly buried in the student’s abdomen.
