Chapter 209: Not worth being my enemy.

Liora opened her mouth to speak, but couldn’t say anything.

How can he have so many points? He hasn’t done anything to earn points since he arrived. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

Ilthane turned to Aramith. "Go on."

Aramith nodded and left, and as they all watched in disbelief, the student they all despised was heading off to the most sacred part of the cultivation grounds.

"I personally handed that ring to Lynnor. Does that answer any doubts?" Ilthane asked calmly.

The warden, who was still staring incredulously at Aramith and Mozrael’s disappearing backs, quickly turned to Ilthane.

"I would never question your actions, Rector!"

But even with Ilthane stating this, Liora couldn’t believe any of it. He doesn’t deserve it. Even if his ability is impressive, it’s just borrowed power.

"Is this a new form of studying or training I have no knowledge of?" Ilthane asked, turning to the many students who’d suddenly become spectators.

With his reminder, they all left as quickly as they could.

Walking towards the gates, Serin was confused when she saw so many students rushing to leave.

Liora told her she was going off to ’recruit’ Aramith as her new toy to play with.

She didn’t want to follow and stayed behind, knowing what Liora was planning on doing, but after waiting for a long time and not seeing any trace of Liora returning, she got a bad feeling and rushed over.

Her previous encounter with Aramith made her want to steer away from him, which was why she didn’t follow Liora.

And knowing the kind of person Liora was, she didn’t have any worry that something bad could happen to her.

But...

When she approached, she saw the warden of the cultivation grounds speaking with—

"The Rector?" She felt a burn in her chest.

to the side, she saw the familiar figure of Liora, but her usual smile or calm look was gone.

Liora’s brows were creased up slightly, but Serin knew that, though it was a small crease that would mean slight displeasure to others, Liora having such an expression only meant one thing.

She was furious, and only Serin was the most certain of the terrible things she could do when she was in such a state.

Liora’s gaze fell on Serin suddenly, causing Serin’s heart to drop.

Liora then turned to the Rector and said something. Ilthane nodded and she left.

"Let’s go," Liora said coldly as she reached Serin’s side. She stormed past her without even pausing.

Serin looked around, searching for any trace of Aramith, but he wasn’t there. Did they trick her? Aramith wasn’t here?

She quickly left, catching up to Liora.

"Do you know that girl who was with Aramith?" Liora asked.

Girl? "Wait, you met him?"

"He was with a blue-eyed girl I’ve never seen before. Who is she?"

SErin suddenly remembered the nightmare of a few days ago, recalling the two girls who were with Aramith. She never paid much attention to them, even forgetting about their existence, yet with Liora’s reminder, their faces came to mind.

"I...I saw them that day..." she chose her words carefully.

Back at the gates, Ilthane shifted his gaze to a corner. "Do you enjoy stalking that much? Or there’s a better reason for you hiding there?"

The warden followed Ilthane’s gaze, but couldn’t see anything out of the ordinary. He was about to ask when two figures walked out.

His eyes widened as he saw the notorious Lynnor step out, grinning sheepishly. Beside her, a student he’d never seen before stepped out.

Ikthane glanced at Lynnor, then his gaze fell on Sylvia. "She may be a great teacher if she decides to, but as a role model, she’s one of the worst I know." His gaze briefly fell on Lynnor, "And I only have one name on my list of worst role models."

Sylvia nodded. "I came to the same conclusion after observing her for these few days."

"Good for you," Ilthane acknowledged.

Lynnor gaped at Sylvia, feeling betrayed.

"Improvement?" Ilthane asked.

Sylvia nodded. "Yes, she’s helping me improve."

"How long were you in hiding?" He asked. He didn’t pay attention and only noticed them when everyone started to disperse.

"We saw everything before you made an appearance," Lynnor chuckled. "Didn’t think things would get as entertaining as they turned out to be. Haa....was worth every second." She nudged Sylvia.

"How do you think Aramith will react if I tell him that the girl likes him? Think Mozrael will get jealous too?" She rubbed her chin, a thought popping up in her mind.

"Wait..." She narrowed her eyes, scrutinizing Sylvia’s expression as she grinned. "You’re not jealous, too, are you? You like the boy, eh?"

Sylvia’s expression didn’t change as she turned to Lynnor.

"I admire Aramith and wish to get stronger as I learn things by his side. It’s not a romantic infatuation as you are imagining. And Mozrael doesn’t seem to—"

"Meh," Lynnor pushed her lightly, her eyes drooping slightly. "You’re too boring. Is your Kingdom just filled with a bunch of power-hungry freaks like you?" Her eyes lit up slightly. "Oh, you mentioned Mozrael, but I doubt you know her that much. Even she is not too certain of the emotions she’s growing in her heart."

Ilthane cleared his throat a little, and they both turned to him.

"Need something?" Lynnor asked.

"Did you only come here to watch the interaction between them?" he asked, directing the question to Sylvia.

As the Rector, he never joked with students when it came to studies and their preparation for the future. The shortest time they had, it was best they made use of it to be better.

Sylvia didn’t know this, but Lynnor immediately picked on.

"Ah, don’t worry. I brought her here to also cultivate." She glanced at the warden, then at Sylvia. "You should go to the inner grounds. That’s more suitable for you." Sylvia nodded

From the earlier scene, she’d come to understand that she needed a ring to enter, but the warden stepped forward before she could request the ring from Lynnor.

"Please, follow me," he smiled at Sylvia.

Lynnor chuckled and nodded for her to follow.

The warden was very polite to Sylvia. Very few students gained the acknowledgement of the Rector, and from their interaction, she was just as favored as Aramith and Mozrael.

When they were finally out of sight, Ilthane spoke without turning to Lynnor.

"What is your goal in all this?"

Lynnor grinned, but didn’t answer.
