Chapter 769: Chapter 754: Ready to Make a Move (Part 3)

Just as He Lei was about to press the talk button, Qiao Shan suddenly reached out to stop him: "Wait, Lei Ge!"

"Huh?" He Lei raised his left eyebrow slightly. Every minute now was precious; he had to deceive Spring Xiu into the factory before he sensed anything was amiss. Only then could his subordinates, responsible for surveillance, possibly hold the other party back. So, Qiao Shan’s action, wasting his time, made him very impatient: "What the hell is it? Spit it out quickly?"

"Oh, it’s like this!" Qiao Shan leaned over and whispered a few words in He Lei’s ear. After listening, He Lei nodded silently: "Let’s do it as you said, but make it quick. Go!"

Qiao Shan handled things fairly quickly. When he reappeared in front of He Lei, there was already a young man beside him, who was a subordinate of Spring Xiu that had been captured earlier.

"Kid, do you understand what to do?" He Lei’s question seemed casual, but his hand movements were quite clear—he was casually fiddling with the gun in his hand.

He pulled back the bolt and removed the magazine. After completing this series of actions to check the ammo, the captured young man opened his mouth and replied, "Yes... I understand."

"Good! I hope you’re a smart guy. You better not play games with me, or I’ll make you wish you were dead!"

"Bang!" The black Type 54 pistol was slammed onto the table by He Lei with such force that the captured subordinate almost collapsed in terror.

"Damn useless thing!" He Lei glanced at the captured subordinate with disdain. However, the subordinate’s terrified appearance fit his intentions just fine. At least he believed that even if given the courage, this guy wouldn’t dare defy him.

Qiao Shan timely signaled to He Lei, inquiring whether he could start the communication. He Lei placed the hand-held radio on the table, which counted as a response.

"Be sharp! I don’t want to go out on the streets tonight to hunt Zombies with you!" Before pressing the talk button, Qiao Shan did not forget to threaten the captured subordinate again, as a precaution. If this kid acted up midway, it won’t just be his own misfortune; even the one who came up with the idea would be in big trouble.

The captured subordinate had already been beaten into submission long ago. From his red and swollen, scarred face, it wasn’t hard to see how inhumane treatment they suffered within a few hours.

He now didn’t dare hope to survive here; he would rather die than live in endless fear.

But his captors obviously didn’t intend to let them off so easily. So when Qiao Shan proposed that following his instructions would spare him from beatings, he agreed without hesitation.

He didn’t consider betraying Spring Xiu as a major wrongdoing. Besides, they, the brothers, had done many hard and sacrificing jobs for Spring Xiu until now; in the end, they lived like dogs with all the benefits taken by those at the top.

All the subordinates could do was just get by day by day. With a boss like that, what was worth risking one’s life to defend?

Moreover, in such a world, how much was morality worth? Not as much as a damn white bun!

The subordinates didn’t even expect Spring Xiu to send someone to rescue them, so they had to rely on themselves rather than others. Escape wasn’t an option they hoped for, as long as they didn’t have to suffer anymore; selling out Spring Xiu was as easy as a blink without hesitation, even if it meant selling out their parents.

The captured subordinate reached out his shaking right hand, which had been beaten, to pick up the hand-held radio, whispering, "Brother Chun, anything up? Over!"

"Damn it, He Lei, you’re still alive, huh? Why don’t you just die! You really think you can... don’t tell me you didn’t hear me calling you. You..."

As soon as Spring Xiu started speaking, he was cussing like a firecracker. He Lei impatiently fiddled with the gun on the table. This unconscious gesture startled the captured subordinate into interrupting Spring Xiu’s tirade: "Brother Chun... I’m not Lei Ge, Lei... Lei Ge is sleeping! Over!"

Due to psychological fear and his already battered body, the captured subordinate’s voice was weak and unclear. Spring Xiu only got the gist, but the word "sleeping" he heard crystal clear, which further fueled his anger: "What? You dare tell me you’re sleeping?" Spring Xiu now really wanted to crack open He Lei’s head to see what kind of crap was inside to say such stupid things.

A wild gust of cold wind howled by, hitting the car window and making a terrifying wailing sound.

Spring Xiu shook his head, suddenly realizing that tangling with that fool He Lei in the freezing snow was just a waste of time. He immediately stopped this stupid behavior of his, ordering: "Damn it, I’m not gonna waste more crap on you, get your ass down here and open the door for me, we’ll settle everything else inside! Over!"

The captured subordinate looked helplessly at He Lei and Qiao Shan. Spring Xiu’s cluelessness made him feel helpless, and Qiao Shan, to make the former think straighter, simply stomped on him and threatened, "Can’t you use some force, damn it, do you really want to die? Speak up!"

"Brother Chun, I’m not Lei Ge, Lei Ge... he’s resting, we didn’t dare to wake him up out of fear of bothering him. Over!"

After Qiao Shan’s intervention, the captured subordinate’s breath was indeed louder than before, but due to excessive fright, his words were filled with trembling tones.

Yet it was precisely this fear-laden tone that made it sound particularly real. At least he successfully made Spring Xiu believe that He Lei was sleeping, and the subordinates didn’t wake him up to avoid bothering him!

"Damn it, who the hell are you following? Who’s calling the shots? He dares not answer my call? Seems you guys are tired of living, right? Damn it, hurry up and wake that pig He Lei, and make him come downstairs to see me! Over!"

He Lei leaned back, signaling Qiao Shan to hand him the hand-held radio. The task of the captured subordinate was basically completed, and it was his turn to take the stage.

"Ah, Brother Chun, I’m really sorry, I accidentally fell asleep just now. None of these useless guys called me, and I missed your call. I’ve already taught these trash a lesson! Over!"

"Screw you, don’t play dumb with me, I have no patience for your crap, come to the main gate immediately! Over!"

"Ah! Brother Chun, why have you returned to the factory?" He Lei feigned surprise, to which the latter responded irritably: "Did you expect me to sleep outside all night? Damn it, if I don’t return to the factory, you just go wild there!"

"Brother Chun, that’s not what I meant. Earlier while talking to you, the brothers’ car broke down on the road, I worried it might delay things, so I took the remaining people and went to the villa to join you. We’re on the way now! Over!"

Having seen foolish people but never this foolish, Spring Xiu nearly spat blood on the ground: "He Lei, did you grow up eating shit? Don’t tell me you’ve taken all the people from the factory? Over!"

He Lei earnestly and confidently replied: "Yes, Brother Chun, I arranged for everyone to set out. With so many of us, this time, humph humph, there’s no way Liu Fugui will escape without harm! Over!"

He Lei’s smugness was so jarring to Spring Xiu’s ears that he was almost exhausted with anger: "Yeah, that’s great, took them all, damn it, I told you I was heading back to the factory, why’d you take everyone out? Don’t tell me the factory is unguarded now?"

"Ah! Brother Chun, did you mention that?" He Lei acted surprised but quickly changed his tone with a laugh: "Haha, but it’s okay, Brother Chun, no worries. I just feared something might happen at the factory; I instructed everyone to lock all doors and windows. The remnants of Liu Fugui’s gang we captured are also wiped out. So, just relax; nothing can go wrong. I’ve got it all covered!"

"You’ve got it all covered? You’ve got it all covered?"

"Smack smack smack!" With nowhere to vent, Spring Xiu furiously kicked the front seat, making the hearts of the driver and co-driver almost explode.

"Come back, come back right the hell now! Over!"

"Come back? Just leave Liu Fugui alone? Over!"

"Don’t waste more damn words with me, turn back now, everyone heading to the villa, listen up, return immediately! Over!"

Spring Xiu abruptly ended the communication, hurling the hand-held radio forcefully, causing it to break apart with a loud crash! (To be continued.
