Chapter 607: The Target of Envy
Third Person’s POV
They simply couldn’t tolerate watching someone they regarded as an insignificant commoner stand above them while refusing to acknowledge their superiority.
Now that they had finally discovered what appeared to be a weakness in Aurelia’s spotless demeanour, they eagerly seized the opportunity to ridicule and humiliate her without holding anything back.
"Look at her mouth."
One of the boys sneered loudly.
"She is standing there with it half open as though she is waiting for that senior to shove his dick into it."
Another noble girl laughed mockingly.
"What a shameless slut.
She rejected my elder brother so arrogantly, even though he treated this commoner bitch like a princess, yet the moment someone more talented appears, she immediately starts acting like this."
"Looks like her pure and innocent image wasn’t so pure after all."
"I always knew she was pretending."
"Women like her simply hide it better."

One disgusting remark followed another as students who had secretly disliked Aurelia for years no longer bothered restraining themselves.
Every bit of jealousy, frustration, and resentment they had accumulated over the years now poured out through their mouths as filthy insults and malicious laughter.
Some mocked her appearance, others questioned her character, while a few even fabricated shameless stories on the spot simply to make the surrounding students laugh louder.
Yet despite the increasingly ugly atmosphere filling the classroom, not everyone joined in.
Quite a few students merely watched everything unfold with complicated expressions while remaining completely silent.
Most of these silent observers came from middle-ranked cities scattered throughout the Northern Glacial Region or from ordinary families residing within Ice Emperor City itself.
Unlike the pampered noble children surrounding them, they understood far better than anyone else how difficult Aurelia’s achievements truly were.
A young woman with extraordinary talent, unwavering determination, and a character that remained unbent despite countless temptations was something exceedingly rare.
Many of them genuinely respected her, not because of her beauty, but because she had climbed to her current position through nothing except her own relentless effort and perseverance.
Unfortunately, respect alone wasn’t enough to make them step forward, as very few people were willing to provoke Sharon Lucerra.
Her family was a family of marquis and possessed considerable influence throughout Ice Emperor City, while Sharon herself was infamous for her vindictive personality.
Anyone who offended her, especially those lacking an equally powerful background, would inevitably find themselves becoming the target of endless retaliation.
Most of the silent students understood this perfectly.
They had no personal relationship with Aurelia, nor did they possess the courage or influence necessary to oppose Sharon publicly.
If they interfered now, they would merely end up making a dangerous enemy while gaining nothing in return.
Therefore, they remained silent, even though many of them secretly frowned in disgust at the increasingly vicious remarks being hurled towards Aurelia.
It was at that moment that the lazy black-haired girl who had been sitting beside Aurelia finally reached the limit of her patience.
She had tolerated the endless insults for several minutes, but the increasingly filthy comments coming from Sharon’s group finally made even someone as indifferent as her frown slightly.
Stretching lazily in her chair as though she had just been disturbed from a pleasant nap, she spoke in an unhurried voice that nevertheless travelled across the classroom with perfect clarity.
"You should stop your bullshit, Sharon. My ears are going to start bleeding if I keep listening to the disgusting vomit coming out of your mouth."

Her words fell into the classroom like a stone thrown into a calm lake, and the noisy chatter instantly disappeared.
The laughter stopped, and even the students who had been whispering among themselves unconsciously turned their heads towards the black-haired girl.
Beside her, the timid-looking girl almost jumped out of her seat in horror.
She stared at her friend with widened eyes, her face turning pale as countless thoughts raced through her mind.
’Has she gone crazy?
Does she even know who she just offended? This Aurelia is not even our friend!!’
In her mind, she almost wanted to scream.
’That’s Sharon Lucerra! The Fearsome Shrew!’
Everyone within the academy knew Sharon’s temperament.
She was notoriously narrow-minded, vindictive, and cruel, especially towards students who lacked powerful backgrounds.
Countless common-born students had suffered because of offending her over the years, and some had even transferred classes simply to avoid becoming her target.
The Lucerra Family was one of the most influential Marquis families within Ice Emperor City.
They possessed immense wealth, powerful experts, and close connections with many noble households.
Very few students dared to confront Sharon openly, not because they feared her personal strength alone, but because offending her meant offending the entire Lucerra Family behind her.
The moment those words reached Sharon’s ears, the laughter froze on her face.
The mocking smile gradually disappeared before being replaced by a dark and ugly expression.
Her blue eyes slowly shifted towards the black-haired girl.
Without saying anything immediately, she stood up from her seat.
Silence followed every one of her footsteps as she slowly walked across the classroom.
The surrounding students instinctively stepped aside, creating a path for her.
Even those who had been laughing moments ago no longer dared utter another word.

Everyone understood that Sharon’s temper had completely exploded.
Only the lazy black-haired girl remained exactly where she was, leaning comfortably against her chair as though she were waiting for someone to serve her afternoon tea instead of confronting an enraged noble lady.
Finally, Sharon stopped directly before her.
Her beautiful face had become slightly distorted by rage.
"What did you just say, bitch?"
Her voice was frighteningly cold as she said shrilly,
"I will give you one chance."
She leaned forward slightly and glared directly into the girl’s eyes.
"Repeat those words before this lady one more time."
A cruel smile slowly spread across her lips.
"Otherwise... I promise you will experience consequences that will make you regret opening your mouth for the rest of your life."
Her words were almost a growl, and the elegant image expected of a refined, noble young lady had completely vanished.
