Chapter 606: A Heart That Couldn’t Stay Calm
Third Person’s POV
One of them hurriedly replied.
"A new member of the Crystal Formation Batch appeared in the academy."
Aurelia immediately shook her head as she said with an unusual, strained voice,
"N-No. What did you say after that?"
The girls became even more confused.
After thinking briefly, the second girl answered while shrugging,
"The young man has long violet hair, kind of like Teacher Eleanor’s."
Then she added casually,
"And he also has crimson eyes."
The moment those words were spoken, Aurelia’s entire body went stiff, and the parchment slipped slightly from her grasp.
Her lips trembled, and her breathing became uneven.

The classroom around her seemed to disappear, and only those words remained in her mind.
Violet hair that was like teacher Eleanor’s and crimson eyes.
Aurelia’s mind instantly recalled countless old conversations and memories she had long forgotten.
Things Teacher Eleanor or her aunt Eleanor had once said, stories she had told, and the promises they had made to each other to always keep looking for ’someone’ without ever giving up.
The more Aurelia thought about it, the more her heart began pounding violently inside her chest.
Meanwhile, the two girls stared at her in complete shock as the Aurelia they knew was calm, focused, and rational.
A girl who cared only about magic, potions, and her studies, and never gave a damn about boys and romantic relationships.
Yet the young woman standing before them now looked completely different.
For the first time since they had known her, Aurelia looked genuinely shaken.
They looked at each other before silently exchanging confused glances, and almost simultaneously, the same thought surfaced in both of their minds.
’What’s wrong with her? Why is she reacting like this?’
Their confusion only deepened when they noticed Aurelia’s breathing gradually becoming heavier.
Her chest rose and fell unevenly while her usually calm green eyes trembled continuously as though they had been struck by some unbelievable revelation.
The parchment in her hands detailing the formula of a rare high-grade potion had unknowingly crumpled under the increasing pressure of her fingers, yet she seemed completely unaware of it.
They had known Aurelia for quite some time now.
She was always calm, composed, and almost frighteningly focused whenever she entered the classroom.
No matter what kind of commotion erupted around her, she rarely allowed anything unrelated to magic or potion making to distract her.
Yet the Aurelia standing before them now looked like an entirely different person.
The two girls were just about to ask whether she was feeling alright when a sardonic and mocking voice of a girl suddenly echoed across the classroom from the opposite side.
"Ohh? What happened to our hardworking, budding potion master? It looks like she has gone into shock."

A burst of mocking laughter and jeers immediately followed that.
"Hehe... looks like that mysterious new senior has finally managed to make our unreachable little goddess turn her attention towards boys."
The girl’s lips curled into a smile full of ridicule before she continued in an exaggerated tone.
"But isn’t our budding potion master aiming a little too high for someone of her status and appearance?
Tell me, why would such a handsome and talented man, who is clearly acquainted with Princess Arlene herself, even bother sparing a glance at our boring little potion master?
Some people truly don’t know their own place."
The two girls instinctively turned towards the speaker.
Standing a short distance away was a young blonde-haired girl looking directly at Aurelia with unconcealed disdain in her blue eyes.
The blonde girl herself possessed fairly attractive features and came from an influential noble family within Ice Emperor City.
Under ordinary circumstances, she would easily have been considered beautiful.
Unfortunately for her, the person she constantly compared herself against was Aurelia.
Despite never bothering with makeup, expensive ornaments, or fashionable robes, Aurelia still naturally overshadowed her in appearance, talent, and reputation.
That fact had always been a thorn lodged deep within the blonde girl’s heart, and today it finally seemed to have found an opportunity to erupt.
The sarcastic smile on her face slowly transformed into naked malice as she laughed once again.
"Hehe... looks like this slut has finally decided to drop her saintly little act."
She deliberately raised her voice even louder so that everyone nearby could hear her.
"Hey, all of you, look carefully at her face."
She pointed directly towards Aurelia without the slightest restraint.
"See how she is standing there like some shocked bitch who has forgotten where she is?
And who has she set her sights on?

Why, it’s none other than that handsome young man we all saw entering the academy today beside the Ice Princess herself."
Her words immediately attracted the attention of nearly everyone seated nearby.
One after another, students turned around to observe the unfolding scene.
Many of them instinctively looked towards Aurelia’s unusually shaken expression before glancing at one another with amused smiles.
Soon, laughter began spreading throughout the classroom.
Of course, the loudest laughter came from the very people who had secretly envied Aurelia for years.
Ever since she had entered the academy, they had been unable to understand how a lowborn girl from some insignificant countryside village had repeatedly surpassed the sons and daughters of prestigious noble families like them through nothing but her own talent and relentless hard work.
To make matters even worse in their eyes, Aurelia had never shown the slightest intention of flattering them because of their status, as she neither sought their favor nor accepted their charity.
She treated noble heirs and ordinary commoners alike, as though their family backgrounds held no special meaning before her.
She rejected every young noble who attempted to pursue her while remaining completely devoted to her studies and cultivation, almost as though she believed none of them were worthy of her attention.
Naturally, none of them would ever admit that this was the true source of their resentment.
Even among their closest circle of friends, this remained the ugliest and most shameful thought buried deep within their hearts.
