Chapter 458: Chapter 458: Conflict Over Supplies

"It seems that there are zombies nearby." Leng Pan said, looking around and trying to extend her spiritual power outward.

She wanted to see if she could detect the zombies in the water without touching it.

Leng Pan had to strain and use quite a bit of spiritual energy before she was able to detect a slight disturbance in the water near the entrance of the broken wall.

"They should be something near the broken part of the building." She said out loud.

"Mmmm...sister-in-law is right. There is a cluster of zombies there. I don’t know why they are crowding the entrance." Lu Tao used his super vision and immediately knew that there were zombies and where they were.

"Maybe they are guarding the place. But why?" Leng Pan replied.

"The question is, what are they guarding in such a place?" Lu Zhen asked grimly.

"Look on the roof." Lu Hao suddenly said.

Everyone looked up and was surprised to see people on the rooftop.

The people were standing near the edge looking down on them as if observing their movements.

’So much for hiding their space power.’ Leng Pan thought to herself.

She had asked her teammates with space superpower to hide it and cover it up by placing some supplies on the boat. But if those people had been watching them all along, then what was there to hide?

"Those people seem to be armed." Lu Tao added while looking straight at the people who were watching them warily.

"Is it another team from another base?" Vanish asked while squinting his eyes.

"Maybe. Let’s wait and see." Ouyang Jin replied a little absent-mindedly.

As they discussed, the boats moved a bit closer to the building and now they could see the people on the building more clearly.

They already had their weapons raised and aimed at them. However, no one took the initiative to attack.

Everyone could already understand what was happening.

Apocalypse was about survival and supplies guaranteed survival. So, now that people of opposing teams had met, there would definitely be completion for the supplies in the building.

The two teams got into a deadlock and what was funny was that the zombies near the entrance of the building didn’t attack Leng Pan’s team.

It was surprising how it seemed as if they were remaining unconcerned and letting the humans settle their issues.

After a few minutes of standoff, a man who looked ragged and holding a gun stepped forward on the roof.

His gun was still aimed at Leng Pan’s team but he never took a shot.

"This area is ours." He said loudly so that those below could hear him.

"Oh! Straight to the point." Silk said from the second boat.

Blaze snorted.

"What great bravado. What does he mean the area is theirs? Do they own the building or the water around it?" He asked with contempt.

"Maybe it’s because they were here first?" A warrior from their team commented.

"Could they take everything? Besides, in the apocalypse, there is no such thing as first come first served. You take what you want according to your strength." Blaze replied.

Leng Pan and Lu Zhen remained calm alm this time. Just observing the people on the roof.

"Yours?" Lu Zhen suddenly asked in a deep voice.

"Yes," the man replied firmly.

"We found this place first."

"And that makes it yours?" Lu Zhen asked again.

"Of course. Since we got here first, we have the right to decide whether to give you some of the supplies." The man was quite confident when he said this.

It made Leng Pan wonder where he got his confidence from.

Just as they looked at each other with tension, behind the man, more people moved into view.

At least twenty of them.

Looking at them this way, it seemed that Leng Pan’s team was outnumbered. But was that what mattered in the apocalypse?

"We’re not here to fight," Leng Pan said calmly.

The man laughed.

"Everyone says that before they fight."

"We can just share the supplies peacefully." Leng Pan said in a negotiating tone.

The man must have thought that they were trying to compromise, so he didn’t hesitate to refuse.

"No." He said flatly.

"Everything inside this building belongs to us."

Ouyang Jin’s expression darkened.

"That’s a bit too greedy, don’t you think?"

"Greedy?" the man scoffed.

"We risked our lives to get to this place."

"Who didn’t risk their lives to get here?" Lu Tao asked a little angrily.

That made the other side hesitate for a moment. But pride and survival instincts won over.

"Doesn’t matter," the man said.

"You didn’t find it first."

This infuriated everyone in Leng Pan’s team.

Who did this guy think he was?

Leng Pan sighed softly.

"That’s unfortunate."

Her tone didn’t change.

But something in her presence did.

The people on the roof could feel it.

And the leader hesitates for a moment again.

He didn’t know whether clashing with this team was a wise choice.

But he just couldn’t bring himself to give up so many supplies.

"You have two choices now. Fight, or share. The choice is yours." Lu Zhen suddenly said.

He wasn’t in the mood to talk rubbish with people who were unreasonable.

The factory was big and he was sure that even the two teams probably wouldn’t be able to take everything inside. Unless they used Leng Pan’s space bangle.

So, why was that guy being so difficult?

Lu Hao suddenly started flickering with electricity around him.

Everyone else also took on a fighting stance.

Those on the roof also activated their abilities and held their weapons tighter.

The leader of the team on the roof suddenly smirked.

"You think we are afraid of you?" He asked with a scoff.

"I don’t know if you are afraid." Leng Pan said, looking proud.

"But you should be." She added.

Without another word, Leng Pan raised her hands and a staircase started to form from the boat towards the rooftop.

The staircase was made of ice and was wide enough for two people to walk side by side.

Seeing this, the man on the roof tensed a little.

He wasn’t a fool. He could tell that these people had the means to content with them.

Besides, he had seen what the flood water could hide and fighting in such an environment wasn’t exactly a wise choice.
