Chapter 457: Chapter 457: Floating Blessings
Assistant Yao turned to look at Leng Pan and only when she nodded her head did he move forward.
As they got closer, even those without super vision could see that the things floating on the water were packaged snacks.
This was the first time Leng Pan had seen so many things floating on water.
Before the apocalypse, oceans and seas were kept clean from litter.
So, seeing so many things floating ahead was both a shock and a blessing.
No matter how much supplies they had saved in the space bangle, Leng Pan knew that it was never enough.
That was because they didn’t know what they would face tomorrow.
Also, she knew that keeping the supplies in the space bangle was risky because you never know if it would malfunction.
So, whenever there was a chance to stock their store room in the apartment, she never missed such a chance.
Moreover, so many people had joined their base before the rains and needed supplies to survive.
Even though she wasn’t going to be giving supplies out for free, if she had them, then they could use other things for the survivors in the base to exchange with.
"Wow! So many snacks." Lu Tao marveled at the sight.
He knew that his sister-in-law had bought many snacks before the apocalypse, but he wasn’t allowed to eat them recklessly.
So, seeing so many here was like arriving in paradise.
"Alright, get your nets and start fishing." Leng Pan said and the people in both boats accelerated to the spot at the center of the entire bunch of floating snacks.
The fishing nets were thrown over in no time and packets upon packets of snacks were caught in the nets.
Once the nets were reeled in, they were emptied onto the boat then tossed over again.
The teammates took out bags, including garbage bags that Leng Pan had produced out of thin air, which was actually the space bangle and distributed to everyone.
Soon, several bags of garbage were full of snacks.
Leng Pan noticed that among the packets of snacks were crisps, nuts, chocolate bars, and other things kids would like.
After most of the snacks were collected, Leng Pan looked at the water surface that seemed to have a slow current and noticed that the packages of snacks were coming from the same direction.
"Let’s go against the current and see where these things came from." She instructed and the people at the helm started the boats’ engines again.
As the boats moved upstream, they collected more snacks along the way.
Apart from Leng Pan who had a space bangle, there were two more people in the boats who possessed space superpower.
Unfortunately, their space couldn’t compare to Leng Pan’s.
However, it was enough to make sure that they could collect a few dozen garbage bags filled with supplies.
As they moved forward, they noticed that the snacks weren’t the only thing floating in the water. It was just that the snacks were lighter and had floated further down.
However, as they got closer to the source, they saw boxes of other types of processed goods including packages of instant noodles.
There were also packages of packed beef jerky, which surprised Leng Pan.
She had no idea that in their city, there was a food processing factory that made beef jerky.
However, she wasn’t about to complain for having more options when it came to food or snacks in the apocalypse.
So, as they went forward and came across more varieties of foods, they collected as much as they found.
"Wow! We are quite lucky to have found this windfall." Someone from the second boat said happily.
"Keep some in the boats and the rest in the space. Remember not to expose that you are space ability users easily. It could bring trouble." Leng Pan warned when she realized that almost all the food collected had been put away in the space by her teammates.
Hearing this, the two space superpower users nodded their heads and had the others help them fill a few garbage bags with snacks then placed them on the boat in plain view of everyone.
In this way, anyone who saw them would think that all they had was the things in the boat.
After moving for ten minutes on the boats, they came across a half-buried sign that only had a part of the writing showing.
It said ’Xuyin Processing Plant’.
Leng Pan hadn’t expected that in this place, there was a food factory.
"How did we miss this place before?" Ouyang Jin asked curiously.
"This place is a bit far from the rest of the factories. So, it’s normal that we haven’t found it. Moreover, I don’t think it’s a famous factory." Leng Pan said.
Indeed, as a modern college student, or someone who had just graduated from college before the apocalypse, she knew many snack brands because most girls liked them.
However, most of the snacks in this place were ones she had never seen before.
Without reading the package or seeing the photo on it, she wouldn’t know what was inside.
So, it was understandable that this place had been ignored by many.
However, she didn’t think that nobody knew about the factory. Maybe it was because people hadn’t exhausted all the supplies in the most obvious spots.
Once people couldn’t find even a pack of instant noodles, they would definitely start searching every nook and cranny for something to eat and such factories couldn’t hide.
Leng Pan looked at the building where a part of the wall had collapsed allowing the supplies inside to spill outside slowly.
"That explains the floating goods," Assistant Yao said.
"Indeed. If the building was intact, I am afraid it wouldn’t have been easy to find this place." Lu Hao said, looking as cool as ever.
Just as they were about to move towards the opening on the building, the disk in Leng Pan’s hand suddenly showed a reaction.
The light flashed from green to yellow.
