Chapter 456: Chapter 456: Wiped Out
Without a second thought, Leng Pan pushed her hands upward and the water around the two boats rose with them.
A barrier was created that isolated the smaller creatures that had just surfaced.
The bigger one remained between the two boats and swam towards the second boat.
It slammed itself against the boat causing it to rock violently.
The people inside had to hold onto the boat for dear life to prevent themselves from rolling over into the water.
However, the creature wasn’t giving them any time to react and prepare as it came at them again.
This time, it didn’t attempt to slam at the boat but jumped about two meters high and dived directly towards the boat.
Seeing this, everyone in the boat let go of their hands and wielded their weapons.
Ouyang Jin made a small tornado on top of the water that slowed down the falling speed of the creature.
At the same time, the others launched attacks on it while those holding swords slashed it.
The outer layer of the skin proved to be hard to breach but the repeated attacks peeled off some scales from its back.
Upon seeing the opening, one of the warriors on board the second boat with a water ability created a short but thick icicle then drove it into the space where the scales had been removed.
Once the icicle was deep inside the creature, the warrior clenched his fists then opened it.
The icicle inside the creature’s body burst into tiny needles that created a massive wound inside its body.
The pain made the creature roar and thrash in the water as if it was trying to self-destruct.
The others saw an opportunity and attacked the same spot with different superpowers and weapons.
Soon, the creature didn’t have the strength to move anymore.
Its movements slowed down until they stopped completely.
"That thing had such a thick skin. If all of them are like this then we are going to have a problem." Juan Ke commented.
"No, I think that was the leader. The others should be easier to handle. Especially now that they have lost their leader." Ouyang Jin said.
They all turned around to attack the smaller creatures who had appeared later but we’re surprised to find that the water was already calm.
There wasn’t a single creature in sight.
"Eh! Where did they go? Did they run after seeing their leader die?" The warrior with water ability asked.
"That’s unlikely. It must be Commander Leng and the others in the other boat." Vanish said with certainty.
He was well aware that since Leng Pan and Lu Zhen had already decided to eliminate all aliens and zombies, they wouldn’t let any go willingly.
"Stop looking, their bodies have already sank into the water." Lu Tao said proudly from the other boat.
As it turned out, while Ouyang Jin and his team were busy killing the leader, Leng Pan had used her ability to trap the others and the people on her boat attacked them in waves, completely mutilating them.
Now, the water had gone back to calmness once more.
However, this kind of calmness couldn’t fool anyone anymore.
Leng Pan took the metal disk back from her husband and checked the flashing light. It was green again, showing that there were only humans now within a range of fifty meters.
"It seems thses creatures adapt to their environment and use it against humans. If we hadn’t trained in water combat, we would have suffered some losses today." Leng Pan said with a sigh.
"That’s true. But I still don’t get why the light kept flashing yellow and red when only those aliens were present." Someone from the team said.
"Maybe it is because they were not completely aliens but hybrids." Lu Zhen suddenly said.
"Hubby, what do you mean?" Leng Pan turned to her husband with a confused expression.
"These things are obviously not naturally formed. They were created in a lab somewhere. So, what if they were created as a hybrid between a zombie and an alien?" Lu Zhen replied to his beloved.
"Crap! Do those researchers have a bottom line? It’s one thing to experiment on humans because at least we can say that they are trying to make humanity stronger, but what do they want with zombies?" Silk couldn’t help and ask in disgust.
"Don’t forget who we are." Blaze suddenly spoke.
His statement caused those who were in the know to fall into deep thought.
Could it be that these creatures were Commander Qui’s doing? If so, then he has completely crossed the line.
"It doesn’t matter for now, but once the floods are over and the water dries up, we can go and investigate. I don’t believe that we won’t find anything." Leng Pan said, cutting the conversation and speculations short.

"Alright." Leng Pan said and waved her hand, instructing the boats to start moving again.
The water had calmed down again as if the battle that just took place never happened.
The creatures had disappeared to the bottom of the water and everything seemed peaceful again.
The boats headed towards the outskirts of the city.
In this area the buildings were scarce than in the city center. Even where buildings stood, they had been completely submerged and covered by the water.
In front of them was an area where some factories and warehouses once stood.
However, the team didn’t have much hope in finding anything here because most areas like this one had been raided long ago and swept clean.
Since there was no hope, Leng Pan planned to move on and keep hunting.
However, at this moment, Lu Tao suddenly shot up and stood in the boat.
"Wait." He said urgently.
"What did you see?" Lu Zhen asked his younger brother with concern.
He thought that his brother had uncovered something significant.
"There is something floating in the distance." Lu Tao said with furrowed brows.
