Chapter 453: Chapter 453: Battle in the Water

The water began to ripple at first as if something had been tossed inside.

Then, all of a sudden, a hand burst out from below.

The hand was thicker than a normal person, looking bloated.

It was pale and rotting flesh was falling off it as if it was some clay plastered on bones and was falling off after getting soaked in water.

The smell of decay became overwhelming as more and more hands surfaced then heads began to emerge from under the water.

Within seconds, a dozen or so zombies had already emerged from the water and surrounded the two boats.

Their eyes were lifeless and greyish with rotting flesh falling off the face.

Their mouths were wider than normal humans and they were making unintelligible sounds.

Without a word, Leng Pan had already launched several ice spears made from her superpower and drilled them through the heads of the zombies that had just surfaced.

The zombies sank back into the water before they could even surface completely.

Seeing this, the other people on the boats weren’t outdone. They also used their weapons or made some using their superpowers to attack the surfacing zombies.

The battle was so calm that it didn’t resemble a fight at all.

However, the zombies seemed to adapt to the changes as they didn’t surface fully after that but directly lunged at the boats the moment they appeared.

This made the scene a bit chaotic as the people on the boats responded in kind.

Blades flashed as the heads of zombies were severed.

Flame balls flashed forcing the zombies to retreat under water.

Leng Pan saw how everything was becoming chaotic and waved her hands with a single shout.

"Bind."

The water around them seemed to respond to an order as it turned into almost tangible and solid streams that wrapped around the zombies and restricted their movement.

Seeing this, Lu Hao didn’t wait to be instructed as lightning fell from the sky and hit the zombies square on the heads.

The impact of the lightning caused the water streams to break and the zombies that had been previously tied up sank to the bottom of the water.

However, more and more zombies kept surfacing as if they had a goal in mind.

The battle continued and Leng Pan had to summon her vine so that they could work together.

The vine extended its vines into the water and pulled the zombies hiding closer, then Leng Pan and the others would attack them and eliminate them instantly.

After half an hour, the water became quiet again.

All the zombies within range had been eliminated as the light of the small disk in Leng Pan’s hands returned to green.

However, Leng Pan didn’t think things were that simple.

Why were there zombies in the water here?

"Everyone, be more alert. Don’t let your guard down." She warned and the others indeed raised their alertness.

Just as expected, after the boat moves for a few more minutes, the light flashing on the disk changes from green to red directly.

Just as she had thought, there was an alien directing the attack from behind.

"Aliens." Lu Tao gasped at the sight of the changed light.

Leng Pan didn’t speak but just nodded her head.

"What should we do?" Lu Hao asked, looking straight at Leng Pan.

During the short time he had been with the family he recognized, he had learned that Leng Pan called the shots in the family.

Any major decision, even if it needed Lu Zhen to make, he would still run it through his wife.

So, to avoid taking detours, he had learned to just ask his sister-in-law directly.

"Let’s find the alien first." Leng Pan advised and the others thought it made sense.

However, the alien was well-hidden and at first nothing happened.

The water remained calm without a single ripple.

However, the red light on the disk kept flashing, showing that there was indeed an alien nearby.

Suddenly, the water rippled around twenty meters away from Leng Pan’s boat and a humanoid figure surfaced.

Even though it resembled a human, it was easy to tell that it was not.

Its skin was a strange grayish tone, almost blending with the murky water and its eyes had a faint glow.

The creature looked at them for a moment then suddenly vanished.

"Watch out!!!" Leng Pan shouted a warning and immediately, almost instinctively created a shield with water around the two boats.

Lu Zhen almost reacted as if he had a telepathic connection with his wife and just as Leng Pan’s shield formed with water, a wall of mutated fire appeared around it.

This made the shield nearly impenetrable and also bought time for the group to react.

This kind of shield took up some energy to keep intact, so, as soon as the people reacted, Leng Pan took down the shield, and so did Lu Zhen.

However, the creature seemed to have anticipated this move as it flashed the next moment and appeared next to the second boat.

It’s hand shot out of the water and went straight for one of the team members chest.

"Move."

Vanish, who was sitting in the second boat reacted instantly and pulled the man backwards and sideways.

The claw that seemed to have grown on the humanoid’s hand missed the man’s chest by an inch, but it still grazed his arm.

Blood shot out of the wound immediately, splashing on the wall of the boat and some in the water.

The injured man screamed in fear but he was immediately knocked out by Sonny, who was in the same boat.

"Noisy." Sonny said with furrowed brows.

He took a bag pack from the boat and rummaged through it before taking out a green solution.

It was the spiritual spring water mixed with herbs.

He poured some on the wound and pried open the man’s mouth and poured a mouthful of the liquid inside, before forcing him to swallow it.
