Chapter 62: Chapter 62: 1,000,000

Seeing Qin Tuo about to walk into the VIP room, Zhang Wenxia suddenly shouted.

"Stop right there!"

Everyone in the room jumped, startled by her cry.

Zhang Wenxia rushed over in a panic and blocked the bank manager.

"Ma’am, what do you think you’re doing?"

The bank manager frowned. He was afraid of bothering Qin Tuo and incurring his displeasure.

Zhang Wenxia clamored:

"Manager, are you mistaken? This guy is just an ex-convict! How can you be so polite to him? And that bank card in his hand is probably fake!"

The bank manager gave her an annoyed look, not even wanting to bother with the woman.

"Security, get over here. If she dares to spout any more nonsense and disrespect our distinguished guest, throw her out. Understand?"

A bank guard quickly came over and made a gesture for Zhang Wenxia to leave.

Zhang Wenxia was stunned. ’What is happening?’

’They’re kicking me out... for Qin Tuo?’

Her husband, Hu Kai, was still brandishing his gold card, showing it off arrogantly.

"What kind of attitude is this? Is this how you treat your valued gold card customers? I’m going to complain to your head office!"

Just then, Zhang Wenxia marched indignantly to a teller’s counter to question an employee.

"What is wrong with you people? Why are you so respectful to that Qin Tuo? Even the manager came out to greet him personally."

She spoke in a huff, looking as if she wouldn’t leave until she got an explanation.

The bank employee smiled and explained:

"Ma’am, the card that gentleman was holding is our bank’s highest-tier card, the Supreme Black Gold Card. The balance on it is at least a hundred million."

WOW! The other customers nearby were all stunned.

Recalling what Qin Tuo had looked like moments before, they thought, ’Who would have thought he was a man worth hundreds of millions?’

Zhang Wenxia’s face went pale with fright, her heart thumping wildly.

’That can’t be right. Qin Tuo is just an ex-convict. Where would he get that kind of money?’

Hu Kai was also startled and quickly put his gold card away, suddenly realizing he had been acting like a clown.

And so, the two of them left the bank in frustration.

Just as they stepped outside, they saw a few small-time thugs—debt collectors—waiting there.

"Huh? Brother Kai?"

The leader of the thugs, Huzi, lit up and hurried over to greet him.

Hu Kai looked up and also cracked a smile.

"Huzi, it’s you. What, out here with your boys trying to make a fortune?"

Huzi let out a sinister chuckle.

"Brother Kai, some kid owes us money. We’re just waiting for him to come out with it."

Hu Kai nodded.

"Alright, Huzi. We’ll grab a drink some other time."

"You got it, Brother Kai!"

Zhang Wenxia, suddenly looking curious, couldn’t help but ask.

"Who are you waiting for?"

Huzi laughed.

"We’re waiting for the kid in the white shirt. He just went in a little while ago."

’Oh, isn’t that Qin Tuo?’

Zhang Wenxia and Hu Kai exchanged a glance.

The only young man in a white shirt inside the bank had clearly been Qin Tuo.

Zhang Wenxia asked again:

"He owes you money?"

Huzi nodded and sneered.

"Damn right he does. The kid took out a high-interest loan from us. A full five hundred thousand!"

’Five hundred thousand. No wonder!’

Thinking of Qin Tuo’s aloof demeanor, Zhang Wenxia’s expression gradually twisted.

She suddenly smiled.

"Huzi, let me tell you something. Five hundred thousand is nothing to that guy!"

"Oh? You know the kid?"

Huzi’s brow furrowed.

"Heh, we more than know him. I know all about him, and let me tell you, his pockets run deep!"

Zhang Wenxia continued, adding fuel to the fire.

Huzi quickly pressed for more.

"Please, just tell me. What’s this kid’s deal?"

Zhang Wenxia gave a conspiratorial smile.

"Let me put it this way: he has a card with hundreds of millions on it!"

What! Hundreds of millions?

Huzi’s eyes immediately shone brightly, and his breathing grew heavy. He muttered to himself.

’No wonder the kid agreed so readily and even offered to pay off someone else’s debt. So he’s loaded!’

After Zhang Wenxia and Hu Kai left, Huzi ordered his two lackeys:

"Remember this for later: ask the kid for a lot more money. He’s a pushover, and he’s got more money than sense!"

"You got it, Brother Hu, we understand."

The lackeys nodded repeatedly, sneering.

How could they possibly let such a fat sheep go?

At the bank’s entrance, the manager was bowing and scraping as he respectfully escorted Qin Tuo out.

"Mr. Qin, if you need anything in the future, just give me a call. There’s no need to trouble yourself by coming in person."

The manager said with a beaming smile.

Qin Tuo nodded.

"Alright. Thank you for your trouble today, Manager Chen."

"Oh, it’s no trouble at all, no trouble at all! Please, Mr. Qin, don’t be a stranger."

Qin Tuo was carrying a heavy black bag containing five hundred thousand in cash.

Seeing Huzi and his thugs smoking over there, Qin Tuo walked straight toward them.

"Here’s your money. Remember, don’t come back and cause trouble again!"

Qin Tuo threw the large bag of cash heavily onto the ground.

However, Huzi tossed his cigarette butt aside without even glancing at the bag.

"Kid, five hundred thousand isn’t enough!"

Hmm?

Qin Tuo whipped around and stared daggers at Huzi, his eyes turning ice-cold.

Under Qin Tuo’s gaze, Huzi suddenly felt a chill run down his spine.

But then he remembered what Zhang Wenxia had said and forced himself to act tough.

"Kid, what are you looking at? Five hundred thousand was the price before. Half the day has passed, so now it’s at least a million!"

The lackeys beside him also started clamoring.

"That’s right! A million, not a penny less!"

"Hmph! If you can’t cough up a million, we’ll go find that little broad every single day. You can protect her once, but you can’t protect her forever!"

The thugs knew very well that Qin Tuo’s weak spot was Han Zilin.

And so, they looked as if they had Qin Tuo right where they wanted him.

Qin Tuo’s face was expressionless as he said coldly:

"And what if I don’t?"

"Heh! Kid, if you don’t pay up, you’re not going home today!"

Huzi let out a vicious laugh and walked directly toward Qin Tuo.

’In his eyes, with so many of his boys here, wasn’t taking care of one Qin Tuo a piece of cake?’

"You’re courting death!"

A cold glint flashed in Qin Tuo’s eyes as he threw a punch straight forward.

"Heh! You little bastard, you dare raise a hand against your grandpa?"

Huzi had been waiting for Qin Tuo to make the first move. He sneered and lunged forward, flailing wildly.

"ARGH!"

The next moment, Qin Tuo’s heavy fist sent him flying backward.

The gang of thugs were all dumbstruck!

"What are you idiots staring at? Get him!"

Huzi shouted, clutching his chest.

"Kill this son of a bitch!"

The thugs rushed forward, yelling and screaming.

Qin Tuo sneered continuously, his hands moving like lightning. With every move, another thug was knocked to the ground.

"A bunch of trash!"

Qin Tuo sneered, preparing to leave.

Lying on the ground, Huzi yelled defiantly.

"Kid, we’re from the Cyan Fire Gang! You’ve crossed the Cyan Fire Gang, so get ready for endless retaliation!"
