Chapter 6: Chapter 6: I’ll Save What Immortals Can’t
His words made several people stare in surprise.
Song Moyan frowned and said, displeased.
"Young man, what do you know? I am using a superior Acupuncture Skill to treat Mr. Chen. If you don’t understand, you’d best keep your mouth shut!"
Still fuming, he added a curse under his breath.
"Some snot-nosed brat who’s studied medicine for all of two days dares to show off in front of me!"
Qin Tuo didn’t stoop to his level. After all, Chen Wenxiong’s illness was the top priority.
He said coldly.
"The White Crane Acupuncture Technique you’re using might be effective for ordinary lung diseases, but it won’t work here. In fact, it will only worsen his condition and hasten his death."
Hearing this, both Chen Wenxiong and his daughter looked startled, their expressions turning hesitant.
Song Moyan’s heart, however, skipped a beat!
’This kid... He can actually recognize that I’m using the White Crane Acupuncture Technique?’
The White Crane Acupuncture Technique was an incredibly advanced acupuncture method; most people wouldn’t even recognize it on sight.
But Song Moyan just snorted coldly, feigning indifference.
"Young man, stop spouting nonsense. Just watch and see how I cure Mr. Chen!"
Just as Qin Tuo was about to say more, Chen Man Ni stepped forward and cut him off with a sarcastic laugh.
"Qin Tuo, are you just afraid someone’s going to steal your thunder?"
Qin Tuo just snorted, not bothering to argue with her.
Seeing his daughter and Qin Tuo about to argue, Chen Wenxiong quickly stepped in to mediate.
He forced a smile and said.
"Mr. Qin, why don’t we just let Master Song here give it a try..."
Chen Wenxiong thought, ’At least this Song Moyan was able to diagnose my condition. Maybe he really does have a solution.’
’At this point, all I can do is give it a try.’
Qin Tuo shook his head and spread his hands helplessly.
"I’ve said my piece. If you insist on courting death, I won’t stop you."
Chen Wenxiong’s expression froze at his words.
"You brat! How dare you speak to my father like that? Watch your mouth, or I’ll make you regret it!"
Chen Man Ni flew into a rage, jabbing a finger at Qin Tuo.
Qin Tuo just shook his head helplessly, saying nothing.
He’d made himself perfectly clear and didn’t want to argue any further.
"Master, please begin!"
Chen Wenxiong took a deep breath.
Song Moyan nodded, shot a provocative glance at Qin Tuo, and sneered.
"You brat, Qin! I’ll let you witness the true power of the White Crane Acupuncture Technique!"
Seeing Qin Tuo’s expressionless face, he assumed the young man was speechless with anger, and a wave of satisfaction washed over him.
Song Moyan reined in his thoughts and focused. He took a Silver Needle, located an acupoint, and inserted it with unerring accuracy.
Chen Wenxiong let out a muffled grunt but had no other unusual reaction.
Song Moyan’s movements were indeed seasoned and skillful. Each needle he placed found its mark, sinking precisely into an acupoint.
Nearby, both Chen Man Ni and Qin Tuo watched intently.
As the technique was performed, the tension in Chen Wenxiong’s face indeed began to ease significantly.
"Mr. Chen, how are you feeling?"
Song Moyan asked as he continued to insert the needles.
Chen Wenxiong nodded, a bit of healthy color gradually returning to his face.
"Master Song, this acupuncture technique is miraculous! I feel so much better all over!"
Song Moyan nodded, looking proud and smug.
"Rest assured, Mr. Chen. In a little while, I’ll have your illness completely under control."
As he spoke, he shot another arrogant, defiant glance at Qin Tuo.
Seeing her father’s condition improving, Chen Man Ni was ecstatic.
Then, as if remembering something, she shot a mocking glance at Qin Tuo!
"Some people really think they’re the best doctor in the world, completely unaware that there’s always a higher mountain to climb."
However, she found that Qin Tuo wasn’t fazed by her taunt at all. Instead, his expression only grew more solemn.
’Hmph, this brat!’
Chen Man Ni felt dismissive.
’Go on, keep putting on an act. Once the master has cured my dad, we’ll see how I humiliate you!’
Chen Man Ni sneered to herself.
Song Moyan continued applying the needles. With each Silver Needle he placed, a little more color returned to Chen Wenxiong’s face.
As he was about to finish with the set of Silver Needles, Song Moyan put on a profound, inscrutable expression—the very picture of a grandmaster!
Chen Man Ni’s eyes filled with deep admiration.
Nearby, Qin Tuo remained silent, just watching with a grave expression.
The moment the last needle sank into the acupoint, Chen Wenxiong’s face suddenly went deathly pale!
GACK...
He cried out in agony as his body shot bolt upright. He threw his head back, spat out a mouthful of blood, and collapsed to the ground, unconscious.
"Dad! What’s wrong?!"
Chen Man Ni, terrified, rushed forward to help her father.
Nearby, Song Moyan stood frozen, a Silver Needle still in his hand, his face a mask of panic.
He muttered to himself.
"Impossible... How could this be happening?"
Tears streaming down her face, Chen Man Ni frantically asked.
"Master Song, what on earth is happening? Why did my father collapse?!"
Song Moyan stammered, his voice laced with panic.
"Miss Chen... I... I don’t know either! In all my years of practice, I’ve never encountered a situation like this!"
The room descended into chaos, while Chen Wenxiong remained on the floor, his eyes shut, completely unresponsive.
At that moment, Qin Tuo finally spoke.
"Mr. Chen’s illness is caused by a tenacious poison that has been accumulating in his body for twenty years. By trying to expel it directly with acupuncture, you’ve only harmed him."
"What? A tenacious poison for twenty years?"
Song Moyan’s face instantly turned a ghastly shade of pale.
He knew he had made a terrible mistake.
"Well... I didn’t know! How could I have known Mr. Chen’s illness had been going on for so long? Why didn’t you tell me beforehand?"
Song Moyan said defensively, shooting a pleading look at Qin Tuo.
Chen Man Ni suddenly shot to her feet and grabbed Qin Tuo’s arm desperately.
"Mr. Qin! I’m begging you, please save my father! You’re the only one who can save him now!"
Tears streamed down her cheeks, her eyes filled with utter despair.
Seeing that Qin Tuo showed no reaction, Chen Man Ni steeled herself and said through gritted teeth.
"Mr. Qin, if you can cure my father, I’ll agree to anything you ask. Anything at all!"
Qin Tuo shook his head and let out a helpless sigh.
"The Silver Needles triggered a backlash. A violent surge of energy has attacked his heart. At this point, not even an immortal could save him!"
THUMP!
Chen Man Ni was so stunned she collapsed onto the floor, completely dazed.
Song Moyan knew it too. He was completely screwed.
If Chen Wenxiong died because of him, the consequences would be catastrophic.
But at this critical moment, Qin Tuo suddenly spoke again.
"However... where an immortal fails, I can succeed!"
What?!
Chen Man Ni snapped out of her daze, her head whipping around to stare intently at Qin Tuo.
Song Moyan was equally incredulous, his mouth hanging wide open.
Qin Tuo gestured decisively with a wave of his hand.
"Give me the needles!"
