Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Yellow Springs 13 Needles
When he spoke, neither Chen Man Ni nor Song Moyan reacted.
Qin Tuo frowned.
"What? Do you want Mr. Chen to die?"
The two were jolted back to reality, and Song Moyan scrambled to hand over the Silver Needles.
However, Qin Tuo only took thirteen of them, handing the rest back.
"Huh? What does he mean by this?"
Song Moyan’s brow furrowed deeply.
’If he’s going to perform acupuncture, why take only thirteen needles?’
’Hmph, whatever. The kid’s taken over now. Whatever happens next has nothing to do with me!’
Chen Wenxiong’s face had already turned pitch-black as the toxic energy spread toward his neck. He looked beyond saving, his death a certainty.
Now, he was fully prepared to shift all the blame onto Qin Tuo.
With the Silver Needles in hand, Qin Tuo slowly began to place them.
He first targeted a very peculiar acupoint, inserting the Silver Needle in his hand slowly but with steady, firm pressure.
Chen Man Ni watched nervously, not daring to breathe.
’Qin Tuo... can he really do this?’
Chen Man Ni felt a wave of apprehension.
’After all, even a master like Song Moyan failed. Can Qin Tuo really do it?’
Qin Tuo proceeded to place the second Silver Needle.
This time, he located a strange acupoint on the shoulder and inserted the needle with a steady hand.
’Hm? Why that acupoint?’
Song Moyan watched, a strange expression on his face.
The acupoints Qin Tuo chose were all in bizarre locations, seemingly unrelated to the man’s condition.
’Does this kid even know how to use needles?’
A huge question mark formed in Song Moyan’s mind.
But Qin Tuo’s movements remained steady and his rhythm swift as he placed one Silver Needle after another.
But without a doubt, Qin Tuo’s choice of acupoints was unconventional; they were all in obscure, rarely used locations.
At that, Song Moyan finally couldn’t help but let out a sneer.
’This kid doesn’t know the first thing about this. He doesn’t even grasp the basics of acupuncture, yet he dares to show up and make a fool of himself?’
In his eyes, Qin Tuo was all show and no substance.
’If I couldn’t do it, of course this kid would be even worse!’
Qin Tuo had finished placing all thirteen Silver Needles. At his side, deep worry filled Chen Man Ni’s eyes, but she didn’t dare to speak up and ask what was happening.
"Hmph, you little..."
Song Moyan sneered, opening his mouth to mock him.
But just then, he took a closer look, and his heart suddenly seized!
’Wait! This looks like...’
His eyes flew wide as he stared intently at Chen Wenxiong’s body.
The positions of the thirteen Silver Needles faintly formed a distinct pattern!
’Th-th-this... No way!’
Song Moyan felt his heart pounding. The position, arrangement, and depth of the Silver Needles were just like that legendary acupuncture technique!
’My God, does someone in this world really know that formidable technique?’
Song Moyan was utterly dumbfounded.
He abruptly turned his head to look at Qin Tuo, his voice tinged with nervousness.
"Mr. Qin, if I may be so bold... is the technique you’re using the legendary... Thirteen Nails of the Underworld?"
After he asked, his expression was a mixture of tension and apprehension.
Qin Tuo slowly exhaled and nodded without a word—a clear admission.
"My God, it really is the Thirteen Nails of the Underworld!"
A whirlwind of expressions flashed across Song Moyan’s old face.
Clenching his jaw, he made a momentous decision.
THUD!
Song Moyan dropped to his knees on the spot, his expression firm with resolve.
"Brother Qin... Master Qin! I beg you, please, you must take me as your disciple!"
Qin Tuo frowned and ignored him.
Having just performed the Thirteen Nails of the Underworld, he felt somewhat drained.
Seeing Qin Tuo ignore him, Song Moyan began to kowtow, his forehead striking the floor with audible thuds.
"Master Qin! I have admired the Thirteen Nails of the Underworld for ages! Please, take me as your disciple and show me a higher level of the Medical Dao Realm!"
With that, he remained kneeling, refusing to rise.
Chen Man Ni was already dumbstruck. ’The Chairman of the Southwest Pharmaceutical Association is kneeling before Qin Tuo, begging to become his disciple?’
’This world is insane!’
"Chairman Song, what... what’s going on?"
Chen Man Ni stammered.
Song Moyan gave a bitter laugh and explained.
"Miss Chen, you wouldn’t know, but what Master Qin just performed was the Thirteen Nails of the Underworld, a long-lost legendary technique in the Medical Dao Realm!"
"This technique can bring the dead back to life and grow flesh on bare bones. Even if a patient already has one foot in the grave, it can forcibly drag them back. It’s nothing short of heaven-defying!"
"What?! A technique that powerful?!"
Chen Man Ni’s eye twitched, and her heart was immediately filled with wild joy.
’Does this mean Dad is saved?’
"Master Qin, I beg of you, you must accept this old man as your disciple!"
Song Moyan shuffled forward on his knees and latched onto Qin Tuo’s leg, refusing to let go.
He had dedicated his life to medicine; his greatest desire was to learn such a brilliant acupuncture method!
’Now that he had seen the Thirteen Nails of the Underworld with his own eyes, how could he possibly let this chance slip by?’
Qin Tuo shook his head.
"Mr. Song, please rise. We can discuss the matter of discipleship later."
Song Moyan grew anxious.
Just as he was about to speak, Chen Wenxiong let out a groan and slowly began to stir.
"Dad, you’re awake!"
Chen Man Ni’s face lit up with joy.
"Manni, what just happened?"
Chen Wenxiong looked bewildered, as if he’d lost his memory.
Chen Man Ni excitedly recounted what had just happened.
"So that’s what happened..."
Chen Wenxiong remembered the recent events, and his face instantly turned beet red.
He pulled his hand free from Chen Man Ni’s, walked over to Qin Tuo, and dropped to his knees with a thud.
Seeing Chen Wenxiong kneel, Chen Man Ni’s face went pale with shock.
But remembering that Qin Tuo had just saved her father’s life, she held her tongue.
His face full of gratitude, Chen Wenxiong said earnestly.
"Mr. Qin, you’ve saved my life once again. I truly have no way to repay you!"
"I didn’t listen to your warning earlier and nearly got myself killed. I am so ashamed!"
As he spoke, his old face flushed red, and he didn’t dare to meet Qin Tuo’s eyes.
Qin Tuo gave a casual wave of his hand and helped Chen Wenxiong to his feet.
"It’s nothing. Please, Mr. Chen, get up."
He then asked Chen Man Ni for a pen and paper.
SCRIBBLING...
Qin Tuo quickly wrote out a prescription and handed it to Chen Wenxiong.
"Mr. Chen, go home and have this prescription filled. Take care of yourself, and I believe your condition will improve before long."
"Thank you for saving my life, Mr. Qin. This is just a small token of my immense gratitude. You must accept it."
Feeling that he could never truly repay his gratitude, Chen Wenxiong took a set of keys and a black, gilt-edged bank card from his coat.
"Mr. Qin, these are the keys to a villa in Half Moon Bay, along with an exclusive international client black card from Ruifeng Bank. It’s just a small token to show my appreciation!"
Qin Tuo shook his head, intending to refuse.
However, Chen Wenxiong was insistent.
He pressed the keys and the card directly into Qin Tuo’s hand.
It was an offer too gracious to refuse, so Qin Tuo had no choice but to accept.
"In that case, it would be rude to refuse."
"I have some things to take care of at home. Farewell."
