Chapter 5: Chapter 5: You’re Harming People
Qin Tuo just sneered, treating the bitch as if she were thin air.
The car door opened, and out stepped Chen Wenxiong. Dressed in a Zhongshan suit, he radiated an imposing aura.
The crowd of guests stared, their eyes filled with respect.
Seeing this, Zhao Peng and Xu Min hurried over, their faces wreathed in sycophantic smiles.
"Oh, Mr. Chen! For you to personally attend my humble engagement party... What have I done to deserve this honor?"
Zhao Peng’s smile was so effusive, he looked like he wanted to get on his knees and lick Chen Wenxiong’s shoes.
Xu Min, at his side, was also flushed with excitement.
Chen Wenxiong frowned.
"Excuse me, you are?"
The bodyguards behind him moved to subtly block Zhao Peng and Xu Min from getting any closer.
Zhao Peng’s face went blank!
"Mr. Chen, aren’t you here for my engagement party?"
"Oh, right, let me introduce myself. I’m Zhao Peng, son of the chairman of the Xingrui Real Estate Company!"
Hearing this, Chen Wenxiong finally understood.
"Oh, an engagement party. Congratulations. However, I’m not here for the party. I’m here to host an important guest."
What?
Zhao Peng and Xu Min froze, their expressions turning incredibly awkward.
The crowd of guests broke into excited chatter.
"My God, he wasn’t here for the engagement party? He’s here to host someone else?"
"Impossible! Who could possibly be worthy of a personal invitation from someone like Chen Wenxiong, the richest man in the city?"
"Exactly! Any of the other tycoons in Ming City would be bragging for months if they just got to share a meal with him. When have we ever heard of him personally inviting someone to dinner!"
Everyone began to speculate. Just who was this mysterious guest? What kind of powerhouse could they be?
To think that Ming City was hiding such a titan!
Qin Tuo had been about to enter the hotel, but he stopped when he noticed Chen Wenxiong’s arrival.
Frowning, Chen Wenxiong pushed through the crowd, his bodyguards clearing a path.
Suddenly, his expression froze as he stared intently at Qin Tuo ahead.
The next moment, his face lit up with ecstatic joy. He rushed forward and enthusiastically extended both hands!
"Ah, Mr. Qin! You actually came! I am beyond grateful. Your presence here is a tremendous honor!"
Qin Tuo nodded and politely extended his hand.
The entire scene fell silent. Every guest’s jaw dropped, their minds going completely blank.
Zhao Peng and Xu Min looked completely stupefied.
"Did I hear that right? The honored guest Mr. Chen is hosting... is that kid Qin Tuo?!"
Unbelievable!
What is happening to the world? This is insane!
Zhao Peng suddenly shuddered and quickly stepped forward to block them.
"Mr. Chen, you must have the wrong person! How could a worthless nobody like him possibly be your esteemed guest?"
At his words, all the surrounding guests nodded in agreement.
Chen Wenxiong’s expression, however, instantly darkened.
Before Qin Tuo could speak, Chen Wenxiong let out a cold snort.
"Young Master Zhao, Mr. Qin is my VIP. I suggest you show some respect!"
"Furthermore... perhaps you all have some misconceptions about Mr. Qin. His abilities are far beyond your imagination!"
He then turned back to Qin Tuo, his expression changing back to a smile.
"Mr. Qin, let’s not let these people spoil the mood. Shall we proceed directly to private room 888?"
His words caused another uproar.
"My God, Room 888! That’s the one and only VIP suite in the entire Lige Hotel. Usually, there’s a waiting list of at least six months to book that room!"
Then again, considering the hotel itself belonged to Chen Wenxiong, it wasn’t surprising at all.
The crowd watched Chen Wenxiong and Qin Tuo head upstairs, their faces a mixture of envy and jealousy.
Zhao Peng and Xu Min exchanged a look, their minds reeling in utter confusion.
’That kid... is actually a guest of the richest man in Ming City?’
...
Upon entering the private room, they saw that besides Chen Man Ni, there was an old man sitting there. He wore a gray robe and was gaunt, but his eyes were exceptionally sharp and full of spirit.
Chen Wenxiong asked doubtfully.
"Manni, who is this?"
Chen Man Ni quickly put down her phone, walked over with a smile, and took Chen Wenxiong’s arm.
"Dad, this is Chairman Song Moyan of the Southwest Pharmaceutical Association. I managed to pull some strings and invite him here especially to treat you."
Song Moyan rose and gave a slight nod of acknowledgment.
Hearing this, Chen Wenxiong felt a bit troubled.
Top-tier physicians all have their own pride, and he was worried this situation would offend Qin Tuo.
"Manni, I’ve invited Mr. Qin here today. Let’s discuss this another time."
Chen Man Ni grew anxious.
"Dad! Chairman Song’s medical skills are extraordinary! He’s cured many supposedly incurable diseases. He’s nothing like those charlatans out there. You can’t miss an opportunity like this."
As she spoke, she shot Qin Tuo a defiant glance.
Fearing Qin Tuo would be displeased, Chen Wenxiong quickly rebuked her.
"Manni, be respectful!"
But Qin Tuo just shook his head, looking unconcerned.
"Mr. Chen, your daughter is just showing her filial piety. Your health is what’s most important. Why don’t you let Chairman Song take a look?"
Since Qin Tuo himself had said so, Chen Wenxiong gave it a moment’s thought before nodding cautiously.
From this exchange, Song Moyan realized that the young man before him was also a physician—and Chen Wenxiong’s guest of honor, no less.
And yet he, the esteemed Chairman of the Southwest Medical Association, had almost been turned away.
If it had been anyone other than Chen Wenxiong, he would have stormed off long ago.
’Hmph. A wet-behind-the-ears brat like him, what profound medical knowledge could he possibly have? I’ll show him what a true master looks like!’
Song Moyan shot Qin Tuo a hostile glare.
Then, setting aside his thoughts, he began to take Chen Wenxiong’s pulse.
Qin Tuo, meanwhile, sat to one side sipping his tea, looking completely unconcerned.
Fifteen minutes later, Song Moyan released Chen Wenxiong’s wrist, his expression grave.
"Chairman Song, how is my father?"
Chen Man Ni asked nervously.
Song Moyan spoke slowly.
"In his younger years, Mr. Chen’s lungs were damaged by a toxic gas. The affliction has been festering for decades. To completely root it out, a unique acupuncture technique is required."
"Oh? Chairman Song, are you certain?"
Upon hearing this, Chen Wenxiong felt a surge of hope.
Chen Man Ni’s eyebrows shot up in triumph, and she threw a glance at Qin Tuo.
The meaning was very obvious...
’See? My father can be cured even without you!’
Qin Tuo continued to sip his tea, ignoring her.
"In that case, please begin the treatment, Chairman Song!"
Chen Man Ni immediately urged.
Song Moyan nodded and carefully retrieved a case of Silver Needles.
His movements were practiced and fluid. He took out a single needle, holding it between two fingers.
With no one else in the room, it was completely silent.
After a moment of observation, Song Moyan took aim at an acupoint on Chen Wenxiong’s shoulder and prepared to insert the needle.
Just at this moment, Qin Tuo suddenly interrupted him.
"Stop!"
Song Moyan jumped, halting his hand mid-air, his face etched with displeasure.
"What are you doing, you brat named Qin? I won’t forgive you if you interfere with my father’s treatment!"
Chen Man Ni snapped.
Chen Wenxiong also shot him a questioning look.
Qin Tuo put down his teacup, his expression somewhat grave.
"Chairman Song, doing this will only harm Mr. Chen."
