Chapter 434: Chapter 434 - Balance(Part 2)
Point-of-View: Caera

I formed twelve Blood Clones and had them cover me, shuffling myself amongst them before my clones and I swiftly spread out, charging up concentrated, pressurized blood attacks and taking aim at the figure.
He didn’t respond to my question...I have no choice but to take that as a yes. He’s here to kill me...and my instincts are telling me that I don’t stand a chance against him.
Not even Lord Dracula has ever stoked such fear in me, I cannot defeat this being...in which case, I need to flee. I’ll use the same tactic I utilized against the humans, it worked once, and it just might work again.
"Resistance is futile, simply surrender yourself to your impending, inevitable fate. All you will accomplish is waste my time."
"Please, as if I care about your time. Here’s a suggestion...if you don’t want to waste time here, then just leave," I responded through one of my clones, as we continued charging up our blood attacks, compressing and pressurizing the blood to its absolute limit.
"That is not an option. As I already said...I must wipe the slate clean."
Well, it was worth a try.
My clones and I then fired out the pressurized, charged up blood in the form of rapid, piercing beams, which struck and burst through his body from several angles, before my clones and I swiftly unleashed a thick blood mist towards him.
I had my clones continue attacking as I turned around and flew away as fast as I could, my chest pounding as I strained my wings more than I ever have before, firing out pressurized jets of blood from the soles of my feet to boost my speed.
Keep going, I can’t slow down for even an instant, I have to-...!
Suddenly, my train of thought was abruptly cut off as I felt a vice grip on the back of my neck, before I was slammed onto the ground with immense, crushing force, letting out a sharp gasp as a devastating shockwave erupted upon impact, the ground around me sinking in and breaking apart, a deep crater forming as chunks of dirt and grass flew out all around me.
"Wh-what...what the hell are you...?" I uttered weakly as blood streamed out of my mouth, as he grabbed the top of my head and lifted me up.
"I am the Balancer," He replied, before driving his hand towards my torso, shooting straight towards my core.
I began to move it out of the way, but he shifted the trajectory of the thrust of his arm with unnatural precision, piercing through my stomach and grabbing hold of my core in an instant.
I extended out my claws and whipped my right arm up and across at his head, slashing through his face-...huh?
Not a single drop of blood splattered out, all I could see through the cut I’d inflicted, was a deep, endless void. What the actual-...!?
I then seized up in agony as he ripped my core out of my body and crushed it to pieces, before tossing me away as my life force rapidly burned out, my consciousness starting to fade fast as my vision darkened.
I was unable to so much as twitch a finger, my existence draining with immense speed...d-damn it, this is how I die? Really? How...pitiful...

"That energy...it’s hard to say for sure since it felt so large in scale and intensity, but it felt like it originated from somewhere in the Light Continent," Remarked Satan with a grimace.
"Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. We can’t ignore this, something’s definitely happening out there, and I seriously doubt it’s anything good," I replied as I clenched my fists in frustration.
"Huh, this must be the jinx," Responded Izzy thoughtfully.
"We don’t know for sure that it’s something bad...I mean, yes, it felt bad, but still, it might not be anything to be concerned about," Suggested Lucifer, though she didn’t look particularly convinced by her words herself.
"Let’s hope so, but to be on the safe side, we should assume it’s something bad," I said with a frown.
"So, what do we do? Head to the Light Continent and check it out?" Inquired Argent in response.
"No, that would be a waste of time. We don’t know the exact location to look in, not to mention, we don’t even know what exactly we’re looking for in the first place," Reasoned Satan objectively.
"Yeah, that’s a good point, we have absolutely no information about what we might be dealing with here. In which case, all we can really do is fortify our defenses and prepare ourselves. We’ll assume it’s some malevolent force that will attack us, and take defensive, proactive measures accordingly," I remarked after mulling it over.
"Alright, then I’ll go fetch some Magic Items that should help with that," Nodded Lumena, as she headed out.
"We should also inform the other nations to keep their guards up. It’s likely that they felt the wave of energy too, after all, so we should make sure they’re on the same page," Pointed out Argent.
"Right, I’ll go contact Obsidian. In the meantime, set up patrols across the east border, and instruct them to alert us if anyone or anything shows up," I replied as I sobered myself up.
I really, really hope this turns out to be nothing. But, considering my luck, I seriously doubt that’s the case...
