Chapter 421: Chapter 421 - Counterattack(Part 6)
Point-of-View: Ilex Sarralot
———————————————————————————
"Come on, this isn’t right...you’re way too strong for a human," Frowned Jagger as he shot towards me and drove his fist towards my face, which I swiftly dodged with a tilt of my head.
I then formed a Mana blade and whipped it across, slicing through his elbow and severing his forearm, blood spraying out before he quickly flew back and off to the right as I unleashed a sharp burst of Mana from my chest cannon.
He narrowly evaded the blast, before grimacing as a rapid earth spike came zipping up towards him and plunged into his right foot as he failed to fully avoid it, before he wrenched his foot free of the spike and began to fly away as Terrastra formed a sharp earth projectile and took aim at him.
As he got some distance away from her, Tania swiftly Enchanted the prone tile right as Terrastra fired it, the shard shooting towards the Vampire with immense, blinding speed.
His eyes widened in alarm before he quickly veered off to his left, a stifled gasp of pain ringing out as the projectile sliced across his right side and inflicted a deep gash across his skin and flesh, blood streaming out before he fired off a barrage of blood projectiles at us.
I swiftly formed a shield of Mana in front of myself as Terrastra put up a wall of earth to protect herself and Tania, while I began charging Mana into my Amplifiers, which were turned to their highest multiplier setting of x5.
As the volley of blood projectiles petered out, I then took down my Mana wall and locked onto him with my Amplifiers, narrowing my gaze before pulling the triggers.
I got pushed back several meters through the air as a pair of massive, drilling beams of Mana erupted out of my Amplifiers, barreling towards him rapidly as the space got blanketed in a pale blue glow.
I lost sight of him as my beams engulfed him, but I could feel that they’d connected...a loud crash rang out as the beams continued to barrel forward and slammed against the wall ahead of me, before bursting through, deep cracks spreading out across the wall around the large hole that had been carved out by my Mana beams.
The cracks widened as my beams ran out of steam and began to fade, before the entire wall broke apart and collapsed into a pile of large chunks of rubble, a cloud of dust billowing out as I then shot forward...he’s probably realized that he’s fighting a losing battle by now, so he might be thinking about running away.
And I’m not about to let that happen...I’m itching to kill him, and I can’t, and won’t, suppress my bloodlust right now. I need to sate it, so there’s no way I’m letting him get away...
As I flew through the opening where the wall used to be, I carefully surveyed the area as the dust began to clear, before narrowing my eyes as I spotted a section of the rubble shifting slightly, with trails of blood trickling out through the gaps.
Several chunks of rubble then flew out as he emerged from the pile, most of the right side of his body gone, vaporized by my beams, blood pouring out and splattering across the rubble as he used his tail to support himself while his right leg regenerated.
"Try and put up a bit more of a fight...I’m not gonna be satisfied if this ends up being too easy," I remarked icily, waiting for him to finish regenerating as he shakily caught his breath.
"I...I’m starting to see why our attack on the Dark Continent failed. It wasn’t just the Demons, Dragon Kings, and that human with the Contracts...we failed to account for serious threats like you, and possibly at least a few more humans, as well. And I can sense it, just how intent you are on killing me," He replied, before turning his gaze down as Terrastra raised the earth below him and snared his legs, holding him in place.
"It’s over, Jagger. It’s a shame that I wasn’t able to face Jevera again and exact my revenge for what the two of you did to me, but at least I get to see your demise for myself," She stated coldly.
"Yes, it would indeed appear as though my time has come...I see no way out of this, not without the moonlight barrier. And I stand no chance of escaping alive...I can see that that human has no intention of putting me out of my misery swiftly, he fully intends to put me through immense pain and suffering before I die. In which case, there’s only one logical move to be made on my part," Sighed Jagger, before my eyes widened in surprise as he suddenly plunged his claws into his own stomach, grimacing in pain.
Huh? What is he...?
"What do you think you’re-...?" Began Terrastra with a frown, before trailing off as a shattering sound echoed out from inside his body.
"I...won’t give...you the...satisfaction...," He uttered, before his body went limp and slumped forward, held up by the earth restraints around his legs.
"Did...did he just kill himself?" Spoke up Terrastra in bewilderment, after a brief, stunned pause.
"It would appear so, yes," Nodded Terrastra, as I clicked my tongue in frustration.
Damn it...I feel so unsatisfied and irritated. I...I wanted to tear him apart and rip him to shreds, I wanted to beat him to a bloody pulp, I wanted to hear him beg for mercy, to beg for death...tch, but he just had to go and take that away from me.
I could go try to find one of the other Elder Vampires, but the others will probably have defeated them by the time I get there...alright, then, guess my only choice is to head outside and take on the regular Vampires and Lesser Vampires. Maybe massacring a few hundred or so will sate me...
