Chapter 129: Recovering Memories & Quest Reward
After breakfast, everyone returned to their respective rooms.
The reason was simple, they all desperately needed rest.
Their bodies were exhausted, and their minds were still somewhat disorganized after everything they had experienced.
Besides, Dr. Heinz Doomshmirtz had unofficially given them the day off.
Or perhaps, they simply forget that today was the 6th day, the weekend, and an official holiday! Unknowing they had thanked the doctor for something he had not done.
Back in their dorm, Caelum and Paul entered their room alongside Voomie, Jojo, and one additional passenger.
The E-Boy.
The bird had somehow decided that Caelum’s head was now its favorite resting place.
It sat there proudly, refusing to move.
Voomie glanced toward Jojo, she was clearly wondering whether they should tell the others of everything that had happened.
Jojo subtly shook his head.
The divine power he had sensed from Dr. Heinz Doomshmirtz still lingered in his mind.
That wasn’t ordinary divinity, it was something far more terrifying and for now, silence was the safest choice.
Meanwhile, Caelum sat down cross-legged as his mental state felt strangely disordered.
If this had been the cultivation world, he would have looked like someone on the verge of developing Heart Demons.
Closing his eyes, he entered meditation and like always, he carefully examined every part of his body.
Soon, he noticed something unusual within his mind space.
’A talisman? I don’t remember placing one here.’
Curious, he extended his Spirit Sense toward it.
And the instant they came into contact, a torrent of memories flooded into his mind.
"This...!" Caelum’s eyes widened.
His original memories of the Drifting Dimension had indeed been sealed by Dr. Heinz Doomshmirtz.
However, before that happened, he had secretly stored those memories inside a [Memory Talisman].
It was like locking away the original document after first making a copy.
A faint smile appeared on his face as he secretly glanced toward Jojo and Voomie.
Their expressions confirmed his suspicion that neither of them had lost their memories.
As for the E-Boy, it simply continued sitting on his head without caring about anything.
For the next half of the day, Caelum remained in meditation.
Meanwhile, everyone else slept soundly.
Looking toward Paul, Caelum couldn’t help but sigh.
"He finally found his courage..."
Unfortunately, the one thing for now that Paul would not remember was the first moment he had overcome his fear.
Shaking his head, Caelum opened his System as he looked at the quest that had nearly cost all of them their lives.

Quest (Completed)
Description: You are once again unluckier than a dog! You can’t even enjoy swimming on a summer day! Now fight and carve your way back!
Reward: Stone of Fä’l
Failure: Soul Corruption
——————
Caelum narrowed his eyes.
’This reward had better be worth 175,000 System Points.’
The [Soul Banner of an Evil Cultivator] alone had cost one hundred thousand and the remaining miscellaneous talismans had consumed nearly another seventy-five thousand.
It had been one of the most expensive purchases he had ever made.
Without hesitation, he claimed the reward.
A faint flash appeared before him and the next moment, a familiar black stone landed in his palm.
It was identical to the one he had seen just before everyone was dragged into the Drifting Dimension.
Ancient crimson carvings covered its surface, and those strange symbols seemed to pulse faintly with an unknown power.
Caelum stared at it for a few seconds as the corner of his mouth twitched.
"...Don’t tell me this is a scam."
He couldn’t help cursing the System.
Carefully, he extended his Spirit Sense toward the mysterious stone, hoping to discover exactly what kind of reward he had just spent one hundred and seventy-five thousand System Points to obtain.

Within the blood-red world, Jiang Moqin stood with countless holes piercing his body.
Opposite him, the divine entity remained completely unharmed as she looked down upon him with undisguised disgust.
[What an abhorrent existence you are, not even allowing the dead to rest in peace!]
Jiang Moqin simply shrugged.
"Feel however you want, I neither possess the luxury nor the ability to empathize with the dead, and you’re hardly in a position to lecture me."
As he spoke, the holes throughout his body rapidly repaired themselves.
At the same time, several ghostly souls surrounding him faded into nothingness.
They had become the price for his regeneration.
The battle was completely one-sided as the divine entity overwhelmed him in every exchange.
Fortunately, his objective had already been accomplished.
Now, all he had to do was survive.
"You should stop. At this point, only the two of us are inside this space, so why don’t we peace-" Before he could finish speaking, a punch slammed into his face.
Boom!
He shot through several mountains of corpses.
[I will destroy you for interfering!]
The divine entity’s furious voice echoed throughout the crimson world.
Jiang Moqin rubbing his cheek, feeling genuinely wronged.
"This is completely one-sided bullying..." Without a shred of dignity, he immediately turned around and ran.
The Soul Banner floated behind him.
He simply didn’t possess enough sacrifices nor enough strength to fight this being.
All he could do was pray that his Master recovered him before the divine entity annihilated him.
[YOU, JIANG! I WILL HAUNT YOU UNTIL THE END OF THE WORLDS!]
"My surname is Jiang! Please say my full name properly!" Jiang Moqin shouted while continuing to run.
He sounded genuinely offended.
This world had a strange custom, people spoke the given name before the family name.
They barely valued surnames at all!
As someone from the cultivation world, Jiang Moqin found that deeply uncomfortable.
Just then, both of them suddenly stopped.
A third figure had appeared within the blood-red world.
The newcomer had blue hair.
Caelum looked around once before cracking a cultivation joke.
"Damn it! If I don’t recover my 175,000 System Points then my surname isn’t Annum!"
Jiang Moqin’s eyes instantly lit up as he almost burst into tears.
"Finally! Someone who understands me!"
Without wasting another second, he transformed into a streak of crimson light.
The Soul Banner merged with him once more before flying directly toward the blue-haired figure.
Behind him, the divine entity’s face darkened even further.
For some reason... she suddenly had a very bad feeling.
