Chapter 115: The Bride Who Found Her Husband

Now that they had discovered a way out, the group’s objective became much simpler.

Caelum and Bonjour would focus on destroying the space itself, while others would handle any specters that attempted to interfere.

Voomie was extremely dissatisfied with this arrangement.

The main reason being that Caelum was still carrying her under one arm.

"Owner! This is animal abuse!"

Caelum ignored her ramblings.

Before the specters could launch another coordinated attack, Bonjour moved first.

Boom!

The barbarian leaped into the air as his body smashed directly into the ceiling.

Cracks spread everywhere as his hands dug into the stone-like surface.

At the same time, dozens of ghostly attacks rushed toward them.

Chains, shadows, dark projectiles.

Fortunately, Skyler’s barrier remained active.

Golden divine power weakened most of the incoming attacks before they could reach the group.

Meanwhile, Caelum prepared his own attack as Sword Qi gathered around his sword and air itself began to tremble.

Above them, Bonjour tore a massive section of the ceiling free before he hurled it downward.

The enormous chunk of stone crashed toward the specters.

Unfortunately, most of them simply phased through it.

Yet the attack revealed something important.

Beyond the ceiling, there was only darkness, an endless darkness.

Seeing that, Caelum no longer hesitated.

[One Point End]

Sharp Sword Qi condensed onto the tip of his blade compressed further until it reached a terrifying level.

Then a beam of concentrated Sword Qi shot upward.

The ceiling exploded apart.

Bonjour glanced toward Caelum.

For a brief moment, complicated emotions flashed through his eyes, however, there wasn’t time to dwell on them.

Caelum attacked again.

Each strike pierced another section of the space as cracks started spreading throughout the whole room.

The walls began to collapse and the floor shattered.

The specters released distorted screeches as their bodies destabilized.

Soon the entire space resembled a broken mirror.

Then, everything shattered and a blinding light swallowed them whole.

The world became white.

And when the light disappeared, the group slowly opened their eyes and immediately froze.

They had arrived in a completely different location.

In front of them stood an extravagant grave.

Calling it luxurious felt like an understatement.

Gold covered nearly every visible surface.

Not ordinary gold, but a superior variant infused with mana.

The material shone brilliantly despite the gloomy surroundings.

Various mana crystals were embedded throughout the structure.

Even a kingdom would become wealthy if it managed to dismantle this grave.

Several unfamiliar symbols were carved into its surface.

It was an unknown language that nobody present could read.

If they had been capable of understanding it, none of them would have willingly approached.

[Ghost Bride]

[1. Do not touch the red crystal.]

[2. You must not be single.]

[3. If you are single, do not marry.]

’That cat wasn’t lying, was it?’ Caelum thought.

To a ghostly creature, this place might genuinely be considered safe.

The others stared at the grave with varying emotions.

Unfortunately, one particular person was currently experiencing immense greed.

Skyler’s eyes sparkled and before anyone realized what he was doing, he walked forward.

The red crystal embedded atop the grave immediately caught his attention.

"Hey, wait! Don’t touch random things!"

Jojo’s expression changed.

Unfortunately, he was too late.

Skyler had already grabbed the crystal.

And the moment his fingers touched it, pain exploded through his body.

"AAAAH!"

Skyler instantly threw the crystal away.

"What was that?!" he shouted.

Bang!

A loud impact echoed from within the grave as everyone’s expressions changed.

Bang!

Another impact followed and the grave shook.

Cracks spread across its golden surface.

The children instinctively stepped backward.

Then a pale hand burst through the grave.

Crunch!

Fragments of gold scattered everywhere and a creepy laugh echoed through the area.

"Kehehehehe..."

Paul’s face instantly turned white.

"KYAAAAAAA—!" The poor boy nearly ascended on the spot.

Then the grave exploded apart as slowly, a woman emerged from within.

She was beautiful, unnaturally so.

A white wedding dress covered her body.

However, blood stained portions of the dress.

Her eyes were concealed beneath a cloth, yet somehow everyone felt as though she was looking directly at them.

A chilling smile stretched across her face revealing countless sharp teeth.

The woman tilted her head as her gaze moved toward the fallen red crystal then toward Skyler.

The smile became even more horrifying.

"My husband..." She giggled.

"The husband who awakened me."

The atmosphere froze.

The woman clasped her hands together happily.

"We can finally get married."

Skyler’s soul nearly left his body.

"NOOOOO! MOMMY! I’M SCARED!"

Without a shred of dignity, the Saint of the Summoning Goddess turned around and ran.

The others watched him sprint away at full speed.

"..."

***

The Ghost Bride watched as her groom turned around and fled without hesitation.

The smile on her face slowly disappeared and a cold chilling expression replaced it.

"Why are you running away...?" she asked softly.

Unfortunately, Skyler was already too far away to hear her.

Behind him, Paul and Voomie, who had freed herself from Caelum’s gasp were also running for their lives, while Ryan chased after them to make sure they didn’t get lost somewhere.

KEEEEEHHHHHH—!

The Ghost Bride released a devastating screech as every crystal near the grave exploded at once.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

Countless crystal fragments filled the air before rapidly reshaping into sharp needles.

The Ghost Bride pointed toward the fleeing Skyler.

"YOU HAVE TO MARRY ME!"

The crystal needles immediately shot toward him. Bonjour and Sénior reacted instantly.

Arder erupted from their bodies as they moved to intercept the attack.

Bonjour smashed apart large groups of needles with his fists while Sénior used defensive spells to divert the rest.

Meanwhile, Jojo made his move.

His body curled into a sphere as black-and-white energy wrapped around him.

Spinning at tremendous speed, he shot toward the Ghost Bride like a cannonball.

However, just before reaching her, a mirror suddenly appeared in front of her as Jojo crashed into it and vanished.

Far away, Skyler was still running for his life.

Then another mirror appeared directly in front of him.

The Ghost Bride’s face appeared within its reflection.

Her smile looked even creepier than before.

"KYYAAAAAHHHH!" Skyler screamed in terror.

Boom!

Jojo suddenly shot out of the mirror.

Unable to stop himself, he crashed directly into Skyler.

The two rolled across the ground several times before finally stopping.

Meanwhile, more mirrors slowly began appearing around the Ghost Bride.

And every reflection showed the same smiling face staring at her runaway groom.
