Chapter 109: Drifting Dimension [Magic Castle Bonus]

Nine minutes and nine seconds earlier...

An E-Boy, a bird with brilliant red feathers and an exceptionally proud expression, sat near the shore of the lake drinking water.

Although it was absentmindedly observing the commotion taking place in the middle of the lake, where a group of children were making an unreasonable amount of noise, it paid little attention to them.

Then a strange fluctuation had erupted from the fat dog floating in the water.

The E-Boy glanced in that direction for a brief moment.

Finding nothing worth investigating, it lowered its head and continued drinking.

Unfortunately, its fate was about to worsen with every passing minute.

A snake suddenly lunged from behind.

The attack was swift and silent, perfectly timed to strike while the bird’s attention was elsewhere.

Unfortunately for the snake, the E-Boy was faster.

With a sharp screech, it leaped aside before slashing downward with its claws.

The snake was torn apart instantly.

Blood splattered across the grass.

The E-Boy’s crimson eyes glowed menacingly. For a moment, it looked as though lasers might shoot out of them.

Then it proudly snorted.

The defeated snake wasn’t even worthy of another glance.

Turning around, it resumed drinking water.

Three steps later, disaster struck again.

A blue slime suddenly launched itself from the lake and attached itself directly to the E-Boy’s face.

The bird immediately began suffocating.

Enraged, its feathers erupted with red fire energy.

The heat caught the surroundings.

A moment later, the slime was dead, leaving only a small core behind.

The E-Boy emerged victorious once more.

Yet its expression only worsened.

As an E-Boy, it naturally disliked water.

Unless the water came from an E-Girl.

That was entirely different scenario.

The bird shook itself violently before preparing to leave.

This lake was clearly cursed.

Then a thick fog suddenly spread across the area as its vision rapidly shortened.

The E-Boy finally realized that something was strange.

It had already encountered a snake and a slime in the span of a few minutes.

That wasn’t normal.

Deciding that finding another water source would be wiser, it spread its wings.

Then it froze.

Not because of danger, but because of beauty.

Standing a short distance away was a beautiful blue-feathered bird.

Elegant, graceful and perfect.

It was an E-Girl.

The E-Boy’s heart nearly stopped.

As a proud and domineering E-Boy, it immediately decided that this E-Girl would accompany him back to his nest.

There was no need to think further.

Love had arrived.

The E-Boy straightened its posture.

Then it released a series of powerful crackling cries intended to draw the E-Girl’s full attention.

Afterward, it carefully removed the finest feather from its body.

Holding it within its beak, it poured fierce red energy into it.

Soon it transformed into a glowing crimson plume that illuminated the surrounding fog.

This was the traditional courtship ritual of their species.

If the E-Girl accepted the feather, it meant she accepted him.

The proud E-Boy had absolute confidence.

Rejection? Impossible.

The probability was zero.

Even mathematics itself would fail to prove otherwise.

And as expected, the E-Girl approached.

The E-Boy puffed out its chest proudly.

Victory was already assured.

The distance between them gradually closed.

Then their beaks touched.

The moment contact was made, the E-Boy froze.

A strange energy entered its body.

Its vision blurred and consciousness rapidly faded.

’Not bad...’ That was the final thought the E-Boy had, before losing consciousness.

The next moment, the E-Girl dissolved into smoke.

The surrounding fog vanished as well.

When the E-Boy opened its eyes again, something had changed.

Its once crimson eyes now carried faint traces of green.

Without hesitation, it spread its wings and flew into the sky.

Then it abruptly changed direction as though obeying an invisible command.

It descended toward the lake and with a soft plop, it entered the water.

A small green shield appeared around its body, allowing it to move beneath the surface despite its obvious dislike of swimming.

Eventually, it arrived at the deepest part of the lake.

A location no one had ever discovered.

The moment it reached the bottom, something happened.

A hidden barrier disappeared.

What had once been concealed was finally revealed.

A black stone.

A nonagonal stone darker than night itself.

Ancient blood-red characters were carved across its surface.

The moment the barrier vanished, the stone trembled releasing a strange pulse.

The entire lake seemed to respond.

The blood-red symbols began glowing.

A moment later, projections appeared around the stone.

Caelum, Paul, Skyler, Ryan, Bonjour, Sénior, Jojo, Voomie and finally the E-Boy.

The stone continued trembling.

Then the blood-red symbols shone brighter than before.

A dark portal suddenly opened above it.

The surrounding water immediately became violent.

Currents erupted throughout the lake.

The peaceful surface instantly transformed into a whirlpool.

"What is happening?!" Paul shouted.

The children finally noticed something was wrong.

The lake was spinning.

A terrifying suction force emerged from the portal.

Everyone was pulled toward its center.

Water exploded everywhere.

The children attempted to resist.

Caelum tried to freeze the entire lake with his [Freezing Touch] but he was unable to freeze the water, even though he had reached the realm of Perfection in this technique.

It was as if the water was controlled by someone stronger than him

Bonjour grabbed Ryan and Skyler.

Paul desperately tried to swim away, but he was just moving in the same direction as Sénior caught him.

Even Voomie began barking in panic.

Unfortunately, it was useless.

The force continued increasing.

One by one, they were dragged toward the portal.

There was simply no escape.

Only Jojo seemed to recognize what was happening.

The panda’s expression changed drastically.

For the first time since arriving on the Earthly Plane, genuine panic appeared on his face.

His fur nearly stood upright.

"A drifting dimension?! Shit...!"

Before anyone could ask what that meant, the portal swallowed them.

One after another, everyone disappeared into the darkness.

Though the portal remained, the black stone fell silent.

And the lake returned to complete stillness as water filled it again.

As though nothing had ever happened.
