Chapter 149: 2.29 The Vampire Settlement (2)
Sasha kissed Levi and gave him a large hug. "Sorry if I worried you. Just needed some air is all."
"You have nothing to be sorry for. I know you hate attention so I’ve been trying to talk to as many people as I can but there are so many new vampires! I’m glad little Iris is stealing the slow," Levi admitted as he wrapped his arm around Sasha and watched Lucious pick up his little girl.
"Why hello beautiful, who’s a good girl?!" Lucious said excitedly.
Sera rushed and hugged Lucious.
Lucious and Sera became accustomed to the baby talk they heard everyone using while Xander was growing up, so it came naturally for them.
"Can you show mama and dada how to use your widdle shadows?" Sera said while looking Iris in her beautiful black and blue eyes.
Iris’ face went from giggling and laughing to serious as she tried to control them, but she cried and they faded away.
"It’s ok sweetie pie, dada wuvs you. Don’t cwy you’re cuter when you smile," Lucious said while gently tickling her belly. Iris started giggling again but no shadows appeared.
"You’re such a smart widdle girl. When did your eyes turn black like mama’s? You were born with white and blue eyes now they’re black and blue. They’re the most beautiful eyes I’ve ever seen." Sera whispered while kissing Iris on the forehead. Little black shadows formed from Iris’ arms, hugging her mom.
"Did you just hug mama? You’re only two days old, how can you already hug mama?!" Lucious said gleefully as he smiled at his daughter, who used her shadows to hug him.
"Aw, here’s one from dada and mama," Lucious said as he let out small shadows that gently wrapped around Iris’ like a blanket. She smiled before she fell fast asleep in her father’s arms.
"Well, it seems the Moonveil genes will move on to our oldest’s first child. That’s certainly a surprise and a blessing," Magus said as he hugged Sera.
"Her eyes changed right before she used our family ability," Morgana said enthusiastically. "I was singing to her and she continued to laugh until little shadows formed from her arms, then her eyes changed!"
Sera’s mother, Jessica, made her way through the crowd and eventually stopped and hugged her daughter.
"I wonder if she’ll develop a demon art" She asked joyfully. "After all, when a demon’s eyes awaken, that’s usually a sign their body accepted their demon art. Yours didn’t awaken until you were nearly 4. Some go their entire lives without developing a demon art, while others, like Julius, were born with demon eyes."
The Moonveils smiled. They knew their grandchild was special, but to hear it also accepted a demon art was music to their ears.
"She’ll let us know when she’s ready. I’m glad she got the shadow though. The more she’s blessed with, the better off she will be. Look at Xander." Sera said excitedly.

"How are you all holding up?" Dorian asked. "What’s life like without the Lockhearts?"
The entire engagement party turned their attention to the five party members at the event.
"Sora, Brie, and Sasha and I have been living together for five years now. We were just fine when they were on their honeymoon. I’m sure we can make 16 days without burning down the place," Levi joked.
"Had it not been that family and Celeste, we wouldn’t be celebrating our beautiful child, so I’d like to think they’re enjoying their time as a family away from all the duties and responsibilities of the prophecy, leading a party and that whole King and Queen stuff they do," Lucious said while rocking Iris slowly.
Sera and Sasha hugged each other while Jax spoke.
"I’m guessing they’re missing us a lot more than we’re missing them at this point," Jax said with a slight frown. "I can’t imagine being away from my friends and family for 16 years while they only live 16 days."
Tears flowed from Sasha’s eyes and Sera wiped them off her face.
"You hate attention but everyone’s looking at you now goofball," Sera laughed while wiping Sasha’s tears away.
Levi squeezed Sasha’s hand after grabbing it. She squeezed his hand back and spoke.
"I’m just worried they’ll come back and we won’t have any time to spend it together." Sasha admitted to the large group.
"I’m sure Azazel, Helen and Eris won’t make their homecoming easy and I hope Lucious and Sera don’t get involved with this mess. They have Iris to worry about. We can handle it ourselves." Sasha said, forcing herself to smile.
"Well I don’t want my daughter crying at her own party." Soren boasted.
"Why don’t we all pray to Selene? We should give thanks and ask her to watch over little Iris?" he suggested.
"I’ll lead it!" Sera said enthusiastically. "I’m sure the goddess would love to hear from a demon about how thankful they are for a vampire!"
Dorian’s face lit up and he spoke loudly, "Indeed! I think our great creator would love nothing more than to hear from Sera about the miracle she gave birth too."
Camilla gathered everyone in a circle and everyone joined hands. They surrounded Sera and Lucious, who still held the sleeping Iris in his shadow blanket."
"To the great goddess Selene, we thank you all for the blessings you give us and I’m sorry my race has caused so many problems on Exteria. Our little Iris wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t thanks to you, and Celeste, and the Lockhearts, so we show our gratitude by appreciating every day we have on this beautiful planet. Thank you for creating the vampires and thank you for putting Lucious in my life. Without Sasha’s courage to break off their arranged marriage, we wouldn’t be celebrating another first, an Uthra and a Vampire’s engagement. Please look after the Lockheart’s while they’re in Paradise with you. Athena, for your honor."
Everyone repeated, "Athena, for your honor," and Soren and Lyra teared up.
"That was perfect Sera," Camilla boasted while starting a round of applause. Sera blushed but bowed, thanking everyone.
"Well everyone, thank you for coming to visit us this evening. It’s getting late. Tomorrow is a big day as we will bless another Original vampire into our fine families."

Sera and Lucious both took a deep breath and smiled, while staring down at their beautiful newborn.
"Who do you think Paradise will send to bless her as a newborn Vampire?" Levi asked Sasha.
"Selene, who else could it be?" Sasha asked as she looked into Levi’s eyes.
Levi returned the stare and admired Sasha’s beautiful pink eyes.
"I don’t know, I was kind of hoping maybe Sora or Brie. That would be pretty cool if they could give a formal blessing on Athena’s behalf." Levi said, standing deep in thought.
Sasha kissed him and they returned to their room. After they spent some time fooling around together, Levi fell asleep and Sasha laid in bed, staring at the ceiling.
"Brie, I miss you. I really hope you, Sora and Xander are all doing well. I can’t imagine what it’s like for you to spend this much time away from us and I’m sure there’s so many things going on up there. I wish there was a way to help you out. Miss you girl, I love you. Athena, for your honor."
Sasha finally drifted off to sleep and dreamed of her and Levi’s first child. A boy with pink eyes stared up at her smiling. Levi looked happy and relieved that everything went smoothly. Then came the nightmare that weighed so heavily on her mind: Sora, Brie and Xander returned only to immediately face an attack from Helen, Azazel, and Eris. She began shaking violently and Levi woke up.
"Sasha! Are you ok!? Wake up babe!" Levi shouted while feeling her forehead.
Brie frowned at the nightmare and created a calm, white space, with furniture like the living area at their mansion.
"Hey bestie! I heard your prayer. I love and miss you too! Let’s catch up!" Brie said with a huge smile.
