Chapter 148: 2.28 The Vampire Settlement (1)
At the settlement, Jax immediately went to see his family at the Blackmore castle and Lucious, Sera and Iris went to visit the Moonveil family. Sera was surprised they welcomed her mother so openly. Everyone was so excited to see the newborn child.
Sasha and Levi announced their engagement formally to the Originals and everyone welcomed Levi with open arms.
"Didn’t I tell you Sasha would end up with Levi, Camilla?" Dorian boasted in his usual manner.
"We already knew this my darling, but yes, my 2500 old husband, quite the detective." Camilla responded with her normal response.
Dorian seemed to have a niche for always figuring things out before they actually happened. Before Levi set foot in the settlement, before the first war with the titans, Dorian told Camilla he would be Sasha’s husband one day.
Dorian called for an engagement party the next evening.
Around 6 PM, Levi and Sasha welcomed guests from every household to their new section of the Valencia castle. Soren and Lyra decided to create a new hallway in hopes they’d have an heir from an Uthra and their daughter one day.
"You do realize you have plenty of biological great-great-great-grandchildren you could choose from to become an Heir, dad," Sasha whined. "Why do you want us to have a child so badly?"
"Because if I had not found you, I wouldn’t have a daughter celebrating an engagement with an Uthra, would I?" Soren said as he gave Sasha a large hug and kiss on the cheek. He quietly spoke into Sasha’s ear.
"Just because you’re not born of Lyra doesn’t mean I don’t see you as one of my children. Sometimes this settlement needs a little spark. You’re nothing like your brothers and sisters."
Sasha smiled and whispered back, "Thanks dad. I love you."
Soren and Sasha welcomed Lucious, Sera and Iris to the gathering. Iris stayed quiet and cried once in a while, but everyone was glad she was healthy.
"You never know with these things, I’m just glad our son chose such a deserving wife after losing out on Miss Valencia," Lucious Mother, Morgana said cheerfully. "Magus, would you be a dear and grab us a drink. I want to hold our granddaughter."
Sera gently handed Morgana Iris. She slowly picked her up and started singing a sweet lullaby, lost in the little one’s smiling eyes.
"Is that a vampire lullaby? It’s beautiful," Sera smiled.
"It is! If she doesn’t respond, it’s because she’s been waiting for Lucious to have a child for a long time. He’s our oldest and Iris represents our next Vampire Queen, if you don’t mind of course," Magus said before turning to grab the drinks.
"Would you like some help?" Sera asked politely. "I’d love to know more about your family!"
"Don’t you mean our family, my love?" Magus said with a smile as he grabbed Sera’s hand.
Lucious smiled at Sera and her parents. He didn’t want to interrupt and he noticed Sasha sitting alone.

Sasha sat in a lounge chair with a glass of blood-wine and smiled while watching Levi entertaining her parents’ guests.
Levi was talking to her Mother again, who seemed to always find her way back to him whenever he was alone.
’My parents’ really do love this guy. I’m glad everyone was so understanding when I broke things off with Lucious.’ she thought and noticed him headed her way.
"Hey Lucious, how are you?" Sasha stood as she spoke. "Want to get some air?"
"Doing well and that’d be nice. How about you? This is your party after all!"
"Funny. Seems more like the Levi show to me, but that’s ok. We all know I don’t like attention." Sasha joked as the two snuck out to the Valencia courtyard.
"It’s funny, really. We were arranged for marriage yet we return with the first child of its kind and you are marrying an Uthra. Things were much simpler back then," Lucious said as he took a drink from his bloodwine.
Sasha laughed. "You can say that again. The time stop didn’t affect the rest of the Universe yet here on Exteria, we all missed a year and four months without losing a second of our lives. 5 years ago, Brie and I were clearing dungeons with fake names just so I could get out of the Settlement and so she didn’t have to go to the next level Academy."
"You two were always inseparable. What’s it been like... I know it’s only been one night and two days, but still..." Lucious said while he looked into the sky. "I miss Xander. That kid was fun, hilarious and had no filter."
"Kind of like his dad when we first met him. My goodness that guy was clueless. Funny how time changes people, isn’t it?" Sasha said while looking towards Paradise.
"I miss her already. Sora and Xander too, but I wonder how much has changed for them. When we go to sleep tonight, it’ll be around 2 years for them. Xander will turn four..." Sasha trailed off.
"Four already?! Wow. Yeah, you’re right, time moves completely differently there. I hope they don’t change too much."

"Mama! Dada! Auntie Sasha and Uncle Lucious are talking about us! I heard our names and can hear what they’re saying." Xander exclaimed while they were sitting down for breakfast.
"I heard it too sweetie. I miss my bestie and I’m sure Levi misses you Sora."
"Well little buddy looks like you’ve made quite the impression on our extended family. Lucious said he misses you."
"What does it mean to have no filter?" Xander asked, confused.
Sora and Brie laughed. Xander still had a lot to learn.
’I really miss you too Sasha. I hope you know that. Lucious is right, two years is a lot different than 2 days.’ Brie thought as she enjoyed breakfast with her family.

"Anyone see where my lovely fiancee wandered off too?" Levi asked Magus and Sera, who had returned to Morgana with drinks.
"I believe her and Lucious took a walk out to the courtyard," Morgana said while not moving her eyes from her granddaughter. "You have your daddy’s eyes but your Mother’s hair. You’ll cause all sorts of trouble for your parents because you are beautiful." Morgana said, kissing Iris on the forehead, causing her to giggle.
Little shadows started appearing from Iris’ hands, causing everyone in the room to turn in awe.
"Magus! She has it! She has our family ability. Bless the gods. Thank you so much Selene!" Morgana cried with happiness.
Magus rushed over and saw the little shadows dancing around her arms as Iris smiled and giggled.
Lucious and Sasha sprinted into the room.
"There you are! Everything ok, you two?" Levi asked while walking over and kissing Sasha on the cheek.
"I told you everything was fine Lucious," Sasha smiled as she nudged him gently across the shoulder.
"Well can you blame me for freaking out? I sensed a new shadow appeared!" Lucious yelled.
