Chapter 16: Registration

Aurora guided them inside the guild. On the first floor, where they were right now, was the recruitment floor.

Anyone who wishes to join the guild must fill out the form with their pIDper id and their hunter rank.

"Let’s go and fill out your form for now. You are a hunter from today, Eleanor."

She walked towards the receptionist, who immediately greeted her with a deep bow of her head.

"Guild master."

There were no questions about it; everyone in the guild deeply respected and admired Aurora.

"How are you, Rachel? I would like for you to guide her to fill out the form."

Eleanor walked beside Aurora and politely nodded her head.

"Hello, Miss Hunter. May I have your name, identification badge and your rank?" Rachel went ahead with her process as she usually does.

"Umm, there is a slight change. Just register her in our guild for now. No need to publish her information or her rank. Classify her information as confidential."

The information about every hunter that joins a guild is always public. Anyone can look at their rank, their affinity and their skills that are registered in the guild, albeit there are a few exceptions if the guild wishes to hide their information.

They usually do that for highly ranked hunters, and mostly S-rank hunters, so as not to disclose their full power.

It was the first move by Aurora to hide information about Eleanor from the government.

Well, even if they did come barging into the guild, she is more than enough to handle them; still, it was the least bit of respect she could show them.

"We cannot restrict the information of too many hunters, only about 7. It was a good thing that we had an empty spot." Aurora explained while looking at Eleanor.

She then placed her hand on her head and continued, "So work hard and don’t make me regret this."

The number of slots for the information restrictions wasn’t placed by the government or the guild, but it is a system that was related to the tower.

Every guild that has ever been formed are all recorded inside the tower.

Once you reach floor 20, you get the opportunity to form the guild. It doesn’t matter if you are already a part of it; if you want to, you can form a guild.

Once you do, you will be appointed as the guild master by the tower, and you will hold a special authority. However, till now, it’s unknown what that is.

The tower publicly shows the level and skills of anyone who joins the guild after that. The guild only has permission to hide 7 hunters’ skills from their database.

You can’t change those 7 hunters after that until they die, and their slots are empty.

Rachel did not ask further and did as she was told. Eleanor stayed with her to complete the registration, while Aurora and Ethan moved to the next floor.

"I will take Eleanor later to the tower to fully complete her registration. You are not nervous, are you?" She asked with the intention to tease him a little.

"For her? Absolutely not. She is tougher than she looks. I am sure you will be surprised instead."

"Is that so? I would like that too. I have to say, you do not seem like a young boy who has just taken his awakening test."

"I did not get the awakening, though."

"As if. Whom are you trying to fool? I have seen many things inside the tower that defy common sense. There are thousands, maybe millions, who are far stronger than me. Looking at that, it seems laughable when they call me the strongest." Aurora chuckled softly, trying to make it seem as if it was amusing.

However, it did not work on Ethan at all. Hw didn’t speak for a moment and then answered, "That’s not true. They can be killed, too. No matter how terrifying they might seem right now, I am sure you will become stronger than them."

"Do you know? Maybe in future."

"I have seen you all. Among all the guild leaders and Eleanor. Eleanor holds the most mana, but you do not lack in comparison to her at all. So don’t give up, soon there will be people who will stand alongside you. You don’t need to shoulder the responsibility of everyone alone."

He, who was once all alone, fighting without stop, slaying countless monsters even though he felt like dying, understood her pain too well.

Having to carry all the hope and burden isn’t pleasant at all.

Aurora suddenly stopped and turned around. There were many emotions flickering in her eyes, but she did not let them out, still bearing that same smile, she asked,

"You believe that?"

"I do." He nodded slightly.

Her smile disappeared for a while, but after a long time, she showed her genuine emotions to someone else.

She forwarded her hand and patted Ethan’s head, ruffling his hair.

"What are you doing?" He slapped her hand away in annoyance.

To which Aurora chuckled genuinely and responded,

"Nothing. You just... remind me of someone."

She turned around again while saying, "Well, don’t think too much about that. You are still a child, so grow first; there’s no need to think about standing shoulder to shoulder with me. You are too weak for that. Let’s go and pick some swords for you first."

She began to go ahead without turning back, but for some unknown reason, Ethan felt that something had changed with her.

As if she were more relaxed now.
