Chapter 13: Vision and Curiosity

She carefully watched their reactions and sighed after concluding.

"Forget it. It’s probably nothing."

’Could it be just my imagination? They said he didn’t awaken any mana pool, so what was that?’

"Is that so?" Aurora didn’t quite believe her, but she didn’t push it further either.

"So, who is going to do it? We are all here for this." Aurora asked.

They were here for the same thing, and they had to get it done sooner, too.

"I don’t mind seeing him to his death. As for the girl... I can help her get stronger." Magnus spoke first.

More than taking Eleanor into his guild, he was happy to send Ethan to the Abyss.

"You are not fit to do that, you monkey." Lucian sighed deeply, shaking his head.

As soon as he finished saying that, a strong and fast punch came flying his way, directed at his face...

"What did you say? What are you even good at besides cooking some meat?"

But his punch was stopped mid-air by a barrier. Seraphina stopped him without moving from her position.

"Will you guys stop for once?" Clearly, this wasn’t the first time these two have gone at each other like this. She was well aware of this and prepared in advance.

"Thank you, dear. You are much easier to talk to than this brute." Lucian spoke with a wide smile on his face.

"Let’s not fight over this right now. Eleanor is essential for us all. We all know what truly lies inside the tower. Let’s not be irrational." Seraphina spoke softly.

These 6 were the ones who had made it the furthest inside the tower and knew what it truly is.

The one thing they all realised was that if you are alone in there? You won’t survive.

"Why are you so afraid, dear? They are at the top only because they have been there for centuries; sooner or later, I will catch up to them." Aurora reassured her calmly.

"May I say something?" Nyra, who has been silent for so long, finally spoke.

After a second of pause, she continued, "I am an assassin, she has the affinity of ice and wind, I cannot teach her. Having dual affinity means she has an extremely large mana pool, so it’s more of a reason why I can’t teach her."

She then looked at Magnus and spoke, "You only have brute strength, so you can’t do it either."

Her head then turned to Seraphina, "You can do it, but not to the fullest. You can’t teach her attacks."

"You too, Lucian. You cannot make her reach her full potential. That leaves only 2; however, even among you two, I doubt Adrian can do it. He is more focused on the sword. That leaves Aurora alone. You are fit to do that. You have fire, and she has ice; the properties are different, but the use of them is fairly similar. That will be all."

She went quiet again.

"That’s one way to say all of us are trash, Nyra." Lucian laughed wryly.

"But are you all fine with that?" Aurora asked, even though she could take Eleanor away without caring about others, she still did.

"I am fine," Lucian spoke.

"For once, I agree with him." Magnus joined in.

"I have nothing as well," Seraphina added.

"Adrian?" Seraphina asked.

Adrian did not speak for a moment and finally opened his mouth,

"If you guys really believe in that vision, then I have nothing to say as well. I was only here to check how much potential the one from that vision will have. She does meet the expectations, but rather than believing in the vision of the woman who is about to die and has already gone senile, I will believe in my sword. You can do as you please."

"It’s settled then. She will join my guild. I will make sure to train her well." Aurora swore.

As she was about to call Ethan and Eleanor out, Nyra tried to say something again.

"Um... can I say something again?"

"Are you going to insult us again?"

"You can, Nyra."

She looked around for a while, then finally said what she was trying to,

"Uh... that boy, Ethan... Will it be fine if I make him join my guild?"

"Oh? You are interested in something, Nyra? How amazing." Lucian spoke, actually amazed, as this was the first time she had shown interest in something other than killing.

"Don’t try, Nyra. He already denied joining any guild. But may I ask why?" Aurora asked, even though she was interested.

"It’s nothing." Her voice went really low, almost a whisper at that point.

"For fuck’s sake, why are you all making so much mystery around that brat?" Magnus exploded, seeing that no one was explaining anything about Ethan.

"Calm down, Magnus. We all got few things or secrets we don’t wanna talk about, like one of us got second ultimate skill. You must have something too, right? So let her do it."

Nyra immediately defended herself and said,

"No, it’s not like that. It’s just... when I saw him, I tried to attack him to see if he really sensed me. I killed him in every scenario, but that was because he was too weak. However, he was ready to counter every move I used against him. In terms of skill alone, I couldn’t kill him."
