Chapter 525: Chapter 525

’I can’t get to Nina Summers while she’s hiding in the Summers Villa,’ Zara Walsh thought, ’but crushing Caleb Summers and his family in their low-income housing will be a piece of cake!’

’That old neighborhood is crowded and chaotic, and disturbances are frequent. Even the police can’t handle it. All I have to do is hire a few refugees to stir up trouble, get rid of them without anyone noticing, and it’ll never be traced back to me!’

Zara Walsh unhurriedly pulled out a tissue, crossed her legs, and wiped the tip of her high-heeled shoe. She spoke slowly, "I recall your son is only two this year... It’s not easy to have a child so late in life. Don’t let your precious son lose his life because of you!"

Hearing this, Caleb Summers ignored the stinging pain in his cheek. He scrambled to his feet and said in terror, "Miss Walsh, don’t worry! I’ll definitely have your ring back to you before tomorrow night!"

After Caleb Summers scrambled away, Zara Walsh clapped her hands and called out, "Mrs. Archer, bring her out."

A moment later, the door to the adjacent maid’s room opened, and two maids came out, hauling a frail girl who was covered in blood.

The two maids dragged the girl in front of Zara Walsh and threw her down at her feet like a discarded rag doll.

"Ugh..." The girl collapsed, and the impact with the floor jarred the wounds all over her body, causing her to let out an uncontrollable groan.

But before she could even catch her breath, she felt a sharp tug on her scalp—

Zara Walsh had grabbed her hair, forcing her to look up.

Staring at Joelle Lawson’s blood-streaked face, Zara Walsh roared, "You little bitch! This is all your fault for that rotten idea! If it weren’t for you, how could things have ended up like this?!"

"Didn’t you say Melody Summers and Nina Summers had a terrible relationship?! Didn’t you say Nina Summers almost forced Melody into prostitution?! Didn’t you say Nina was desperate for a father’s love?! Didn’t you say Nina desperately wanted her father’s approval?!"

"If it weren’t for all your lies, I never would have lost a Pink Diamond Ring! It’s all your fault, you bitch! I’ll kill you!"

With every sentence, Zara Walsh viciously kicked Joelle Lawson, looking as if she intended to beat her to death.

Ever since the plan to frame them had failed, Joelle Lawson had been tortured by Zara Walsh for days. She hadn’t had any food or water in that time and had no strength left. She couldn’t even dodge, only managing to raise her arms to feebly protect her head.

’She had no idea why things had turned out this way!’

’Melody Summers and Nina Summers weren’t even related by blood! And Nina had lured Melody to The Crestview Hotel! Not to mention, Nina had looked so dejected when she’d mentioned her father...’

’So why would Nina Summers do this?!’

’Joelle Lawson could rack her brain and still not figure it out!’

The thin stiletto heel was like a nail, digging cruelly into Joelle Lawson’s flesh with every one of Zara Walsh’s kicks. Soon, Joelle was barely breathing.

Just then, Autumn Sawyer, who had been standing to the side, stepped forward with a smile to stop Zara Walsh. She gently coaxed, "Miss Walsh, why lower yourself to this bitch’s level? It would be a problem if you actually killed her!"

Zara Walsh snorted coldly and said with disdain, "So what? Her life is worthless. It’s no big deal if she dies."

Zara Walsh was filled with a rage that desperately needed an outlet. She couldn’t touch Nina Summers and Melody Summers, so was she supposed to let Joelle Lawson off the hook, too?

’Joelle Lawson had no one, just a mother living in a refugee camp. If I kill Joelle now and then have her mother killed, it’s perfectly normal for two helpless women to die in these chaotic times. No one would ever investigate!’

Seeing the rage on Zara Walsh’s face, Autumn Sawyer suddenly smiled. "In that case... why don’t you hand her over to me?" she said softly. "I’ll deal with her. That way, you won’t have to look at this eyesore anymore!"

Autumn Sawyer had previously been with Mr. Kent, the man who ran the crematorium. But after Mr. Kent was arrested, she suddenly had nowhere to go.

Seeing as she was a fairly famous actress, Kylie Walsh introduced her to her cousin, Brandon Walsh, who had just been transferred to Anworth City.

Brandon Walsh had seen Autumn Sawyer’s films and was very interested in her. One thing led to another, and they got together, with Autumn becoming Brandon’s mistress.

On the surface, Brandon Walsh was the upstanding deputy chief of the city police, but in reality, he also ran several entertainment venues that offered more than a few illicit services.

Autumn Sawyer’s motive for offering to take Joelle Lawson was obvious.

Zara Walsh understood what Autumn Sawyer was implying. She scoffed, her face full of contempt. "I bet you don’t know, but this little bitch used to be a prostitute at a brothel run by the Adler Family! If you take her back with you, you’re just letting her off easy, giving her a chance to go back to her old profession!"

Although Zara Walsh said this, she didn’t stop Autumn Sawyer from taking the girl away.

Zara Walsh knew how ruthless her cousin was. Once Joelle Lawson entered one of his entertainment venues, she would likely never make it out alive.

This was exactly the outcome Zara Walsh wanted—Joelle Lawson knew too much, and Zara couldn’t let her leave alive.

If Joelle died in the villa, it could cause unnecessary complications. Autumn Sawyer taking her away was actually a good thing for Zara.

The next morning, as Nina Summers was picking out clothes for her interview the following day, Caleb Summers and Zoe Kane showed up again, much to her surprise.

"Mom! Grace! Nina! We’re here, open the door!"

"Mom, we know we were wrong! We came here specifically to apologize! Please, just open the door!"

Hearing the voices of Caleb Summers and Zoe Kane through the intercom, the grandmother instinctively recalled the couple’s previous actions.

When she remembered how they had tried to seize the family property and force Nina to marry, fury surged within her. She slapped her thigh and exclaimed, "What a disgrace! What are those two doing here again? They’re definitely here to cause trouble!"

"Call the police! Hurry, call the police! Dial 911! Get the police to drive them away!"

Seeing her grandmother so upset, Melody Summers quickly went to comfort her. "Grandma, please calm down. It’s not worth getting angry over them."

Then she turned to Grace Sutton and said, "Aunt Grace, why don’t you take Grandma and Miss Lowell upstairs to rest? I’ll deal with Caleb Summers and his wife."

Grace Sutton was hesitant, but Melody Summers insisted they go upstairs, so she could only lead the two older women to their rooms, leaving just Melody and Nina Summers in the living room.

Melody Summers knew exactly why Caleb Summers was here today—

She had seen Caleb Summers coming out of Zara Walsh’s house next door yesterday. Combining that with the news that had spread all over the internet about Caleb being fired over the "courseware" incident, it only took Melody a moment of thought to put all the pieces together.

’Nina Summers’s previous goading must have worked, and Zara Walsh had taught Caleb Summers a harsh lesson.’

’After asking around, Caleb found out Zara was the one pulling the strings, but he didn’t know how he had offended her, so he went to her house yesterday to find out why.’

’Since Caleb had already gone to Zara, they probably both knew by now that Nina was the one behind the whole thing.’

’Caleb’s visit today was definitely to help Zara get that Pink Diamond Ring back.’
