Chapter 349: Chapter 325: The Shameless Rianne Thorne

Right now, Flora Bloom felt like she’d just stubbed her toe on a rock or had her umbrella suddenly tear in the middle of a downpour. The word ’annoyed’ didn’t even begin to cover it.

’Is this Keaton Thorne out of his mind?’

The voice on the broadcast had pinpointed her exact location. Even if she moved now, she was already exposed, right under the noses of every other pregnant woman on the first floor.

"I’ve heard you once escaped from a horde of several hundred zombies completely unscathed. I wonder, would you be able to kill the zombies on the second floor and protect these pregnant women so they can evacuate safely?"

Flora Bloom had a million "fuck yous" on the tip of her tongue. ’They want me to eliminate the zombie mothers and babies upstairs to protect the pregnant women downstairs during their escape?’

’Why should I?’

"Did you get the wrong person? I’m just a pregnant woman; I can barely protect myself. Kill zombies? You’re giving me way too much credit."

Upon hearing Flora Bloom’s words, the pregnant women who had been looking at her with hope immediately averted their gazes, their spirits crushed. One of them, a beautiful young woman about seven or eight months along, suddenly burst into tears, wailing, "Is anyone going to save me and my baby!"

"Dad, you can’t just abandon me!"

"Brother-in-law, Sis, you have to save me!"

Flora Bloom looked over at the three pregnant women wailing most pitifully at the broadcast speaker. Although they were dressed in loose, simple maternity clothes and were far from clean, all three shared a common trait: delicate, tender skin and striking features.

People like that were nothing like common folk. It was their aura, for one, and then their skin, which was so flawless you could barely see their pores. Looking at the one who had cried out for her dad, Flora Bloom suspected, ’These women must be related to or have some special connection with the base’s leaders!’

"Quiet, quiet down! Everyone, please listen to me!" The voice on the broadcast had changed; a different person was now speaking.

"To the young woman named Flora Bloom, I am the director of this base. My name is Titan Adler."

’His surname is Adler?’

"Oh, you know of me?"

Flora Bloom had only muttered quietly to herself, but the man on the other end heard her clearly. ’Looks like the audio equipment here is pretty good,’ she thought.

"I don’t."

On the other end of the broadcast, Titan Adler was taken aback by Flora Bloom’s hostile reply. He adjusted his tone and continued, "I know it’s presumptuous of me to suddenly ask you to help these strangers evacuate. However, according to my information, you’re the only person here with the ability to help them.

You are all mothers-to-be. I’m sure you can understand a mother’s desire to survive and protect the child in her womb, can’t you?"

Titan Adler’s emotional appeal made Flora Bloom pause for a moment.

In the conference room, the group watching the video feed saw Flora Bloom freeze. Her expression was blank, as if she was deep in thought. ’There’s a chance!’ they thought.

’This must be Lex Cross’s bastard father from Earth, right?’

’She remembered Lex Cross telling her the story behind this body. He’d been murdered by his own biological father and his stepmother.’

’A father like that had the gall to talk to her about the feelings of a mother?’

Her expression suddenly turned serious. "What do you want me to do?"

On the other end of the broadcast, Titan Adler breathed a sigh of relief. His voice boomed through the microphone with renewed energy, "Alright, here’s the plan. All pregnant women, line up by the stone door. Rianne Thorne, Melissa Joyce, and Cecilia Lyon, you three will be at the front to lead the group. Everyone, stay calm and proceed one at a time.

Then, Flora Bloom, you’ll cover the rear. Given your reported abilities, even if the zombies break through the defenses behind you, dealing with them shouldn’t pose much of a problem. Once everyone has evacuated safely, your mission will be complete! Our base will be sure to grant you both honor and rewards!"

She suddenly let out a snort. "Honor? Rewards?" Flora Bloom nearly blurted out the words "Are you all stupid?" but managed to bite her tongue. She was sure that with this plan, if the zombies from the second floor really did break through and leap down, she would be the one they abandoned.

She looked up in the direction of the camera and smiled sweetly. "I have a better idea."

Titan Adler was surprised that this woman could remain so calm and unfazed. He couldn’t tell if she was simply naive or if she was genuinely powerful enough to be fearless.

"What’s your idea? If it’s feasible, we’ll use it!"

"You open the stone door, and it’s every woman for herself getting out. Don’t worry, I’ll be waiting by the entrance. If any zombies charge out, I’ll make sure to put them down for good."

Flora Bloom’s proposal actually struck a chord with the majority of the pregnant women there. They were all aware that the three women named over the broadcast had powerful connections, which was why they were "proposed" to lead the line.
