Chapter 347: Chapter 324: Chelsea Todd’s Plan (Part 2)

That brought them to the problem at hand. How were they going to mount a rescue? And who should they send?

There were over eighty pregnant women in the quarantine area. The second floor had already fallen, with around thirty women there, while the first floor held forty to fifty.

It was no small number.

If they opened the stone gate and released the women from the first floor, how could they screen them for infection? Furthermore, what if the infected pregnant women or infant zombies from the second floor broke through the defenses and rushed down while they were letting people out? What would they do then?

These questions, once raised, immediately stumped the five Family Heads present.

Suddenly, an idea struck Chelsea Todd.

"I have an idea, though I’m not sure if I should say it. I’d like to hear what the sirs think and get your advice."

Liam Todd, thinking Chelsea was about to say something that would embarrass him and leave him at a loss for words, immediately shot her a glare. "Chelsea!"

"Let’s hear what Chelsea has to say. It might be a good idea," Titan Adler and the others figured. ’We don’t have any better options anyway, so it can’t hurt to listen.’

"Go on and tell us, Chelsea, my girl. We’re all listening!"

With the approval of the other four Family Heads, a nervous, sweating Liam Todd nodded at his daughter.

Seeing this, Chelsea Todd smiled faintly and said, "The truth is, sending in superpower users from any of our families—or trying any other method, for that matter—will most likely lead to casualties among our people or a complete failure of the rescue. Just as you sirs have said, what if we open the stone gate and the infected inside break through the second floor’s defenses and all pour out at once?

The stability we’ve worked so hard to achieve here in Argent will be shattered, and it will cause widespread panic."

"Then what’s your brilliant idea, Chelsea?" Keaton Thorne asked, his eyes narrowing.

"Don’t be impatient, Sir Thorne. Among that group of pregnant women, there’s one person who can solve this problem for us! And we won’t have to risk a single one of our own people. I think we should give it a try."

"Oh? And who might that be?" Keaton Thorne asked, his face suddenly full of curiosity.

"A pregnant woman? Are you certain?" Hector Grant asked, looking at Chelsea Todd with a doubtful expression.

"Chelsea, don’t you dare joke around. This is a serious matter; you can’t just spout nonsense!" Liam Todd stared at his daughter sternly, terrified she was about to suggest another one of her terrible ideas.

"Dad! I’m serious! I met her in Morhaven when I went there with Lex and the others! Even though she’s just a Water Ability User, she can summon giant monsters out of thin air to fight for her!

I once saw her take down over a hundred zombies all by herself in Morhaven. She walked into a horde of them like it was nothing. She’s incredibly strong!"

The alarm from the pregnant women’s quarantine area was still blaring across the base. Cynthia Grant, who had just returned home, was sitting with her grandfather, Robin Grant, whom she hadn’t seen in a long time. Curious, she asked,

"Grandpa, what’s that sound? Why has it been going on for so long?"

"That’s the alarm from the pregnant women’s quarantine area. *Sigh.* Something must have happened there again."

"The pregnant women’s quarantine area?" Cynthia Grant was particularly sensitive to the word "pregnant," but she immediately let out a sigh of relief. "Whew."

Seeing his granddaughter’s relieved expression, Robin Grant chuckled. "What are you so relieved about? That alarm has nothing to do with you."

"Grandpa, remember I told you about Flora Bloom? The one who saved me and my uncle, and even helped us build that safe villa community in Morhaven?"

"Oh, yes, I remember! The one who saved you and Sherman! Of course I remember. When she gets out of quarantine, you have to bring her over so Grandpa can meet her properly!"

Just as the two of them were enjoying their chat, a servant of the Grant family came and knocked on the open door. "Master Grant, Miss Cynthia, there’s a man outside named Neal Wallace. He says he needs to see the young miss about something urgent!"

Just then, they heard a commotion from outside, mixed with Neal Wallace’s frantic shouts. "Cynthia, Flora’s in danger! Come out here, quick!"

Cynthia recognized the voice. "He’s my friend! Let him in, quickly!"

Following the sound of her voice, Neal Wallace burst in and saw Cynthia sitting and talking with an elderly man.

"Mr. Wallace, you’re out? Where’s Flora? What do you mean she’s in danger? Why isn’t she with you?"

Neal Wallace’s face was a mask of anxiety. "After we got out, someone reported Flora for being pregnant, and she was forcibly taken to the pregnant women’s quarantine area! Now the alarm is going off, and I asked someone in the know—infected people in there have already turned into zombies!

We’ve all seen what happens when a pregnant woman turns into a zombie. Flora is in there all by herself. I’m afraid she’s in terrible danger!"
