Chapter 346: Chapter 324: Chelsea Todd’s Plan
"I agree," Simon said, raising his hand. "There are over eighty pregnant women in the quarantine zone. From the video, it looks like forty to fifty of them are on the second floor. If they break the windows to get to the first floor, the entire quarantine zone will be overrun."
"I disagree!" Hector Grant shot to his feet, slamming his hand on the table. "Those women are carrying the next generation of our base! How can we just give up on them? I propose we send a rescue team immediately!"
Keaton Thorne stood up in support as well. "I agree! The defenses on the second floor are still holding. We should send superpower users to rescue them now and protect our next generation!"
Keaton Thorne and Hector Grant looked toward Liam Todd, who had yet to speak. They expected him to agree with them, but before he could say a word, Chelsea Todd, who was standing beside him, shouted excitedly, "I object!"
’Flora Bloom... that woman is actually Flora Bloom! I can’t believe it. How did Flora Bloom, who’s supposed to be all the way in Morhaven, end up here in Argent? And in the pregnant women’s quarantine zone, of all places?’
’This is a godsend!’
"Chelsea! Don’t be ridiculous! That’s your aunt in there!"
Chelsea Todd grabbed Liam Todd’s hand. Her expression didn’t change, but her voice was unyieldingly firm as she continued, "Dad! You always tell me that we should prioritize the stability of the base! My aunt may be in there, but the first and second floors are so close. Everyone inside is a pregnant woman; their immune systems can’t be very strong. A baby zombie has already turned on the second floor. Can you guarantee that my aunt won’t suddenly turn after we bring her back?
"What if she suddenly turns into a zombie, with a little zombie in her belly? It would be impossible to guard against!"
As Chelsea Todd spoke, her eyes remained fixed on Flora Bloom on the screen.
’As long as they approve Plan One, Flora Bloom won’t be able to escape. She’ll be killed for sure!’
’I don’t care how powerful of a superpower user she is. Once you’re dead, you’re nothing! I have to get them to agree to Plan One. That way, Flora Bloom is guaranteed to die!’

"Dad, my aunt would understand our decision! If the zombie virus spreads, how will the ordinary people in our base survive?"
Keaton Thorne suddenly scoffed. "Hmph, quite a speech, Chelsea Todd. Does the Todd family want the base’s next generation to be wiped out? Fine, if you want to carry out the first plan, then the family who proposed it can send their own superpower users to do it!"
With that, Keaton Thorne stood up to leave, but Liam Todd stopped him. "Please wait, Family Head Thorne! My daughter is young and ignorant. I hope you won’t hold it against her!"
"Ignorant? If you knew she was ignorant, why did you bring her here? What, your daughter broke through to a Middle Level Water Ability and now she’s something special? A mere Water Ability User, and a junior at that, acting so insolent before us! The Todd family has some fine discipline, I must say!"
Liam Todd’s face flushed red. With a sharp "SLAP," he struck Chelsea Todd across the face. "I brought you here to learn, not to contradict your elders! Now, apologize to Uncle Thorne and the others!"
Chelsea Todd stared at her father’s furious expression in disbelief. She had never seen him so angry with her. "Dad..."
"She’s just a child, she doesn’t know any better. She was only thinking of the base’s safety. I don’t think Chelsea was fundamentally wrong. We shouldn’t be so hard on a child."
"Chelsea! Are you going to disobey your father?" Liam Todd shot his daughter a meaningful look. ’He doted on his daughter, of course, but she had been far too reckless in front of these old veterans from the powerful families. Because of her, he had lost the advantage in what had been a favorable situation!’
Chelsea Todd wasn’t stupid. She had just been too eager to see Flora Bloom dead. Seeing her father’s look, she quickly understood.
She walked over to Keaton Thorne and Hector Grant and bowed her head slightly. "Uncle Thorne, Uncle Grant, it was my fault for being so impulsive. I didn’t consider the bigger picture. Please, direct your anger at me. My father is right. The safety of the base is important, but the children these women are carrying are the hope of our next generation. Even though it’s risky, we should think about the long-term consequences."
After Chelsea Todd finished speaking, not only did Liam Todd’s lips curl into a satisfied smile, but even Hector Grant and Keaton Thorne, who had just been furious, nodded in agreement.
Titan Adler had been silently watching the three families act out their little play. "Well then," he finally said, "since that’s settled, we’ll follow the usual procedure. We’ll vote to make the final decision. How does that sound to everyone?"
Keaton Thorne, Liam Todd, and Hector Grant were naturally in agreement. Simon, though inclined to side with the Adler family, knew it would be useless even if he stood with Titan Adler. In the end, with a three-to-two vote, the five great families decided to send a team to rescue the pregnant women still surviving on the first floor of the quarantine zone.
