Chapter 91: Zhai Mumu (II)
When Han Ruochen heard that Master Yang had no problem, she didn’t know why, but she suddenly felt really touched. Turned out that the heavens were not blind; they actually gave her a chance to turn things around. If not for the kindness that the heavens had shown her, who knows, maybe she would have turned into a resentful ghost. She rubbed her eyes quietly. Even though she was unlucky enough to fall for the tricks of those vicious bastards, this time around, she finally received some warmth and kindness.
Zhai Mumu arched her eyebrows and puckered her lips into an ’O’ shape. She then turned and threw a meaningful glance at her brother. What was wrong with Han Ruochen? Why was she crying all of a sudden? Was she so touched that she started to cry, but they didn’t do anything. Ultimately, it was she who caught the snail caviar.
There was no need to cry.
"You can come to look for Master Fang any time now." Zhai Muchen didn’t respond to Zhai Mumu. Instead, he turned to look at Master Fang to see if the man was okay with it; given that the old man looked really satisfied, it seemed like it was a win-win situation for both of them.
"Then I will thank you." Han Ruochen felt a bit pinched when she saw that the man was helping her. She looked at the eighteen thousand yuan and thought of the two thousand yuan that she had collected; plus, after selling the mantis shrimps, she would most likely have an extra three thousand yuan. With more than twenty thousand yuan in her hands, she still needed to collect sixty thousand yuan to buy a suitable fishing boat.
Han Ruochen felt her heart ache. The money had not even warmed up in her hands, and because of her mother and Han Ziyan, she already had to think of a way to spend the money.
"Alright, then I will leave this matter in your hands, Master Fang." Once he was done speaking, he turned on his feet and then walked back out of the tearoom while dragging his sister along with him.
"What is wrong with you?" Zhai Mumu asked Zhai Muchen as she freed her hand from his grasp. She sullenly said to him, "You are suddenly so nice to this young lady, even letting her get connected with Master Fang. I am your blood-related sister; why aren’t you nice to me?"
When her brother didn’t answer, Zhai Mumu rolled her eyes at him and asked, "By the way, what happened to Miss Han? Why is she working so hard to earn money? She is so young and beautiful. There is no need for her to rush like this?"
"What do you think might be the reason?" Zhai Muchen turned and asked her. She clearly knew the reason, and yet she was asking such a silly question. What other reason could there be other than that she was in severe need of money?
Zhai Mumu rolled her eyes at her elder brother. She slapped him on the forearm and said to him, "Brother, is this how you treat your sister? Why are you making it sound like I am a fool?"
"So you mean to say that you aren’t one?"
"You!"
Han Ruochen heaved a sigh of relief when she stepped out of the Zhai family. Her second uncle, who was waiting for her, hurried over and asked, "What happened? Did they say anything to you?" His niece looked rather pale, and he was worried that she was insulted by the owners of this big mansion. He was already against her coming to the Zhai family after all; even if they had some connection with them, their connections were not deep enough for the Zhai family to help them.
Han Ruochen shook her head. "No, I am alright. They helped me sell the snail caviars. Look, the money is all here, second uncle."
Second Uncle Han peered inside the bag and almost fainted. This—this must be more than ten thousand yuan, damn it, it seemed like his niece’s swift decisions were right. Coming here was the right thing to do!
Han Ruochen felt relieved. With these twenty thousand yuan, she would be able to start a bank account and buy a boat. Scavenging on the shore was not her long-term plan. What she wanted was to get a boat. Only that way would she be able to get her life back on track. In her past life, Han Ziyan and Yang Jianming’s daughter didn’t have to worry about anything. The two of them had enough resources to buy a boat for her, but the same couldn’t be said for her.
Because of Han Ziyan and her father, the Han family was just an empty shell now!
"Let’s go to the bank, second uncle." Han Ruochen was worried that if she brought this much money with her, her mother would certainly cause some trouble for her. What was more, if her mother succeeded in snatching this sum of money, then getting it back would be impossible. Her mother was like a pixiu. Once she got hold of a sum of money, it was impossible to snatch it back from her.
It would be safe to open a bank account.
Second Uncle Han also knew the good things that his sister-in-law had done. He was both speechless and angry when he thought about how this woman had ruined such a good family. And his elder brother. How many times did he tell him to be careful of that woman, but did he ever listen? Now look at the good things that she has done.
"You are right; we cannot leave this money at home." Neither his nor Han Ruochen’s home was safe, with Meng Yunhan keeping an eye on every penny that Han Ruochen earned. The villagers had all seen Han Ruochen catching the snail caviar; who could guarantee that no one would develop some wild and evil intention? It was better to be safe than sorry!
