Chapter 171: Earth Dragon

The two of them had done this many times and had long come to a tacit understanding. Tong Zhaodi knew that Han Ruochen had found what she was looking for and had stopped moving. She was afraid of startling the thing, so even when her hand was raised in the air as if she was about to scoop a shovelful of soil, she stopped just in time. However, she did not see anything and couldn’t help but raise her head to look at Han Ruochen as if silently wondering what was going on.

That was until Han Ruochen sighed and took out a small brush, which she used to brush away the soil on top of a smooth head gently. As soon as she wiped the soil away, a smooth head appeared in view.

Tong Zhaodi did not waste another second and quickly caught the thing. Fortunately, she was used to doing farm work as well as catching fish, or else she would have never been able to catch the thing inside the pit.

"Oh my god! It is an Earth Dragon!"

"No wonder Han Ruochen was digging for so long; there was an earth dragon hiding in the pit."

"There is actually an earth dragon in this mudflat!"

Widow Wang, who was hoping for Han Ruochen to make a joke of herself, was so furious that her face turned purple. If others did not know any better, they would have thought that Han Ruochen had stolen something from her and taken it into her possession. But the thing that truly drove Widow Wang almost to an early grave came a second later as Han Ruochen crouched down and then pulled out another earth dragon from the same pit.

And this one was even longer than the one that Tong Zhaodi was holding.

Two Earth Dragons!

That was equivalent to earning two months’ salary at once. How could Widow Wang not be angry?

The dragon that Tong Zhaodi was holding was alone three to four hundred yuan; as for the other one, she did not even want to start on it. It must be six hundred yuan. A thousand yuan in just a single hunt – this alone was enough to make Widow Wang roll her eyes countless times as she tried to stop herself from fainting.

"Are you going to faint? Aiya. If that is the case, then you should hurry home and lie down in your bed," remarked Aunt Gossip with a hint of amusement in her eyes as she looked at the woman whose face had turned pale and blue. "Don’t let the hustle and bustle make you faint. That will be too big of a loss."

Aunt Gossip was, of course, happy to see the woman suffering. After all, she hated Widow Wang for trying to get close to her husband just a few days ago. Who asked this woman to cause trouble for her husband? If she had stayed in her house obediently and not caused trouble, then she would have never gone against her.

Widow Wang flushed red. She glared at the woman who was speaking too much and then turned on her feet before taking her leave. What was so great about catching two Earth Dragons? Humph. One of these days she would also catch one and show it to everyone that she was just as fortunate as Han Ruochen!

And that Meng Yunhan. She spoke so many good things, but in the end, she couldn’t even deal with someone like Han Ruochen, and yet that woman was boasting that she could easily control Han Ruochen!

Han Ruochen did not care about what Widow Wang was thinking. At the moment, she was surrounded by the people of the village as they questioned her.

"Han Ruochen, how could you catch two dragons at the same time? Did you already know that there was something good under the hole?"

In the past, there were countless old men who could tell what was under the ground with the help of the air bubbles alone.

But Han Ruochen was so young; how could she have the same skills as those old men?

Han Ruochen smiled and said, "I have special vision that allows me to look under the ground."

"How can there be such a thing? You really know how to joke, Han Ruochen."

"That’s right. You speak as if we are living in a sci-fi world."

Han Ruochen laughed along with the men and women who were surrounding her and then said to them, "Of course, I am joking. It’s just a little skill that my grandfather taught me when he saw that I was interested in fishing." Her grandfather was also quite a skilled fisherman, and his fame was known throughout the entire village. If he were not skilled, then his house wouldn’t be the only one that had a tiled roof.

Han Ruochen cleared up the earth dragons and placed them in the buckets before taking her leave. She did not say anything further, and no one dared to ask her to teach them her skills. After all, these were the Han family’s ancestral skills; how could they ask Han Ruochen to teach them?

Once Han Ruochen left, the villagers also walked away. They did not want to follow her, as they too needed to go and collect some seafood, but there were always some who wanted to catch the excitement. They followed Han Ruochen, as they wanted to see if she was really that skilled.

Han Ruochen did not send them away. She was watching the dots appear and disappear on the sea scanning system before she stopped and circled a small spot where she started to dig again. This time around, she did not have to dig for a long time, and she accurately caught an earth dragon. When the villagers who saw her catch another earth dragon, they were stunned.

With her skills, did she really need to work in the school? And just as they were still wondering what Han Ruochen was going to do, she dug out another earth dragon.
