Chapter 106: Light vs Zeldris 1

Light slowed his breathing as he sat in the middle of the arena, with his legs crossed in a lotus position.

It was odd that he would do something like this in such a high stakes game, even his father scoffed, knowing that the boy may have just signed his death warrant.

Zeldris became extremely annoyed at the boy’s behavior, he never wished to be looked down upon, not even by the top officials in the Estate. But here this young man was, treating their battle like a training session.

He would not stand for it.

Zeldris roared and tore through the air like a torpedo going at full speed, for his size he was fast, very fast.

Light didn’t even twitch, he sat there, the wind calmly swirling around him. Even with his eyes closed, he had become extremely sensitive to his environment, and he had created something he called an Orbit.

It was a small circular of energy he put around himself, it helped to detect any incoming hostile objects or people,

As soon as Zeldris crossed this Orbit, Light’s senses flared up.

Zeldris brought his club down on Light with overwhelming force, enough to shatter the earth. The spikes were aimed at piercing through the young man’s skull remorselessly, Zeldris had a victorious look on his face as he brought the club down in one swift swing. The air parted furiously ad the weapon came down.

Light only breathed in, there was a sharp thud sound that echoed across the battlefield when Light parried the attack as easily as swatting a fly, he simply raised his sword above his head, showing the blunt side, and imbued the thick blade with light.

Zeldris twitched as he brought his club down a couple more times, hitting against the sword over and over again as if trying to break it. But Light dodged his attack every time, swatting his attacks away easily.

It had not even been five minutes before Zeldris had begun to run out of breath, he always relied on his entire strength to fight as he had plenty of it. Light already knew this, so the best way he could come up with to defeat an opponent if this level was to wear them out.

Light immediately vanished as Zeldris struck one more time, his spiked club tore through the air once again and struck the earth where Light had once sat.

The huge man swiveled around, searching frantically for the boy that had just escaped his grasp, he held his club in front of him for security.

Then he felt it.

SCHINNGG!

A sharp slash across his back, then another... and another. He could not even see where the slashes were coming from, but he could feel the excruciating pain of the sharp weapon hacking at his skin.

As Light cut through the man’s body with crazy speed, he could see that his attacks weren’t doing much damage as Zeldris’ body remained intact everytime he attacked.

He knew Zeldris was tough, but not this tough, instantly he realized that he had to apply more force.

He became lost in thought for a moment when...

BOOM!

The heavy hand of Zeldris punched at him, slamming against his chest hard, and sending him flying off a few meters. He rolled hard on the floor and stabbed his sword into the earth to halt himself.

His body was covered in dust as he struggled to get back to his feet, his shirt was damaged already due to the force of the blow.

’He’s packing a serious punch.’ Light mused as he cleaned a drop of blood from his mouth. ’I need to end this soon.’

He looked up at his father, who didn’t even meet his gaze, the man even seemed more interested in Zeldris than him, this made Light annoyed.

"What’s the matter, prodigal son? You see your weak attacks have no effect on me." Zeldris spread his hands like an entertainer as he spoke, he had that same cocky smile on his face again. "Let’s finish this, shall we!?"

Zeldris stepped on the ground hard, air began to circulate around his feet as though he was about to jump high, and sure enough, he was.

Light watched as he gathered enough energy on the ground. As soon as Zeldris sprung up into the air, his leg was suddenly enveloped by a circle of dark energy that flowed all the way into the ground.

He scoffed and tried to shake it off but it wouldn’t budge, he couldn’t even make contact witness the tendril.

He was immediately dragged by said tendril and slammed hard against the floor, dust rose frantically as the huge man’s body was being slammed repeatedly on the cracking arena floor, at Light’s whim.

The Primarch’s eyes widened as he watched his son treat this large warrior like a toy, this was the first time he flinched during the entire tournament, he had a feeling that Light had awoken some type of power within him, but he had no idea it would be the Radiant Shadow.

Zeldris was covered in dust and wounds when the tendril finally let him go.

Jacob smiled mischievously as he watched on. ’Classic.’ He mused, placing his chin against his thumb and index finger, caressing it slowly.

Zeldris was on the business end of struggling to his feet now, he grunted as he slowly managed to stand up from the ground, he was covered in bruises and cuts, but there was a fire in his eyes, and it had only intensified.

He begun to laugh very loudly, holding his stomach, a bellowing that bounced off the walls of the arena.

Then he looked at Light seriously, his eyes narrowing. "You have earned my respect Wutherhorn. Now I will fight you with no restraints." Zeldris spoke in his deep guttural voice.

He dropped his armor and Light watched as they crashed into the ground with a loud thud, creating two deep holes where they now rested.

"Now it’s time to fight for real."
