Chapter 86: 86- Billionaire Romance

George’s eyes fluttered open. He winced in pain and felt a sharp ache spreading in his lower abdomen. His chest felt heavy, and his head throbbed.

For a few seconds, he couldn’t understand anything because it was nothing but sheer darkness around him.

"Maria..." His lips moved, but his own voice sounded weak and odd.

Where was he? Wasn’t he supposed to be on his way to the village?

Where is Greyson? And Mariana? And Ruby?

He tried lifting his hand to touch his face, but immediately frowned. It barely moved. It felt heavy, like something was pressing down on him.

In confusion, he tried to force his hand up. Nothing happened.

He felt panic slowly creeping up into his chest.

"He...hello..." He tried shouting, but it seemed no one could hear him.

He tried to stay calm. Maybe he was still drugged?

He kept moving his fingers slowly, trying to get rid of the stiffness. After a while, he could move his arm a little. The darkness was giving him a heart attack, but he closed his eyes and tried to move his arm again.

This time, his elbow hit something hard above him.

He froze as he carefully lifted his hand again until his palm touched a solid surface inches above his face.

He knocked it with his feeble hand. It sounded like... wood.

With great struggle, he moved his other hand frantically, touching both sides around him.

"Hey!" He shouted in the dark. There was no answer.

And then his eyes widened as it hit him.

"You buried me!" he screamed, pounding against the wood above him, "Mariana! Ruby! Get me out of here!"

It was getting suffocating for him, and he was about to faint.

Am I really fainting, or is it death that wants to claim me in my sleep?

Mud slid from the surface as the coffin finally rested on the ground. Ruby quickly rushed forward, "Open it, please."

The cemetery in charge hesitated briefly before unlatching the coffin. Mariana instantly covered her mouth when the coffin slowly lifted. Her husband lay motionless inside.

"George," Mariana burst into tears.

"Check him!" Ruby snapped nervously at the man, but he just shrugged casually.

"I’m not a doctor, ma’am. I did what you paid me to do."

"At least check if he’s breathing!" The old man reluctantly leaned closer towards George’s face.

"I think he’s alive. But his breathing doesn’t seem steady. He was without Oxygen for too long."

Mariana watched shakily as Ruby and the caregiver lifted George out of the coffin and carried him to the black van parked near the trees.

Ruby was breathless when she settled Papa in the backseat. She turned back and handed the man a heavy cloth bag.

The man grabbed it immediately and peeked inside.

"The exact cash you asked for," she said in a chilling voice, "Now remember... you never saw us," She warned quietly.

The old man snorted, "At my age, miss, I barely see myself."

Ruby slammed the van doors shut.

Before leaving, she made sure to bury a fake body in the empty grave that bore George Mason’s name.

When Sienna entered the office building of AR builders, her jaw dropped in surprise. It was not what she had expected.

The curved reception desk, executives carrying tablets, and the fine interior. Even the air smelled expensive. Sienna’s eyes quietly moved from one detail to another.

Beside her, Hunter noticed her absentmindedness.

"What’re you looking at, sweetheart?" he asked her lazily, wanting to hide her somewhere. She looked so sexy in that pencil skirt that hugged her ass.

"Nothing," She sighed dramatically and then leaned closer to him, "I’m taking notes."

Hunter chuckled at that, "Notes?"

She lowered her voice into a whisper so the female executive walking ahead wouldn’t overhear, "For my office, silly. I want ideas on how my office is going to look once I become rich enough to afford this."

Hunter stared at her for a second and then laughed softly under his breath.

Sienna narrowed her eyes, "Don’t laugh. I’m serious."

"Yeah. I can see that."

She rolled her eyes. The moment they stepped inside the elevator, Sienna quickly opened Pinterest on her tablet and shoved it towards him secretly.

"See?" She whispered.

Hunter ran his gaze over the screen. Different office interiors filled the display. Glass offices, warm wood panels, massive bookshelf wall.

Hunter curved down his lips, "You’ve been collecting this?"

Sienna looked oddly embarrassed now that he was actually seeing it, "I started saving these..." in my precious life. But never got the chance to go ahead with it.

Hunter was planning to tease her, but instead, he found himself studying the pictures with interest.

"Which color theme will you go for?" He asked her, taking her by surprise. She stared at him suspiciously before slowly answering him, "Black... maybe cream and gold too."

Then her eyes gleamed with excitement as she pointed at another image, "Look at the lighting. I’ll have this one."

Hunter nodded thoughtfully, "Hmm."

Both of them stepped out while Sienna was now whispering in his ear, "One more thing," She continued walking down the hallway, "I also want a private elevator."

Hunter glanced at her.

Her face had now gotten too serious, "That private elevator will open directly into my private parking area," she explained with complete seriousness, "Nobody gets access except me."

"So basically... you want a rich lifestyle."

Sienna nodded proudly, "Exactly."

Hunter looked up at the ceiling and then hummed thoughtfully, "Which romance novel did you read last night?"

Sienna’s jaw dropped, "I did not read any romance novel!"

"Mhm."

"I’m serious, you brat!" Hunter’s nostrils flared as he tried to control his laughter.

"The pictures you showed me. They didn’t show an office, but the headquarters of a Billionaire mafia romance."

Sienna slapped his shoulder with a glare, "Shut up!"

Hunter rubbed the spot, a little dramatically, like she had hurt him, "You’re so violent with your secretary, madam boss."

By the time they reached the owner’s office, both of them were still bickering in hushed tones.

The female executive who had guided them to the main office glanced between them awkwardly before knocking on the door.
