Chapter 201: Chapter 201: Wu Yun Is Abused
Vitality Boxing Club, just outside Shida Modern Garden.
"Defense! Back up and create some distance!" Liu Yi slapped the edge of the boxing ring, reminding a tall club member on the platform to retreat.
The tall member was about 190cm, with a lean build. He wore training headgear and a protective vest on his upper body, and he was currently trading blows with Wu Yun, who was half a head shorter than him.
The tall guy was at a clear disadvantage in the close-range brawl. After all, they weren’t fighting under Muay Thai rules, so Wu Yun confidently ducked down and charged into his opponent’s reach.
One after another, a series of hooks and swings landed on the tall guy’s abdomen and ribs. Fortunately, the protective gear was there, so the damage wasn’t significant.
Hearing Liu Yi’s reminder, the tall man came to his senses. He brought his arms together to guard his chest and stomach, then gave a hard push forward and nimbly backed away, escaping Wu Yun’s attack range.
As if jolted awake, the tall man started using jabs to control the distance. Although he didn’t hit Wu Yun, he effectively brought the situation under control.
For a moment, the match came to a stalemate.
Just then, Wu Yun’s phone rang. Wen Meng, who was watching the fun from the side, picked it up. "Wu Yun! It’s a call from someone named Wei Wu."
Wu Yun paused his training, took off his right glove, tucked it under his left arm, and took the phone.
"Mr. Wu, thank you for this opportunity! I’ve made my decision! When would be a good time for you? I’d like to come over and discuss the specific arrangements for the job!"
Hearing that Wei Wu was willing to be his bodyguard, Wu Yun felt a surge of joy. ’A powerhouse like him is a once-in-a-lifetime find.’
However, he also wanted to feel the difference in skill between himself and Wei Wu. So, he said, "Come to the Vitality Boxing Club in the Shida Modern Garden commercial street right now. I’m training here. Come and have some fun."
Wei Wu immediately understood Wu Yun’s intentions. He packed up some of his portable tools, hopped on his Little Red Car, and headed for the Vitality Boxing Club.
By the time Wei Wu arrived, Wu Yun had already gone through two more low-intensity sparring sessions. The result, of course, was Wu Yun winning by a large margin.
Looking at the tall man lying on the canvas, his chest heaving, Wu Yun laughed. "Wan Chao! Your stamina is terrible. You’re already gassed after just five rounds!"
Wan Chao, panting heavily, complained, "Who can keep up with a freak like you! Next time, I’m gonna have guys take turns fighting you!"
Wu Yun saw Wei Wu walking over in a plain, unbranded tracksuit. He called out to a few members he knew below the ring, "Drag this guy away! I’m about to spar with a real expert!"
In the boxing club, Liu Yi and Wu Yun had the best skills and fighting strength. But Liu Yi had been retired for several years, and his stamina couldn’t quite keep up with Wu Yun’s pace.
So, everyone’s eyes turned to the tall, powerfully built stranger who had just arrived.
Although Wei Wu knew the job was basically his, he still wanted to show what he was capable of.
So, without any hesitation, he took off his shoes, socks, and jacket, revealing an army-green training T-shirt underneath.
However, most people’s attention was drawn to Wei Wu’s veiny arms. Never mind his calloused hands; the healed scars of various sizes on his forearms instantly amplified his intimidating presence.
"Boss! What are the rules?" Wei Wu borrowed a pair of gloves, changing his form of address for Wu Yun at the same time.
Wu Yun was momentarily stunned by the aura Wei Wu suddenly projected. Snapping out of it, he said with a smile, "Just a technical exchange. Don’t go all out! I don’t think I could handle your full power."
You have to understand, for the 80-kilogram Wu Yun facing the 100-kilogram Wei Wu, it was like a child facing an adult—a feeling of powerlessness.
"Aside from any lethal moves, use all the techniques you can. Let me experience the difference between sport combat and real-world fighting!"
Wu Yun knew firsthand that there was a huge gap between Master Level Skills and Expert Level Skills. Now, his fighting spirit was stirred, and he was eager to experience it for himself.
Wei Wu nodded in understanding.
After putting on the gloves, Wei Wu slipped through the ropes into the ring.
The gloves touched. The exchange began.
Wu Yun moved constantly, his feet light, occasionally leaning forward to feint.
But Wei Wu remained completely still, his eyes locked on Wu Yun’s.
Just as Wu Yun was about to change his strategy, Wei Wu pounced like a tiger descending from the mountains.
He wrapped his arms around Wu Yun’s legs, executing another takedown, only this time it was a head-on confrontation.
Wu Yun felt himself fly through the air for a moment before being slammed hard onto the canvas. Thanks to the protective gear, he wasn’t hurt.
Before he could even react, he felt Wei Wu’s glove tap his throat. Then, Wei Wu pulled him back to his feet.
"Boss, that’s the difference!" Wei Wu’s words snapped Wu Yun back to reality.
"On the battlefield, you would have been knocked unconscious by that throw, and then I would have crushed your throat or slit your neck."
Wei Wu made a neck-slitting gesture.
Wu Yun got up, not discouraged in the slightest. He waved Wei Wu over. "Come on! Again!"
"BANG!"
Wu Yun was once again thrown to the ground, this time by a scissor leg takedown from Wei Wu, who then subconsciously reached for his own leg.
Over the next ten or so exchanges, Wu Yun was taken down in one or two moves most of the time. Only twice did he manage to last a few more exchanges by sheer luck.
Wu Yun felt awful. ’It’s like I have all this strength, but no way to use it.’
’Wei Wu’s entire body is a weapon. I never know what kind of move he’ll pull next.’
Wu Yun, being in the thick of it, couldn’t fully grasp the situation, but the onlookers were watching Wei Wu with faces full of shock.
If Wei Wu could instantly defeat Wu Yun, he could just as easily defeat anyone else present.
It could be said that Wei Wu’s fighting technique was no longer limited to simple combat; it had long since incorporated the use of weapons. To put it simply, his style was all about whatever killed the fastest.
"No more! No more! We’ll go again next time!" Wu Yun scrambled up and took off his gloves.
Wu Yun wasn’t upset, though. ’After all, this man is going to be my bodyguard. The stronger he is, the better.’
"Wei Wu, what else can you do?" Wu Yun, of course, wouldn’t reveal that he already knew about all of his Skills.
"Boss, my skill with weapons is probably better than my hand-to-hand combat. I can also throw knives and things like that." Wei Wu didn’t mention piloting helicopters or driving tanks, because those skills weren’t needed right now.
"Throwing knives?" Liu Yi asked excitedly, then ran to a pile of junk and pulled out a worn-out wall target.
"Come on! Show us!" Wu Yun was also eager to see the effects of expert-level throwing.
Wei Wu took out a few finger-length nails from his jacket, stood five meters from the target, and threw one casually.
There was none of the expected whistling sound as it cut through the air; the target propped against the wall just trembled slightly.
Ten meters.
Still a hit.
Fifteen meters.
A hit.
Wei Wu didn’t back up any further, instead throwing the rest of his nails from the fifteen-meter mark.
"Holy shit! Fucking awesome!" Liu Yi exclaimed as he picked up the target to get a closer look.
The nail thrown from five meters had gone straight through the ten-centimeter-thick wall target. The one from ten meters was completely embedded inside it, and even from fifteen meters, the nail was halfway stuck in the target.
And you have to remember, his target was no flimsy piece of junk.
The nail from five meters was dead center in the bullseye. The one from ten meters was right next to the bullseye, and the ones from fifteen meters were all within a ten-centimeter grouping.
